Tale of Two Guilds

This simplifies the story between Rampage and Forsaken so that intellects at every level can understand the story.

In the sleepy little town of Norrath, there lived a fat kid named Billy (Rampage). He was a bully.

Bobby, the Golden Haired boy (Forsaken) lived on the other side of town and was maybe just a little smaller than Billy, but much smarter and equally as tough.

The two met in the park one day (Velious) and Billy tried to bully Bobby. Only he realized quickly it was a battle he couldn't win so he hit him with some brass chuckles.

When Bobby realized it was hard to take on a cheating bully by himself, he called his other Golden Haired cousin Tommy (Asgard). Together, they gave Billy the fucking ass kicking of his life.

When Billy realized he couldn't complete against both Bobby and Tommy in a fight, he called over his retarded cousin Steve to help him beat Bobby and Tommy. We don't even have to guess who Steve is here. Well when they met in the park, retarded Steve got fixated on a squirrel and stood by unsure of what to do while Billy got his ass handed to him once again by Bobby and Tommy.

With the realization that he was no longer king of the park, Billy walked over and took the soccer ball away from some poor Mexican kids playing soccer (rest of the server) and went home.

Moral of the Story:
Don't let someone take your soccer ball, join Forsaken.

“This island of Sodors mayor, Lord Vulak’Aerr… Lord Vulak” He paused, trying to regain his composure “Lord Vulak has awarded Forsakengard Expressway with the…”
Gordon noticed the curl under his hips as he continued.

“Rock of Gharn.” Hokushin lay silent, his glare not at Gordon but on the distance. As if he was peering into another dimension. One where he may feel more vindicated Gordon imagined.

Gordon began to speak for the first time. “Sir, that award isn’t really all that great. I’m not sure why –“ Hokushin interrupted Gordon and immediately started jumping on the spot like a three year old having a tantrum.

“I want it, I want it, I was to be server first. The first monk on the server, I deserved it, you all let me down.” He stopped jumping. “You don’t deserve me as head station master.”

“Theres only one thing to do.” he said, again regaining some of his limited composure. “It’s time to wake Thomas.

Actually it is the tale of 5 guids =)

You have to remember Rampage tried to pick up Divinity to bolster your ranks, but they sucked and couldn't hang so you picked up taken who fields about as many members as Forsaken/Asgard combined on half the encounters.

Please continue to reference Forsaken/Asgard zerg force though. It lends great credibility to your arguments.

Rememer when we got suspended from dagarn for 4 weeks? What happened? Oh yeah it wasn't pursued. asgards numbers didn't go up.

If you drop an FTE you should have to wait until the mob resets. The raid rules clearly state that you are not allowed to stall or kite. Among other things, a fixed time does not work because its impossible to prove in the logs how long the engage was dropped for. Guilds should either wait until they have a sufficient kill force and their entire pull team in place, or chance it and concede if they fuck up. Again, I think if Lazie wasn't in spin mode he'd agree to this.

What we need is public raid petitions. I know I would have so much fun lawyering, and I'm sure Unbrella would too. I pushed hard for us to publish our KT fraps in the Raid Discussion forum but I was, as usual, ignored. I think it would save a lot of GM time, and especially after some precedents were worked out things would run much more smoothly.

Rez box battle is a legitimate tactic when you actually are making progress on a mob. I would even say ~maybe~ bare minimum a sufficient DPS to prevent mob regeneration. But throwing bodies and constantly establishing FTE while a mob regenerates from 12% to 30% thats a stall

As CT starts setting off new FTEs we proceed to get FTE and finish CT.

It's borderline, probably shouldn't be allowed but it sure is delicious to witness ;)

I guess both sides could argue about each others tactics all day. All were hard fought battles and in the spirit of competition. I originally posted this story for fun not thinking it would generate an ongoing dispute of "butt-hurtedness". Rampage was a wonderful guild for a long time. Spirited competitors but like all top guilds they fall. Burn out takes its toll.

We hope to see you all reform and challenge us again. Probably not gonna happen with the retarded brother Steve steering the car but I am sure we will see you again.

Stalling for what? The super emergency batphone that summons the 50 extra people who only respond to high priority requests? I guess I just don't think this is something that needs a rule. Most of the time it's going to result in a wipe anyway, and maybe people get it together and win, in which case it suddenly going to become a pretty fun encounter compared to the usual 'zerg with 5x the intended numbers'. Of course, if the mob is at 99% or whatnot things are different.

In any case, you are just deflecting from the main point that kiting mobs god knows where, dropping them for 20 seconds, and claiming BUT YOU COULD HAVE GOTTEN FTE is in fact a significant barrier for a competing guild and should be punished as a violation of the raid rules.

I guess both sides could argue about each others tactics all day. All were hard fought battles and in the spirit of competition. I originally posted this story for fun not thinking it would generate an ongoing dispute of "butt-hurtedness". Rampage was a wonderful guild for a long time. Spirited competitors but like all top guilds they fall. Burn out takes its toll.

We hope to see you all reform and challenge us again. Probably not gonna happen with the retarded brother Steve steering the car but I am sure we will see you again.

Meanwhile, we are going to enjoy the loot fest you guys enjoyed at the beginning of Velious.
