How have you made EQ fun for you?

Most of you already know me and what I am all about. Monster PVP'r , creator of the guild Azrael which could only be engaged by Zergs. In addition to that I only PVP'd with elite animals like Deluxee and others. Easily won 2v8's were an every day thing and people loved us for it.

That is how I approached enjoying this box, by doing everything in my power to be a PVP monster and defeat more with less.


Many people take a different approach which is a lot less enjoyable, but they make it work for them. Despite the many shitty aspects of zerging, people get joy from having the ability to kill the content with the good drops, even if they still get rolled over after acquiring said pixels. Below are some examples against being in a large PVE guild.

25 hours a week raiding uncontested pixelated dragons for the 173rd time on a 50 population 14 year old elf simulator with 49 other people that you dislike for the sole purpose of obtaining "dragon kill points" of which only 10% will be rolled over to the next expansion where you'll be raiding 50+ hours a week with 79 other people that you dislike for three years until your character is fully decked out and you reroll to do it all over again or you finally realize that none of it mattered because the server is and has always been completely dead

how shitty is your life? to be completely truthful, i actually feel sorry for you


My question is how have you gone about making Everquest fun for you? Have you done some silly quest with a minimal reward, just for the hell of it. Tried to see if you could find a spot in WK where you can autorun directly into the Queynos hill entrance from the NK ZL? Ran around porting newbs?

after 4 seconds of searching, already hit 1st gem. too easy
i just find EQ PvE boring unless it's something that i've never done before, or if i'm trying to do it with the minimum amount required. that's why VP was bearable for me when azrael dominated the box, because we rarely had more than 20 people in the zone

killing VS, severilous, nagafen, etc. for the 50th+ time has really lost its appeal, especially when i have to do it with 40 other people, several of whom i really dislike

so best case scenario is that my team wins the awful clusterfuck 100 player pvp fights where individual player skill means very little, then i get to sit there for hours on end doing the previously mentioned pve that i don't like anyway and next thing you know an entire weekend day is gone

this box has just been played out for way too long

I enjoy pvp'ing over anything in this game. I also enjoy laughing hysterically at people as they rage out in tells and ooc to the point of using racial slurs and bigotry. I take my licks in battle but couldn't care less about dying. I've made Everquest fun for myself by going into it with the attitude that it's a game. My 3 best pals are Ragnaros, Weinus, and Salwor.

Honestly, I contemplated doing just that this winter, I think it could be a lot of fun. Velious is perfect for contesting, since there's always a way to advance your toon despite whatever cockblocking is going on. The very thing Kunark locked and which split guilds apart, since there was nothing to do aside from a few easily cock blocked 32k HP bosses. In addition to that, a million additional tools to pull some SUPER nuggarish sheeit against zergs. It's pretty sad that people are not making big plays off of these beautiful gifts.


But watching Rogean not give a fuck about how stale he'd made Kunark with "MANUALLY" triggered repops was just such a slap in the face to the community. I don't really think I'd be able to have any kind of faith on the server again. He simply didn't give a fuck.

i can hit for 100+ and do 60-80dmg regularly verse other melees...really adds up during 1v1 duels

i love Empire, and would never leave, that being said,

If I wasnt in Empire i'd be showing the resistance how it's done. Every raid all i think about are my strategies to attack and kill my guild if I wasnt in it. I'd have my rogue and wizard and I got plenty of ideas to both. You could log in during a Klandicar, big outdoor dragon with massive AE fears, you could pop on mid fight with everyone feared and at half hp or less and pick off someone easy, on a rogue or wiz. Theres alot people could do on rogues v our healers/ch chain during statue, tormax etc. No one even tries it, Gardur tried something before and Rags tried a little bit one day but thats it. It's a shame and im a little embarassed no one even tries to do this shit. I'd be doing it all day if i wasn't in Empire. I'd be in TOV pvping too, wait an hour or two when we are deep in the zone, come in on a rogue and be sneaky and try to pull something off by yourself. Whether it's getting a monk puller dead, finishing someone off for a YT, or anything. Theres so much people could do.

Realllllllllllllly the only time someone has done something risky and been successfull was that Goatassin? guy. Loverboy? on his wizard / shaman. He camped both at DN/WW and logged in during Klandicar and got like 3-5 YT's between the two toons. If you had a couple of wizzys, and targetted right people, you could wipe the raid for sure. It's worth a shot

Lite one of the worst strategist this game has ever produced, the only reason he had followers was because he would multi box their characters and would be the mule for moving everyone to different zones so they only had to log in when told.

His guild spent 100s of hours farming fingerboard hoops to trade for trakanon loot and trash epics and didn't go against Nihilum until 2 years into kunark. In fact, they probably would have never if it wasn't for Dentist teaching them the most basic fundamentals like main assisting, dispelling, and healing during their short merge. But that ended up falling apart because they were too butt hurt about losing their sky dkp for the opportunity to get world bosses (pathetic bluebies).

Then he leveraged his "team" of 60s with epics to strong arm every up and coming guild into joining them until they quit and appd nihilum because he sucked. He was the #1 reason for "Why Nihilum?" On the apps.

Hurts donut.

Now he is just a bitter sore loser that tries to keep his head high and mention highlights about killing new players to the server that were still gearing and learning pvp 4 years into the timeline when most had quit due to lack of new content and the repetitive pointless "kc pvp".

When you play this game it is a complete reversal of reality. Those that would never lead in real life are leading groups of 60+ people. Lite is an illegal immigrant and I think it is outstanding the strides he has made, to not only download the client but learn to communicate with fellow players through text and teamspeak. He has even made videos proving these accolades including:

1) How to click options and read what keys do
2) Stand in tree and watch person attack him
3) How to click a pumice to dispel


People are harsh and need to be happy with what they got. It can be frustrating coming home and playing a game where some illegal immigrant has been scheming for hours on end and you have to go with his plan because you don't have time to fuck with it. You say what the fuck ever, follow the immigrant nerd and maybe enjoy a few chuckles on the forums but lets also be happy for the guy considering his progress.

This game provides PvP no matter what certain guilds decide to do. If you want fair guild vs guild type of numbers regularly this game will never provide it. If a fight is going to be consistently fair the game has to include constraints and control the environment (BGs).

In EQ the winner will most likely always be known. Small scale you can catch them off guard but you aren't going to catch an entire guild off guard with 80 members. Maybe a guild will make a naive move here and there over a couple months and be put in a position where stronger guild gets to have fun slaughtering them, but that doesn't happen often. Once in a blue moon as one force is rising as another gets weak maybe you will get 2-3 fights that are pretty even.

If you want to PvP get a group, and figure out what you can do. Peel off a few stragglers from a zerg that are raiding, wipe exp groups, camp teleporters, what the fuck ever. Everything doesn't have to be the best epic battle the server has ever seen. Go PvP solo or with a few other people. There are 300 people logged in and you can get to the majority of the zones very easily.

Macca is awful, and he was my first kill at level 60 on my rogue. It was just us two and it was in frontier mountains, you do the math. i was genuinely baffled at what took place

And in the following weeks my friend Yibz who rolled on a pvp server for the first time routinely turned Macca into a punching bag in 1v1 fights all the time

I've been playing on both servers for years and have been under many leaderships and was even a leader for a few years... what lite done with what we had (warm bluebies) including myself..was exceptionally amazing... there was alot of bad calls but also tons of good calls ... we had so much fun , failure didn't really matter. lite's #3 leader imo .. Zeelot #1 Getsome #2 then Lite....



tldr.... the Mexican has flaws but the dude is the best all around player/leader/strategists on the box.... hate if you want but the dude played eq the way it was supposed to of been played... hard as possible at all times....

Myself Lewis Ames did the day to day operations of naturesfury/heresy here w rexx and knuckle, we pvpd and leveled up and fought outnumbered every night against powerhouses like nihilum while teaching people like deluxee how to group pvp. I think we did very well for ourselves for what our niche was.

I like helping people, it's my favorite part of EQ. Level, guild and gear don't matter to me, I enjoy helping anyone who needs it. If I am not helping someone I am usually soloing or checking vendors for research supplies.

I started doing it on Live as a guild leader to help gear new members and I've just continued doing it since for reasons that elude me. If you kill me, I will laugh, because it's a game. Actually most things in EQ make me laugh. It's the best response you can have.

I have a similiar attitude and play style but I enjoy killing as well. I try to keep my help to grief ratio more towards the helpful side. You are a good dude.

To be honest I wish this server was more of an "Azrael" server than a "Nihilum" server if you feelers me. But it isn't and instead of bitching about it I just did whatever I found interesting. I never raided VP back in the day for example, very few guilds really hit it hard and even fewer on the PVP servers when the content was actually relevant outside a couple clickies and PD.
