Hey guys. I read a few other posts about this. Tried a few things but nothing helped. So im just gonna make my own thread.
The games freezes on me a lot. When zoning, when going from character select to ingame, from server select to character select ill get kicked back to log in screen.
It is almost unplayable right now. Any help would be appreciated.

I have also begun experiencing this. It wasn't happening early this morning, so it is something recent. I rarely go LD and play often. Always, LD occurs during a temporary loss of internet, which is not occurring.
Every time i zone, I freeze. Sometimes I'll get kicked to login screen or I just end up restarting client.
This also occurs when trying to enter world after character selection. It freezes. I have to restart client, then it usually works the second time(after waiting for my character to no longer be in zone).
I've also noticed drops in rate of 100% down to 95% and then jumps back up, which I've never seen before. Ir always drops to 0% in the past. Just now, it did ended up dropping and disconnecting me. However, it returned me to character select screen, not login as per usual.
Very odd.

Try turning off loading art.
I'm actually having the same issue. A friend of mine was having it last night. Every time I zone I either go right to log-in screen, or it just freezes and I inevitably just link die. Anyone find a solution?

I've had the same issue for a couple of weeks but just with my highest character. I also can't log onto her in Felwithe or Butcher Block...any ideas?

This is a very old issue that keeps popping up every now and then. I have been playing for a couple weeks now after a long break from the game and since yesterday it appeared again. I don't think anyone ever found a fix for it and I guess it's related to the server connection.

Anyone having these issues needs to run EQ as an administrator as well as in compatibility mode (windows XP servicepack 2, I believe), also might have to tweak your resolution settings.

This doesn't explain that it magically goes away after a while without changing anything. I have been experiencing this problem since I started playing P99 three years ago and it comes and goes at will.

I can't explain it either really, only that I used to have these issues all the time and doing those things fixed it.

I just tried some other servers and they all work perfectly fine, so it's definitely P99, at least in my case. Just in case someone was wondering if this is a general problem with the game.

I did not dig up the old posts on this, but I know a solution that works. Use a VPN, and it should solve your issue. There are things you can do with your modem (such as port forwarding) and whatnot, but this always fixed the issue for me on Project 1999 and on a few other private servers where I had issues. Here are some examples you can try - https://www.bestvpn.com/blog/18736/5-best-free-vpn-2/ but I have a paid one. I know cyber ghost has worked for me in the past before I upgraded to a paid one. Let me know if it fixes it!
