Guess there's not much else to say if we can't even agree on reality. If you can look at P99 raid scene (especially ToV) and say to yourself "Yep no problems to fix here" then I don't even know what to say anymore. Feel like I'm trying to explain scientific fact to the insanely religious portion of my family. Or yelling at a brick wall.

You keep wanting to fix the raid scene and all you can come up with is rotate mobs. This is thinly veiled selfishness to get loot for you, to "help the server". There is nothing going on in ToV that doesn't or couldn't already happen on every other raid mob on this server. You aren't, can't, or refuse to do what it takes to get mobs in ToV. So you want people who will, to be limited to 2 mobs and give the rest to you and others like you.

people who are willing to wake up at 4am or duck cast coth for 10 hours to slay dragons don't really deserve any kind of praise. you are all sick individuals who need to seek help. rotations are also stupid because most of the raid content is not difficult and guilds would be waiting months in between kills.

the only way to win is to just quit. relish in the fact that the majority of you have finally got to do things you didn't 16 years ago and move on with your lives. farming this content into the future the way it is being done now is insanity. are you holding out for custom content? you actually believe there will ever be custom content being released at a pace to satisfy the hundreds of raid capable characters?

please continue to wallow in tov though for the next several years as at least these boards are a some what enjoyable experience to load up and read every few days. the cry baby shit posts from blue are needed as even though Red has the superior RNF there just isn't enough of a population over there to pump out enough entertaining posts.

Yeah all most of us are waiting for (outside of Rogean intervention) is for those sad tools to realize this fact and quit so that the rest of us can kill ToV dragons for a bit and then quit too.

Problem is, that subset of P99 farmed Kunark with 96 and 16 hour variance for 5 years. They are probably just insane.

Not seeing the logic in complaining about what losers we must be to be doing this, in an attempt to argue that everybody should be able to do it. We know dude. We're nuts.

Rules and mechanics can change/nerf all they want in ntov, but the same crazy people willing to go to extra lengths to do things a little better than everybody else will continue to get mobs. Currently they are guilds making up over 200 of the players wanting to raid ntov. At what point are we at equilibrium level that the correct amount of people are killing ntov? It can't be everybody.

Why don't I see any guilds other than Awakened or FA at Yelinak? It's basically a Trak engage. There are no shenanigans like training mobs around to quick pull. We coth to perma rooted dragon and do a running head/class count to race to engage it. We also fight Zlandi in his lair. Props to CSG for downing a couple of recent Klandi's.

People like to fall back on the fact that the pull/fte methods in ntov close the content off because they don't want to get involved, but let's be honest with each other here. You don't want to compete with the crew of neckbeards willing to put in extra work to secure FTE's and kills, and nobody blames you.

A rotation is the only solution that will open ntov up to everybody, but it's just not likely to happen.

How about giving a month or 6 week lockout instanced ntov so less insane people can have a go without making those rare loots too common. With instances at such a rarity the open world contest would still be a high incentive for everyone. Could lock instances based on guild name too, so anyone in that guild(s) could not avoid lockout if they were not there and request another. The only flip side is people would probably start making new guilds for their alts such is the pixel list here.

I personally loved open world content but they way it happens on this server is really quite sad and for those of us that don't want to sit staring at a screen for 16 hours an alternative (albeit a very infrequent one) would be nice.

No one has to sit at their screen for 16 hours to experience end game content.
Why dont you app to Forsaken and find out actually how easy it is to be in a raid guild? I will sponsor you as a fellow limey.

Would never app to a guild where you have to have manditory attendance and loot councils. Pretty busy and active life here thus being ready to log on at any given time is not an option. Now for example I am unable to log on for another week or so. It makes me no less of a decent player nor any less capable of killing easy raid mobs of this era. I think the first expansion where raid mobs could even start to be considered difficult was late ep in pop and gates of discord. Gates was for the most part instanced. Instanced tov would probably be trivial for the guilds with bloated rosters and interchangeable alts to make a near perfect raid composition, but for the guild without that an instanced traditional crawl through ntov would be challenging and fun.

Once again 100% agree with Pokesan. It's attitudes like this at the top of the economic ladder that's LITERALLY destroying the planet. Now its ruining my P99 gaming experience too. FA/Awakened are basically the Koch Bros.

I think that's a slight exaggeration ...

Example: Say a person has to fight over their food every night. This goes on for nearly a year. Then all of a sudden this new guy comes in, and they bring him his food on a silver platter without having to struggle or fight to eat.

You think that's fair to the person that's been fighting to eat all this time? Hell no its not

If the other guilds want to eat, make them fight for it. Forget that rotation BS

I said this before and I will say it again. If I was in FA or Awakened and was contemplating a rotation. I sure as hell wouldn't make it public. It would just be a silent agreement between the leadership of the two guilds.

Once upon a time on live only top tier raiding guilds got top end raiding content. In this regard p99 is no different. I know you're feeling all nostalgic by playing here, and are all gun-ho about doing the stuff you didn't get to do on live, but that's just not going to happen. Same reasons you didn't get to do this on live, are the same as p99.

We will give you nothing, you must take it. You want to put in no effort, to get BiS items, and about 15% of the server, that actually bothers with this content, disagrees with you. Everquest was never an all inclusive everyone shares game, that is part of its appeal. One upping each other for the best items you can get.

You new here? Or just braindead and forgot that less than a year ago there was a rotation and class system on this server that allowed near everyone with a pulse to experience all raid content in game minus VP? Who's to say the same (or similar) thing couldn't return with Sleeper's Tomb taking the place of VP as the "No Lifers Only" zone? Server staff has said multiple times in the past that if shit got out of control in Velious that a system like that could return.

Did you forget the rotation broke down because everyone and their mother wanted a piece of the action, the loot queue got too long and the stronger guilds within the R system just pushed everyone else out?

Hypothetically speaking if a class system was re-established(unlikely) northwing would likely still be off limits to R class guilds. As it is the carrot on the end of the stick to keep guilds from slumming around in the little leagues.

Shit out of control was back when TMO literally took every raid mob in the game every week. There is competition, nobody is getting everything, shit is fine. You only consider it out of control because you haven't applied yourself to get the best stuff, and want that shit for easy free.

ArumTP

Freezi
Ways to get NtoV and other top tier loots.

#1 join a guild that is already killing that stuff.
#2 convince your guild to go for it or form an alliance of guilds to make an attempt to get it.

This also applies to other raid targets outside velious.

People don't take to kindly to demands of loot being just simply given to others that complain real loud that they want some.

ArumTP
03-11-2016, 12:50 AM
Where have I heard that before? Oh yea I think TMO said that before the class system was implemented.

Apples and oranges.

TMO at the time had a complete domination of the server. In the current its about 50/50 on top tier velious targets between Awakened/FA with a bit of VP thrown in here and there. All of kunark and lesser velious targets everyone else gets. BDA I recall is aggressive about VP. Other guilds could step up and start there, after all those trak teeth are a lot easier to get now. I've also witnessed an emergent Dvinity-Anonymous alliance, that would hold potential for being a disruptive raid force in the upper end of the raid scene.

Point being that it isn't just one guild getting everything, no need to rotate, everyone is getting ~some~ targets. Be happy with your self imposed limitations.

There is no difference between 1 guid or 2 guilds dominating all the content; it still blocks content for everyon else. Which is fine in the short term. But after a few years (assuming p99 is as strong) this will change if Rogean/Nilbog follow the precedent set with regards the class system put in place previously. So make the most of it while you can... which i guess you're doing.

What I'd like to see is everyone and anyone getting themselves into ToV to force your (foreskin/awakened) hand. Imagine 500 people in ToV disrupting the zone so much you get jack shit, that would be beautiful.

I mostly just enjoy playing on a server that has other ppl on it

Nah Red is just as bad for so many reasons. Some people are just too miserable to be allowed out in real life and most other people stay away from a server that is all but done. Red needs 200+ more steady players at least.

As it stands now, most zones have no one in them and PvP consists of new players getting steam rolled by people who have played since P1999 Red launch. No real skill required, simply press a few keys and let the twink gear do the rest.

That said, BLUE seems like a total waste of time. I can't see rolling a toon on a server that is this messed up.

If Red had a healthy population I'd probly reroll there and play it full time. But imo it needs to have like 500-600 ppl at primetime and no less than like 250 on off-hours. Any less than that and it starts to feel ghost town-y as fuck to me. That plus they need to do something about plugging cuz when I played Red literally 90% or more of the PvP fights I was ever in involved somebody plugging. Need to just code it so a ghost of ur char pops on other side and can be killed or something. I'm guilty of plugging myself sometimes mostly cause I wanted to avoid a long CR run from some shitty fungi twink in CB/MM but it's definitely a bad mechanic for a PvP server to have.

I have also noticed that the login server population #s do not actually reflect the numbers in the game when I do a /who count all. It said earlier that 80 people were on the server but when I logged in 30 seconds later, the population was listed at under 60.

Why is it dead? The gear imbalance between newbs and long term players is so vast that it is pointless for most new players to engage in most pvp. The exp bonus is nice to level with but if something is not done to help new players get gear then levelling to 60 is basically just a great way to ensure your win loss ratio @ 1 win / 60 deaths. Thus the population will continue a long slide to oblivion.

The newbie guild Thunderdome is alright but frankly they do jack all to prevent gankers and flat out ignore numerous warning regarding spies in their guild. I have watched people complain about player X, Y and Z being spies for guilds that gank TD members and nothing gets done for quite some time.

This will only contribute to the steady server decline.

I'm guilty of plugging myself sometimes mostly cause I wanted to avoid a long CR run from some shitty fungi twink in CB/MM but it's definitely a bad mechanic for a PvP server to have.

In my opinion pvp servers should be wiped every 3 - 5 years to renew the server population. It is not just about a shitty fungi twink, its the shitty fungi twink who not only ganks a newb group but insists on driving them out of a zone by camping their corpses or the zone in entrance. I have watched this repeatedly and been told by my guild to "avoid" those zones. What a joke. No real help, just cow tailing to the twinks.

It really is the lamest form of PvP going when someone has that much gear and insists on pushing newbies off the server.

Wow bro - sounds like Red is a blast

http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=plugging

Plugging - administering the drug extasy, (MDMA), rectally. The more the capillary exposure, the higher you get

Plugging - The anal administration of any drug. Most commonly done with MDMA, DMT, or 2cb

Plugging - when a girl puts on a strap on and does a guy in the ass

Plugging - The act of drilling a 1 and a half inch hole in a woman's back, and proceeding to fuck her in that hole

Plugging - people soaking tampons in alcohol and then inserting them rectally.
