Anyone got a link or good setup they wish to share for raising resists? Trying to get my rangers resists up. Level 58.

maybe the wiki? Such as: http://wiki.project1999.com/Special:ClassSlotEquip/Ranger/Back/AllItems

Then press the sort say like over MR. Can do this for each ranger slot.

Whats ur budget? U talking just MR? Velium jacinth rings +14mr, velium BD bracelets roughly +9 all (some +11) earring of essence 10mr, tranix crown 20mr, wurm scale coat 10mr. Some other stuff too but those are the most common i think wearable by all.

Yes, use the wiki. My advice is, unless you have lots of plat, be frugal. I am pretty sure most high end players carry around their set of "I kick ass" gear, plus another set labeled "I do not want to die to an ae." My resist bag in my inventory gimps my stats, but at least I am not "that guy" who gets hit by every spell for full dmg. As melee not eating every ae for full dmg is incredibly important. You will want two BD bracers, which are still pricey, but other than those, you can get lots of cheep stuff with bad stats except for their resists. That's what I use. I would say, 5k should get you resist geared up.

BTW you know DT isn't resistable right?

Sorry, that was obligatory.

Honestly, a lot of the time no one wears a resistance back until they get a raid drop. Resistances come at the cost of +hp a lot of times, so they need to be high enough to justify losing the +hp. Lodizal Shell Shield would be a great item, because the resists are high enough to make up for the hp. But obviously that item is really expensive and hence why most just wait for a raid drop. The one exception perhaps is the cold resit cloak: Seahorse Scale Cloak... but they can be hard to find in my experience.

If you want to get some basic resist gear for dirt cheap, just get the outdated MR and resist all rings that are +7 instead of +8 (or +13 instead of +14). Otherwise just buy the modern ones -- which aren't that bad either.

Get a golden diamond mask. Eye patch of plunder is the best non-raid mask...but extremely bottlenecked.

There really is no way around it, you need a Tranix Crown and Froglok King Crown (the second being much more affordable).

I would get a Wurm Scale Coat, its pretty hard to get decent FR without.

Of course, blue diamond jewelry in general is good. You might be able to farm the blue diamonds yourself in seb and then find a guild crafter for the jewelry. Before getting the neck, I would note that passable necks can be easy to get if you get people in your raid guild to farm the dragons in WW for half a day.

Ignore Poison/Disease resist. Disease resist is a useless raid stat on this server (debatable if that is truely classic or not); Poison is almost useless and you don't need much thanks to DMF.

Generally speaking, MR is the most important. However, you should not be killing yourself trying to get resists quickly unless you are a member of FA -- because frankly -- they are the only ones that use them all the time and might actually insist you get them.

vel blue diamond set (2 earrings (http://wiki.project1999.com/Blue_Diamond_Electrum_Earring), 2 bracers (http://wiki.project1999.com/Velium_Blue_Diamond_Bracelet)) 44 Mr/30firecold/40 Poi
Lodi shield (http://wiki.project1999.com/Lodizal_Shell_Shield) +20fire/cold 10MR
Wurmscale Coat (http://wiki.project1999.com/Wurm_Scale_Coat)20 Fire 10Mr
Shield of the Red (http://wiki.project1999.com/Shield_of_the_Red_Dragon)/Water (http://wiki.project1999.com/Shield_of_the_Water_Dragon) Dragon +/- 40 20 mr/fire/cold
Hallowed Bone Bracers (http://wiki.project1999.com/Hollowed_Bone_Bracers) 7 Mr
Tranix crown (http://wiki.project1999.com/Crown_of_King_Tranix) 20mr

That leaves with you with a pretty solid set of resists for groupable gear & plenty of slots to get your mana/hp with or to stack more resists on.. Roughly gives you:

100 Mr
100 Fire
60 Cold
50 Poi

From there you can start replacing with raidable stuff, but it's a solid build to start a magic immune inventory.

I believe so.

EDIT: in my original post I didn't mention Dark Scale Greaves (+2 to all) and Mithril Greaves (+ 5 MR) for potential pre-HoT legs. You can also get Mithril Vambraces for sleeves that are +5 mr. It is worth noting that Silver Chains is a good first raid item because it is a lot better than droppables for good for both pants and sleeves slot.

Guess I'll be socking stormfeather soon. Thank god Lodi drops up to 3 map pieces per death.
