Im becoming paranoid im wasting some serious time killing the wrong mobs in an attempt to loot some of the guardian armor set in skyshrine.

So far ive been killing the same three Guardian XXX repeatedly the last three evenings (probably about 15 hours total) and so far had zero armor, a few garg eyes, 2 coin purses and some velium bricks.

Basically just wondering if anyone knows if all "Guardian xxxx" that are gargoyles have the same loot tables (with armor pieces) / or are there only some / certain areas?

Or is it just so rare you need like a weeks farming to loot one piece??

Any info would be cool

Yes, and you need to kill way more than 3 per cycle if you want to get armor drops.

I got 6 armor pieces on my lvl 5 paladin from camping these guardian over a few days. I would say every 10-12 mob I would see a drop(armor, thrash wep, coin purse, velium blocks).

Make friends with others camping them in zone and ask them if they can let you know if any are rotting, most of them are only after the robe. Often someone is sitting at the pond killing the 4 named gargs there.

Man. 4 evenings now and nada. Must have killed a good 60 to 80 by now.

the ones im killing have about 5k hp so im assuming they are the correct type

I am up to about 1,300 named Guardians killed since Velious. Still have yet to see a robe, breastplate, or shield. Only 1 sword.

The drops are completely random, and have had days where 5 leggings dropped in 3 rotation clears.

I would give exact numbers on kills, and drop numbers of each piece, but unfortunately my ssd died and I lost all my logs dating back since Velious launch. Though bracer seems to stick out to me as most common.

Anecdotal from live:

I leveled my dark elf SK from 30 to 44 in Skyshrine. I wanted to win Fashionquest.

When I finally burned out and threw in the towel, I was still missing a piece.

Guardian armor is incredibly rare.

The stuff in Icewell seemed to be a bit less rare, but that awful tint on it means you're not going to win Fashionquest.

which ones out of interest? The ones im killing havent dropped anything besides vendor trash in about 5 days

hmm, im killing gargoyle guardians that have names.

not seen any called "A gargoyle guardian"

I'd estimate i've killed 20 per evening - so, so far about 100 over the last week

any guardian that has a name can drop it, I have looted armor in staircase near WL zl, at pond to CS and after the pond from the higer level gargoyles. I killed more cubes than gargoyles and only had 2 crappy drops from them. Its just very random
