More a question for Rogean I suppose: Will we see random respawns again?

I suppose with the release of velious the larger raiding content pool has been accommodating for guilds (which required monthly respawns to circumvent it a tad during kunark as I understand it).

Albeit not monthly, it would be nice to have an earthquake triggered once every few months to help with the randomness of some NPC timers and not just raid mobs.

The anniversary weekend looms, perhaps one there? :)

More Earthquakes would be more classic to me. I started in 2002 one month after Luclin and every patch and the patch to fix a patch gave us Double or triple targets. I can only guess the same was true for classic, kunark and velious. Maybe an older veteran player than me can confirm?

It was rare to go more than 2 weeks without a server crash/restart/patch back then.

There are likely some of these that didn't result in server downs (hot fixes etc.) and there are some server downs which weren't the result of a patch. Counting them there's about 35 patches, assuming about 2/3rds of them were server downs you're looking at 2 server downs a month.

I hope they go back to server patches resetting timers and earthquake sim repops to simulate the more frequent patch schedule from live.

There hasn't been an in earthquake in Velious yet unless you count launch day. There was a couple server restarts but Velious didn't repop.

Well in Rogean's eyes the server never goes "down" for patches, he doesn't take it offline like they did on live.

Newbie question - what exactly does an "earthquake" do in the game? Is there a graphical aspect to it, or just a line of text stating it happened?

A brief rumble occurs in game (like an earthquake) followed by a yellow line of text, which then promptly respawns mobs that are not already up or dead

It actually despawns all mobs first, then respawns them.

How did they manage to get a truly vintage client? Don't they use project emu client like p99 and every other emulated server?

Pop is not good, luclin is not good.

Sure more content is fun but the game becomes more and more broken...so it is dumb.

Sure more content is fun but the game becomes more and more broken...so it is dumb.P2002 client is definitely older than the client P99 uses and it shows. PoP is amazing and Luclin is pretty good. Subscription numbers disagree with minority opinion of PoP/Luclin hate round these boards.

One day I hope we can switch to this client on P99.

It's so classic. Not having mouse wheel would cripple the gameplay of so many who exploit its non-classic use every day.

1st person or crappy F9 views should be all we get. See how much harder pulling becomes when you can't scroll out to 3rd and quickly view your surroundings.

It was a lot of fun to be able to contest and kill raid targets without having to track for 16 hours and have a raid force camped out and ready to log in the whole time.

Mobilizing for kills and killing is far more classic of an experience than camping out alt armies and staring at a wall for 16 hours!
