Question for everyone. I understand there's a donation etiquette for porting, but what about enchanting? It was brought up to me that paying to have ore enchanted would be appropriate, which I can see.

So, in my case, I regularly need Berilium enchanted, and that particular spell costs 300m to cast, per block. What would a proper donation be for getting a stack of 20 bricks enchanted? Or, any particular ore used for cultural tradeskills?

You're in a tradeskill guild and don't have a guy for this?

Our regular guy has been in the hospital, and we're a small guild. We have to outsource from time to time

The lowest amount that you find persuades people to cast it for you.

It costs us 300m roughly to cast a port. So if you want to break it down to mana vs plat that would be 50p a bar.

^^^ this right here :)

Really just discuss it up front and come to an agreement with whoever is going to be investing their time on your profit.

I usually just ask what they want and then negotiate if it's a bit high. Usually they have no idea what they'd want to charge because it's a rare request.

(Although as you probably know, generally I stick with asking friends, who get free ports from me all the time anyway.)

that interest me, for the moment I'm not doing cultural to gain money, just for my personal use, guildies have been nice and helped and I paid the spell/donated but I'm probably on the low side, getting the correct value if I have to buy that would be quite interesting

This is what I charge to summon a stack of Clear Vials of Mana. That spell is 600 mana and it takes me about 45 minutes to complete.

All good advices here. Last time I enchanted 10x stacks of brellium for a fellow and he gave me an enchanted dwarven BP for free. But honestly, I didnt ask for anything to begin with, I was happy to help. On the other side, I remember enchanting 5x stacks for someone else, and I barely got a cold "thanks"... I wasnt pissed off but I thought it was a bit rude/ A big thanks would have been better, with some kind words at least.
Just be nice and fair without over valuing that stuff, EQ is better played without price charts, especially on services like that, otherwise it sort of kills "interaction", as people tends to just throw coins in da machine, waiting for stuff to be ready
