The skeleton and spectre models found in classic just blow the live versions out of the water IMO. I am looking for someone with knowledge of how to alter the files so I can fix them for progression servers... if that's even possible.
Any knowledge appreciated.

Hi.
I don't know what models are used for these on live, or whether the live patcher will even let you in with an altered file. But I do know generally how models are loaded and have some experience overwriting one model with another. Can usually be accomplished with some combination of manipulating the order models are loaded in via globalload, and changing the names models are tagged with in the data files -- the client will load just about anything you like as "spectre" as long as it's named "spectre", basically.
You would need a tool/script for the second thing, though, far too complicated for manual hex editing. I make such tools sometimes.

Thank you for your reply.
Now, this makes sense.
I suppose we will need someone with access to the correct old world models, and someone with knowledge of the models that need overwriting. If you are bored enough to create this tool for me, I would be more than obliged.. Also, if there is an easy way to test to see if the patcher even allows such alterations, it would also be more than helpful as the first step. Ruling out the possibility of this would make me somewhat displeased, and I would much rather find out that this is impossible than not to have tried at all.

I recall a post, a very long time ago, about how to change the models on live servers back to their original. So it's definitely possible. I would try honing your google-fu skills and see if you can find it.
