Does anyone remember Ames? He was my Dwarf Paladin... Created Sept 8th 2001..He was my main for about 5 years. I then played Kire, a dwarf berserker. I played on karana intill it was merged with the rathe, and then i played on rathe for about 3-4 years.

My main characters were Tonifalon, and then Rapha. Was in the Stormbringers until the guild folded and then joined up with Lost Asylum (both guilds were part of the Ashborne Alliance). Miss my old friends, but still keep in touch with a handful of them on Facebook :)

I personally thought it was a GREAT achievement to have hundreds of people able to AGREE on something and actually FOLLOW the guidelines they had set up for themselves. Completely player made and enforced...I really wish there was something like the Council of our old server here on p1999...I think its a great idea Dach.

I did restart my dark elf cleric, but then decided against playing her - so Rapha has been gathering dust for months. You are more likely to find me on Talori, my druid - and I went halfling this time, instead of half elf. Grew so tired of the thong comments as Tonifalon on Karana.

*And as far as the council goes, I appreciated all their efforts of trying to make the server more enjoyable. Here it is like you can't even concentrate on your raid because you are looking over your shoulder ever 15 secs to see if another guild is going to train you or pull some other stunt to wipe your raid so they can have the target.

Don't want to turn this thread into a FFA vs Rotation thread, so I'll stop there, hee hee.

When EQ2 was released most of our guild moved to EQ2 so I followed. It was too bad because I loved the Karana server, it was very friendly. That and I much preferred EQ to EQ2.

I played a dark elf enchanter (Joyelle) on Karana. Was in Peacekeepers and joined Valoran around the time they were raiding NToV with Grey Hawke and ended up transferring with the guild to Maelin Starpyre when the server opened (somewhere mid-PoP). We raided regularly there until about Serpent's Spine expansion when i think the majority got burned out and quit. Good to see some names i recognize from forever ago. The guild and player names are bringing back floods of good memories for me. ;)

I played on Karana from Kunark through PoP. I was in Resurgence, then Paralax, then Nightbane. I think I was even officer and co-leader of Nightbane towards the end. Oh right, my name was Aerah, wood elf rogue.

And the KGOC was horrible. It stunted progression on the server and completely ruined the high end economy. Sure it was nice for all the middling guilds/alliances who thought they had a right to try Severilous or Trak, but could you imagine trying to get into VP if Trak had a 24 guild rotation? No, because those middling guilds/alliances didn't even know VP existed. Not to mention that the planar gods were also on a rotation and it normally didn't line up with the night you had that plane, so you had to wait for the other guild to clear the plane before you could start killing the CT/Inny.

Rant off. Karana was boss. I learned how to curse in french.

Karana here too. I played all the way to LDoN and some into that. Doubt anyone remembers me but you never know. I'd say something that may spark a memory is I used to run PUG BoT raids all the time! Every time he popped people would message me to run one. I did it on two characters my tank and my druid.

Vivi I played on Karana too hahaha lots of french indeed, but it was perfect since I'm french too :P

I had two main chars, a human monk (Chomanno Tranquilfist) and a high elf magician (Molimos Monstersummoner).

Sadly I don't remember that many people there, except from my RL friends who played too (Zibz the human monk, Colsrednas the high elf wiz and Sayain the woodelf warrior).

Except those, the only people I remember are Farfelu, gnome magician, Douxreve, human enchanter and also Belguar the shaman.

I remember first being in a guild of people from Quebec (Les Patriotes Qc). In some kind of event at freeport's arena I decided it would be funny to kill my guild leader. I then got kicked from my guild because "they were all from the military (IRL) and everquest was something serious, not some kind of game and blah blah blah"

I then joined L'Alliance, a french guild, with which I had the most fun in the whole time I played EQ. I remember them saying (in french) "Well guys, I'm working in 2 hours so i gtg" Keep in mind they hadn't slept all night hahaha crazy people

I played Phink Phivefingers first 60 Gnome Rogue on Karana and raided with Valoran until I quit late into Shadows of Luclin Expansion (primarily dominant in Kunark/Velious days). This brings back so many memories.

I'm back playing on live, along with Lysanthus and Koria from Harbingers. I still speak to Sept/Siid occasionally, although I can't seem to track down Lirpa. Do you still keep in touch with any former Harbs?

Deadmantis - Yes, Harbingers had a DKP system.

Interesting guild fact: One of Harbingers members went on to become a lead dev for EQ. The Harbingers Spire zone is a tribute to the guild, and a number of us have NPCs named for us as well. My namesake is in one of the OOW trials.

Anyway, had to register just to say hi. Definitely miss the old days.

Was looking for a thread like this and google didn't fail me! I just recently started with P99 and was curious if there were any other old Karana server peeps like myself playing. I played from shortly after launch up to Luclin. I played a bunch of different toons but my main was a half-elf rogue named Artrimus. Joining me on P99 is my RL brother who also used to play on Karana under the characters Dinerian(half-elf pally) and Melron(gnome wizzy)

On P99 we are currently playing as: Kastan(half-elf rogue) and Dinerian(half-elf pally)

I'm loving P99 and the many warm memories it brings back! Here's to old friends being reunited and new friends being made!

I had a friend in that guild whose name I'm a little hazy on. I believe it was Zen-something. It may have been Zenn, Zendaar, or something similar. His last name in the game might have been Carpenter. He was a wood-elf ranger.

I've been trying to dig up my old EQ screenshots to remember some names but I can't recall what backup hard drive I put them on. I vaguely remember a character named Ereb. Amiao was a close buddy of mine, and i'm sure i know which bards you hit on! After that I moved to Night Eternal. Honestly, I'm not looking to find anyone from there. I enjoyed it, but that time was kind of a blur for me. I remember Valiantt and Ocaria, along with Zoo, Duck, Slicen and a few others. Not many people overall.

Other people I would be elated to find here? Ajexandra/Faunabane, Poetik, Imapercent, Caetana, Ayarie, Hassan, Teollat, Chassy... there's a TON more, but it was ages ago.

Wow! I recognize most guild names and some names. I started on Karana at beginning of Velious and played off/on through Omens. My good friend Maxtin Freeman (Gnome Mage) got me hooked. I was in Sacred Order of Shadows which was part of the Ashborne Alliance(so many great times). I was a Halfling Druid by the name of Giovanii Freeman.

Just started yesterday on this server and brings back so many great memories that I'm going to try to get my friend to play with me again. I'm playing a halfling druid again by the name of Giovannii(not very original I know).

Adding my name to this thread after discovering via a search.

I was (am) a Wood Elf Ranger called Dalston - I played Karana from Velious to GOD - i.e. when EQ2 was released.

Was always a regular casual player in mildly serious / family guilds but much of my time was in Ancient Adventurers where I was an Officer.

I certainly remember some big Guilds mentioned here - Grey Hawke being one of them - along with Silver Daggers, Quo Vadis, Blaze of the Immortals.

I have been back playing and enjoying what is now The Rathe server. but long gone are many of the players I spent so much time with including:

Laeilye - ended at Grey Hawke but I was guilded with in my early levels

Grams, Zymyool, Vonlivae, Gialla, Jovieve/Aeryenne, Ladylake, Agadatua, Wolfendo and others from Ancient Adventurer days

Towinda - one of the funniest (albeit on the edge of humour consistently) players I had the pleasure of knowing.

Came across this board while doing a search so I created a profile. I played on Karana for about 5 years starting in August of 1999. I was part of The Star Gazers originally and later became the Guild Leader. Later we merged with Children of Disorder run by my RL friends Destructress and Kcarcreve.
