I can't recall, but is the Velious UI capable of having separate text windows to just show /ooc and /shouts in one window ... and then another window to show melee dmg spam, etc?
If someone has this setup with Japino's, could you share your config? (post it maybe?)
I've seen some pretty cool setups on Youtube, but I haven't been able to take the time to figure out how to configure Japino's UI.
Thanks!

I too would love to see pictures of that UI because I can't seem to find any.

I use Japino's UI and like it for the most part but there are a few things you don't seem to have control over. Some windows don't seem to be moveable, I had to basically drag the edges to resize and place it where I wanted. It won't let me have seperate chat windows that float, each time a new person sends a tell it puts it in the same default immovable window. I love the look of it, just has some limitations apparently and I don't know enough about the UI config to fix it. One thing I would love is to have an actual mana number for tracking my wis/mana upgrades.

I don't need anything too fancy. I just basically want to separate my text windows out so I don't get so confused. /ooc has been getting a lot busier and unfortunately it doesn't take too many /ooc chat whores to force me to put /ooc on hide (YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE!).

Downside is no text mana display.
It's easy to set up, just right click the current chat window -> New Chat Window. Then right click the new chat window and filter ooc into it.
Careful resizing the windows though, if you make them too small the client immediately crashes.

Hmm, I use the default UI and I have no issues. I am currently using 4 different chat windows:
ooc/group
say/auction/spell wears off
melee spam/spells
guild/tell
Not having any issues with doing pretty much anything I want with the default UI. Will post screenshots later.

Thank you! You provided the exact answers I was looking for... can't believe I didn't figure that out myself as many times as I've accidentally right clicked a window and it brings up that dumb menu! :)

Wonder if there is a way to edit the UI files so we still get that look, but maybe keep the new inventory screen or something so we can still see how much mana we have? No idea how custom EQ ui's work, but would something like that even be possible?

Do you mean seeing how much mana you have outside of the inventory window?
Because currently I see hp and mana percentages on the HUD and I can see the full numbers in my inventory window.

Well, that's for the default ui, but not Japino's Classic UI, which is what this thread is about. As you can see from the screenshots I posted above, there are no numerical values for mana anywhere.

Yeah, I dig.
I just don't understand what the advantage is of switching to that UI at all. Doesn't seem to have any perks over the default one and seems to be missing a bunch of stuff. Just curious why people choose it?

I was using it for awhile for nostalgia, but really the new UI is so versatile that I ended up going back to it.
