Alright Rogean, you got us. That was a great laugh. A great, months-long laugh. "It's Classic!" they argued. You went along with that for the laughs, and laughs have been had. But now it's time to get serious and bring back the spell timers.

We had our fun, but the joke has gone on long enough. Time for spell timers to come back again.

I don't even notice that they don't have a timer anymore

Just gotta get that feel for how long buffs last

Hey, that's a valuable post. Is it... risky? Ban-wise? A person using that program, would such a person be at risk of getting hit by the banhammer?

overlays/voice alarms like that are allowed last i checked. almost everyone runs it on red and i've never heard of a ban. i don't bother, but only because i play melee and i play on a trashcan computer that would probably lag.

I made a python library (part of my bigger cross platform python/qt parser) that, 100% based on the log file and spells_us.txt, will automatically track/time every single spell you cast (buffs and debuffs) (no need to manually setup triggers) (on other targets) in a nice gui that can be overlayed over a windowed client.

I haven't used it other than to test it. It def. doesn't mess directly with the client and only uses the log file plus the spells_us.txt for source data.

I don't see anywhere that says its bannable. Id like to, once I am done my program, release it but I am a little wary of the bannability of it.

Log reading programs are allowed so long as they do not input commands into EQ.

GINA doesn't and is therefore allowed.

It just can display overlays and timers as needed but it won't cast a spell or sit or stand for you. It'll just yell at you to do those things.

Classic buff timer built into hardware, no log parsing required:

Egg timer is super classic.

Back In the ole day; me and my brother hijacked moms egg timer to keep track of buff duration.... which seemed great, until we realized we broke it a bit and it didn't keep track of time very well... was refreshing buffs a bit to early. didn't catch it until someone else in group with a Good egg timer was like "WTF? waste of mana."

memories.

I thought for sure this was going to end with your mom burning the Thanksgiving turkey (or some other dish) to a crisp.
