it's a questable mace from posky I am just curious as to the proc rate as my cleric has over 180 dex unbuffed in her wisdom gear.

Medding will always outweight the mana recovery of this item.

Yeah, maybe people don't think the Theurgist's Star is as good as medding because no one has ever geared up a cleric to max dex. Maybe it's an unexplored way to play the class. I doubt it, though, because EQ doesn't really give much freedom as to how to play each class. They're all quite limited.

that smoldering cudgel from VP is pretty beast on any wis caster for beating stuff down in pve. the proc is like a 300dd fire.

I enjoy mine with shaman buffs and asking the shaman to /duel you + slow
Get lots of procs that way and +75 mana does add up quickly

I had a Theurgist's Star on Live just before I stopped paying. With close to max Dex it proc'ed often enough that I found I could solo blue and yellow's with a regular and reverse ds easily. However, in a group setting such as Walls of Slaughter in Omens of War, I found that the mana gain (even with max flowing thought) didn't offset the need to throw out a heal over time or CH and sit and med between those. So, it's situational. You'll find that you can solo using this weapon but that freedom leash only goes so far. There are other groups, such as an AE dps with casters, where this could be handy because of the need to stand on pulls. It's a cool toy and worth the trouble.

What is your dex though? "with shaman buffs" doesn't mean much to me when I don't know what you have without shaman buffs. I can get 255 dex unbuffed if it procs enough to offset the loss in mana. Assume I am meleeing the entire fight save celestial elixirs and exile undeads

Some people go through life picking apart the work of others. I am a dreamer. I believe in innovation and expanding my perspective. That's how I choose to live my life. Maybe you can go around telling other people what they "can't" do and still sleep at night, but I know for damn sure that I wouldn't be able to.

get yourself slowed and just stand and take a swing in between mana ticks. could even do it to the person who dueled and slowed you if you dont want to get too close to the mob in question

I feel as if everyone is missing the point. this wouldn't be for normal situations, this is a very niche item for a very niche purpose.
All I would like to know is how often it procs for those who have it AND what their dex was when they tested it.

Cleric pet + melee is actually ok for a cleric to solo stuff (using the mage quest items to reclaim energy right before mob dies).
You can get pretty tanky as a cleric, then just throw yourself a CH now and then.
Getting the star is soooo hard though. The mace for the turn in is super super super rare.....
Dawnfire is also really strong on a cleric in guk :3 Random 550ish damage proc is pretty nice.

dawnfire is really good in CoM too. you can borderline powerlevel yourself with one. awesome on red with the bonus exp + low value of the item.

there was a list of items and there "proc" value posted once
how proc's work on p99 have been modified to be a cleaner, non classic form of live
all weapons across the board have had there proc rate adjusted to one value
items like barb spirit hammer and some other "rare" proc weapons have been toned down ... I forgot why but it was posted awhile back, years if I remember
rip your non classic proc not dex friendly emu

You are incorrect. Please read the thread located here (https://www.project1999.com/forums/showthread.php?t=125483&highlight=barbarian+spirit+hammer).
It's classic.

Still looking for any cleric that might have this item and would be willing to tell me how much dex they had when they used it.

98 dex. But again, its not that great of item. It's a hey look at this nifty toy I can pull out on occasion and maybe I'll get a proc. Dex is an extremely passive stat for clerics. The fact that you got 180 dex unbuffed, is a bit ridiculous. Did you even hit WIS cap of 255, did you get the best possible + mana items you can get? That is a better direction to go than trying to get this item to work.

I do n't hit the wis cap I have 219 wis in that gear my cleric is only 55 and 2786 mana (i was wrong btw my dex is 170 unbuffed)
EDIT: other unbuffed stats if relevant: 1233 hp, 95 pr, 127 mr, 100 dr, 117 fr, 124 cr
EDIT2: my unbuffed fr is only 102 i didnt realize i had ragefire arms ds on when i checked before.
EDIT3: I had some time to make a magelo page http://wiki.project1999.com/Magelo_Red:LucillesCleric
i equiped the theirgist's star instead of epic for the purpose of seeing what the stats would be with it on. also, some calcs on the magelo dont line up perfectly with in game for example in game my hp is 1233 and on the magelo it says 1234
I realize that on blue in a raid you want 255 wisdom and the rest straight into mana but I am neither raiding nor on blue.

Just on red. :(
It is a fun toy. I'd use it when I wanted to roll battle cleric style in a group. I also had Cloak of Piety for haste and full Ragefire armor to up that dex to 200+ with shaman buffs. If fighting undead, then I'd use Dawnfire for DPS mode (fighting in the undead tower in the hole = full on DPS mode with manastone). Note: I also had pre-nerf Donal's BP and Gheal staff from VP, so mana was never really a problem anyway.
I would use Star and Dawnfire with a hotkey like some shaman's canni-dancing. Requires sitting in melee range of the mob and keeping a tight watch not only on server ticks, but people's health. Hitting a pause based hotkey at the wrong time can kill a party member.
/sit off
/pause 30, /attack on (whatever was enough /pause to get 2 attack rounds)
/sit on
Also a great resist item for Poison/DR fights.
Those of us that had them on Blue used them in the BotB and swapped them out for cudgel depending on the situation (not like that farce red cleric BotB).

I have been sitting every six seconds while running for the last 16 years this is exactly how I would use it [except manually and not a macro] :) thanks for the great information, ele.
