I played for about 6 or 7 months back in the day before I found P99. I didn't leave because it sucked, I actually found the community really friendly. I left because p99 was a bit more classic, it was free, and my macbook pro had a much easier time running p99 than it did PoP's graphic intense zones.

I must be out of the loop, because I just found out EQ Mac is gone, and they've closed up shop.

What happened?

The guy at SOE that was keeping it running by himself was forced to move on to other projects, and Smed shut it down.

What is the boxing limit on this server?

3 accounts can be logged on by a single person.

Seriously if someone would just make a planes of power server and have no boxing I wouls be all over that.

Dates and order of events may be off, only played on EQMac for one afternoon via the Windows interface because the Luclin/PoP changes made me barf.

EQMac only ran on Macs forever.
EQMac became Free to Play.
Sony said they were going to shut it down back in 2012. (https://forums.daybreakgames.com/eq/index.php?threads/all-good-things-must-come-to-an-end.192821/)
Dedicated EQMac fanbase cried out for relief.
Someone released a program to enable EQMac on Windows boxes.
Soon followed a large cross-section of P99 players and other players to EQMac via the new Windows interface work around.
A group of players using the Windows work around did the progression then woke the Sleeper. The Sleeper was special on EQMac, they had managed to work together and not wake it for over 10 years.
The only dev working on EQMac put the sleeper back to bed.
Back in late 2013 Sony finally killed EQMac (http://www.rerolled.org/showthread.php?3941-EQMac-Shutting-down).

the 10 players online was probably how many were on the message boards. I was just on the p2002 server and there were around 50 people that I could /who doing different level ranges. So that doesn't include anyone that is /anon

Population is growing pretty fast. I started about 2 months ago I have seen a lot more activity recently.
