Executioner's Axe Proc/Worn

Does anyone know when this got changed from a worn effect to a proc? I thought it wasn't until 2001, but I've been having trouble finding any info on it and it's already a proc here.

Edit: The oldest post from Alla is 12/30/00 so it was at least a proc then is all I can find.

I don't recall it ever being anything but a proc, but I didn't play a class that would be using it at that time in 99.

Well if you look at the screenshots for instance on Allakhazam for Exe Axe and the FBSS you will notice they have the same effect of a worn haste. It wasn't until later that the Axe was changed to a combat haste. I just don't know when that was, but if it was always a proc on this server then that would be incorrect. Does anyone know if it was worn or proc when p99 opened?

as far as i remember it was always combat haste and it removed other haste buffs u had which it made it kinda sucky (i had one bak in 99 on my troll warrior)

Not sure what your post is referencing. Do you not see Berserker on that? We're talking about what it was like in classic.

So am I. Look at the screen shots. Description doesn't equal screen shot. The word combat got added in after effect: haste when it changed.

Doesn't matter what the screenshots said. Pretty sure Exe axe was always a proc. Things didn't used to say combat anyways.

Ya they didn't specify anything which is why I've been having trouble finding any concrete info, I'll keep looking though.

It seems like I remember this thing being worn haste back in the day, but I could be wrong. All of the 2001 (oldest posts around the boards I could find) talks about a patched version and that its a proc, not worn. Guess we have to go by our oldest sources.

I had one. The effect was a combat proc, not a worn effect. People on Alla's, as usual, are probably just spewing garbage about things they don't understand. There's a lot of incorrect information there in the comments. Take it with a grain of salt. This would have been after Brell Serelis had opened, but even if the Axe had a worn effect at launch time, we would be way beyond that point now in the progression.
