Hello folks,
I’m very happy to have stumbled across Project 1999. My wife and I began playing EQ in December of 1999 and continued until 2004 when Gates of Discord and Omens of War completely and irrevocably ruined the EverQuest experience. In the decade that has pasted, she and I have on occasion mused over our EQ life; friends made and lost. I have often commented wistfully on how nothing since has had the “wow” factor, including WoW. The other day I was saying that it would be nice to login again and run screaming through Kithkor at night…and low and behold I found a way to do it. I’m very eager to log on.
I’m unsure where this will end up. During the heyday of Planes of Power, we were online 8+ hours a day raiding and grinding our faces off. I really don’t have time for that now but I’m not sure all the time I spent in the past would be necessary this go-‘round. I suppose we’ll see.

So,
While I’m waiting for my disks to be shipped for what I hope will be a clean Titanium install, I’ve been doing something OUTLANDISH…i.e. reading the server rules. Crazy right? In general it’s all common sense. Don’t be rude, don’t cheat, take off the ass-hat…logical stuff. The one thing I found puzzling was the ban on two boxing. It’s not a deal breaker but I was hoping to duo a Shaman and a Monk. From what I have read, it is clearly not an option. I’ve no intention of trying to game the system or trying to lobby for change. It’s not my house, I’m only a guest and an uninvited one at that, so I will comply and be grateful for the opportunity to play a game I sorely miss. However, for my own piece of mind, may I request the reason behind the prohibition? If the answer is “because I said so” that’s fine, but more would help me feel better about it - not that that's important.
Thank you for whatever response is received and I look forward to seeing folks in-game. I’ll either be the Shaman hasting mobs or the Monk that pulls like a warrior. In either case, save yourself, run!
Cheers,
Iceborn
