I got a new PC and everytime I camp from a character, at 0 seconds I get a crash.
Then to log into another character or account I have to wait until the IP block is up.. or my LD self has dissipated.. whatever you want to call it.
Is there any idea what can cause these crash on camp outs? any advice for trouble shooting my system to see what the problem is?

I used to have this problem. Only thing I ever got to fix all my p99 issues was clean reinstall windows.

I moved my Sony directory to my c:/ drive root and it seems to have had an effect for the better (moving it out of program files 86x)

Well... moving it to root c:/ did not solve my problem.. I did however get this error this time.

I should preface this by saying, this is already a fresh window install.

Windows 8 and up has to being in the program's folder.
I've yet to figure out the reason behind the crashing. I think it might be linked to full screen mode. Cause it only happens on my Windows 8 machine that is in full screen mode. I think switching between resolutions freaks it out to the point where it doesn't know what to do but crash. I know so technical right lol.
I have it install on 7 8 and 10.

I am running win 10.
I had the sony folder in the programfiles86x folder, but that was crashing.. so i moved it out and it seemed to help last night.. but then i got a crash after like 6 or 7 login logouts...
this morning, i got a crash every time after a restart. but then it started to stop, last 3 have been successful.. but no change in my behavior :(
So its reporducable, but not by 100%
I have not tried moving to the regular program files folder.. or moving the EVERQUEST folder (which resides inside the sony one) to the root c:/ yet... I Might try that next.
not sure if we have to have this sony folder?

I have the same problem after building my new PC too, but its not every time I camp. its the 5th time i camp without restarting the client.
5th time, every time. And i get the same exact error message you posted.

You don't but you do need to keep it in the x86 folder or it will eventually freak out. The game tries to look for something that's not there which I think overloads the client and causes a memory leak.
The crashing has been a problem for some time, I think they just don't have a fix for this yet and there are work a rounds to minimalize it so it's not priority.

Yikes this is so not true, many of us have been running outside the "protected directories" for years and years.

With Windows 8 and up. Not saying it's going to crash everytime but it's like a snow ball rolling down a hill. Once it gets going to won't stop til you have to do something drastic like reinstall.

Still not buying it, I've been running Windows 10 since at least November 2015, EQ has always been in c:\sony\everquest... and I've never experienced the "snowball" effect. And as a side note, my EQ directory has been outside of C:\program files & c:\program files (x86) since my account create date on these forums with out the "snowball" crashing issue.

Well than consider yourself the 1% of EQ, cause it is happening people are just doing the short fixes and not posting about it.
I would like to know how you install your client. From a downloaded ISO , Duxia , or actual discs.
Maybe that plays a factor in it as well.
Also do you use WinEQ, Launch.bat or another way to log into the client. Since you are untouched maybe we could get some info off how you go about getting in game and keeping yourself from crashing.

Years ago, circa late 2010, I downloaded the .iso files and had installed them on a Windows 7 machine. However that install has been copied from that machine to every new machine I use. This current machine that I'm typing on has never had EQ "installed" rather the directory from a "working" machine copied to it. this is the same directory that I use on my desktop. I use no 3rd party applications to launch it, I've simply created a shortcut to my eqgame.exe and launch, make sure you include the patchme argument. A screen shot of that shortcut that I use can be found in this forum.

I believe its related to the app running in full screen/focus.
I often see this in dual screen config (fullscreen on screen 1) but I have not had this with the second screen disabled.
Not sure what the answer is yet.
The info on directories is just non-sense, even if you had a non admin account it would still work by redirecting to a virtualstore. (Vista onwards)
Every now and the I mess around with appcompat shims but I am finding it mostly its the legacy dx7 stuff flagging problems.

I run 1 monitor
windowed mode eq (not fullscreen)
resolution changes dont affect this crash for me.
I get it about 80% of the time
50% of the time i can log right back into the game the other 50 i have to wait for IP block to get pushed out.
Sony folder in root C directory...
Still getting it, sadface.

Have you seen this error with any other applications or the OS itself?
How much RAM does the machine have?
Have to adjusted the paging file size or location?
Have you run the built-in memory diagnostic?
Have you tried reinstalling Titanium and just copying your UI and settings back over?

Have to adjusted the paging file size or location? Not sure what this means, can u elaborate?
Have you run the built-in memory diagnostic? idk about this either ill google it tho
Have you tried reinstalling Titanium and just copying your UI and settings back over? I originally unzipped my folder into my programfiles86 folder but copy/pasted that folder to the root C because someone said that may fix it. Its currently at C:/sony/everquest/launch_titanium.bat

If you don't know what I'm talking about with the paging file, don't worry Windows will manage that; size and location so never mind that.
The built in diagnostic for memory can be found in the control panel (small or large icon view) -> Administrative Tools. It will require a reboot and will take a long while to complete.
Do you have Titanium discs to reinstall with?

I would go one step further and say editing the page file is a clear indication that you are in territory you dont understand.
Win7 and up... dont touch page file settings. Windows is doing it for you.
