Hardcore Group

I would like to find a player or group of players who would be interested in some deep game immersion. The idea would be to RP in game with absolutely no out of game reference whatsoever. So developing your own background story and a set of in game goals before character creation is a must.
It would be hardcore in the sense that death is permanent. If the experiment is a success we could eventually have a guild tag that would identify our cause and give other players the opportunity to interact in RP and understand why they receive the emote *so and so looks at you strangely. when they use real life references.
If anyone is interested please let me know on the forum and we can set up an in game meeting. (where/when)

Not a bad idea outside of the death is permanent thing. That being said I think I have the time for another character, nor do I possess the RP skills.

perma death is the dumbest thing ever. LD deaths never happen.

Yeah...I wouldn't do the permanent death. That would be impossible to play because EQ is brutal. I can see where it might interrupt immersion, though.

What you might do is incorporate it into your roleplay by saying a gracious god (perhaps the one that character worships) rescued the player when they fell unconscious and returned them naked to the place they were last soulbound (you'll have to ignore the 'you have died/were slain by suchandsuch' and 'Soandso's corpse' parts).

Or someone might die and then the others have to ask for some kind of resurrection (any kind) from a cleric before that person can resume playing (forcing them to sit at their bind point until a cleric is found).

The permadeath thing is a killer to an otherwise interesting idea.
If you want total immersion, why cut out one of the basic environmental aspects of the world you live in? No one diies for real on Norrath else why do Clerics have the resurrection line of spells? Would you have your Clerics totally abandon one of their core functions?

I like how Charlie is tracking this for RP purposes. Just roll with the deaths in an RP sense, otherwise its just too damn brutal. Though I would say it is possible, but imagine when your grp wipes, you all just delete and start over?

p99's new Discord server will have permanent death, if you didn't already know. You should play out this experiment there. We'll gladly welcome RP groups with open arms. :)
