So how are the rest of us enjoying the game? I'm having fun. I managed to get through 9th and 10th level pretty quickly for me and made some money farming rabid wolf pelts in Qeynos Hills.

I hit level 39 and at the urging (constant nagging) of certain guildmates, I began learning alchemy! Selling SoW potions in the EC tunnel has added a whole new dimension to the game... :) Still having a great time on P99!

Same here with rabid animals in the hills. Just made 15... Might head over to Freeport and then Greater Faydark to fight some Orcs when I hit 16. After that? I have no idea, never even made it past level 14 or so when I used to play this game. I had so little time, and so many alts...

For some real drama free playtime, hit up the Siren rocks on your left just after entering OOT from FP.
2 lvl 12 or 13 sirens on a 6 min timer, don't help each other, don't cast, low hp, poor resists and AC.
The loot isn't stellar, but man is it relaxing.
And you get to listen to people fight over the AC and dino camps.

And seafuries. There is always so much drama over seafuries.
I wish I could be a n00b again..
Really wish I played more, it's tough. Not being in a guild and having no one I know who plays the game really kinda sucks, no one to talk to, so I just run around killing gnolls by myself. Grouping is sort of fun, but I feel like I could be getting better xp somewhere else so I frequently end up getting bored and logging off.
Real killer is just not being able to chat about dumb stuff while backstabbing gnolls to death...I need to be social while I game or I feel like I'm playing a single player game with the occasional AI controlled "players" that always nuke the mob I'm about to backstab because I'm being all roguey and sneak/hiding my way into backstabs.
Worth it? Probably not, but it's more fun to play like how I feel like I should be playing rather than shooting for massive efficiency. It'd be cool if sneaking wasn't quite so painfully slow. I read that you DO start moving faster while sneaking in kunark, confirm/deny on that? (Past 50 or whatever, that is)

I just joined a few weeks ago, and I LOVE it.
Level 32 now...I really should slow down on leveling. I grouped for one of the first times today in LGuk, and got trained real good. We were in BR (so asking to get trained,) basically the whole group died. Back in the old days, that would have resulted in shit throwing and loss of xp, but the IB members that did the training came back to rez us up. Shit happens, trains are part of any dungeon crawl, and all is well.
I'm playing this very casually, my main game is still EQMac on the Al'Kabor server. This is just something I do to pass time at work and on the days we are not raiding on AK. So far, it has been a blast, I should really slow down and enjoy every bit of classic content while I can.

I am enjoying playing EQ again. it makes me happy like you would not believe :)
Anyone from Tunare knows that Sephrana was a bard. Well Sephrana on p99 is *gasp* a bard ;)
Feel free to send me a tell to chat if you get bored or need a friend :) I am very friendly and have very few friends on p99 so far. that's why i'm soliciting my old eq friends to come back and play now :)
I'm just running around the area near freeport and relaxing - hanging out....being me :)

thanks for the tip on the sirens, quellren.
Nice meeting you in game, too, torqumada.
Myself, I met some people that I would like to mabe do some tween and teen level grouping with against hard targets maybe 1 or 2 zones away from *cough* bind point lol. Just made level 12 and plan to see more of the world (again) May make plans to take a trip to Highpass, maybe even....Freeport! I heard so much of the east commons...
Completed some the nice hokey newbie quests in Odus and Qeynos.
and of course, delivered mail.

Got myself a Necromancer. Yeah they seem to be popular, but it was my favorite character on Live to 75 and so just have to play it again!
Just up to 16 so far, but keeping all the skills maxed...swimming and fishing of course too! No rush this time around at all and its very fun indeed.
Interesting fact new for me....I started originally around velious opening. From that point on I never got a fallen down message on casting FD. I might fizzle, but when it worked, it worked. Just today I got FD and was surprised to see a "fallen Down" failure message.
Bug or just how it was for caster FD in original? Learn something new everyday!

Great to see some casual folks slowing down to smell the roses around here! My wife and I are having a blast grouping with a lot of the same people each day and finding new areas to hit up as we level together. We also have had no issues finding people in the mid to upper 20's to group with either. I started Live right after Kunark was released. Its been cool learning the zones and camps in Vanilla as well. Still cant wait for Kunark though...

Ditto, Sephrana!!
My BFF and I started P99 not too terribly long ago, and have recaptured the feeling of playing EQ for the purpose of having fun together, and not for the purpose of acquiring STUFF (we both played at release many many moons ago in a raiding guild).
I didn't realize how much I missed Norrath until I came back. :)

Made a Ogre SK named Balog and ran him over to EC for leveling. He's at four so I imagine that's pretty casual. :)
I used to have a DE SK back on Veeshan with EQ Live right around Kunark. Figured I would try some more HP's with the Ogre this time around. It's definitely awesome to see people in the old zones again.

Hey y'all, I just joined p99 and started an dark elf SK last night(name's Feleti). I'm only level 2 and it's been a blast exploring, getting lost, and dying repeatedly - basically reliving being a silly kid!
I'm also remembering how playing EQ by yourself with nobody to chat with can be such a drag! If anyone else wants to start a new character or has one around my level and wants to be leveling buddies, it would be great! Also I could always use advice on how to not be so terrible at the game. ;)

Lol i've been playing since may, and haven't even really tried to hit 50
Currently I'm hitting 43, and I've spent all my time farming stuff so I can enjoy playing with the best possible gear without raiding.
As a solo paladin I've made almost 26k (in the last month) which I thought as a Paladin was always impossible (in classic eq anyways).
This server really rocks because it thrives on player interaction.
If I had been rushing through the game to hit 50 I would prbly have been bored right now,
and would not have my cool-ass soulfire.
Hmm now off to farm enough to get my jboots MQ..
getting sick of begging for SoW's

Level 18. Been in Oasis the last couple of nights and met lots of great people!
Can anyone that knows list for me the best places to find a group on this server through the 20s. Put them in order from most popular to least. (Thanks in advance to any who help)

Not really what I was looking for, but thanks.
What I'm looking for is people's opinion from experience on the server as to which are the best places to actually get a group.
I know the zones and mob levels. What I don't know is if I am like level 25 where the best chance would be for me to find a group. Sol A, Guk, Mistmoore, somewhere else?
They are all level appropriate but the server tendencies would dictate where I should look first to try and set up.

Mistmoore is usually booming with people, same goes for Uguk.

Well, what I do is do a /who all (insert lvl here) and where the most of them are is where I assume people are lvling. I actually saw a solid group in HHK!

Any time I edit or modify a quest, I rewrite it this way. It takes longer, but looks cleaner, and leaves things open for correction in case someone fucks up a quest. And yeah, pretty much all of kunark will be done this way. So many scripts...... we have an entire sub-forum just for scripts now.
