View Full Version : Proposed raid system

New raid system -
Aftermath and Awakened get 35-40% (each) of ToV dragons
BDA gets 10-20%
CSG 5-10%
Anon/Div 5-10%
New guilds can break into this if they prove themselves somehow. The percentages are up for debate of course, not the point.
We do a lottery system for first picks or come up with some way to pick dragons BEFORE they spawn. For example the pick order could go Aftermath -> Awakened -> BDA -> Aftermath -> Awakened -> CSG -> Anon/Div -> Aftermath etc... The next week Aftermath/Awakened and CSG/AnonDiv would switch order.
Some guilds prefer the rush of the race - fine by me. Let's say those two guilds are Awakened and Aftermath for the purposes of this discussion. Awakend and Aftermath can choose to race each other for their dragons. Maybe Awakened gets more, maybe Aftermath gets more, that is their choice. They can essentially pool their dragons together and duke it out.
This way each guild can still play how they want. The adrenaline junkie guilds can poopsock and race each other to their hearts content. The casual guilds who prefer the playstyle of clearing to a dragon and killing it can still play their way.
Majority of pixels still go to those that are putting in the most time and resources. Aftermath and Awakened can go back to Mage CoH pulling or do whatever they want. I expect the other guilds will clear to the mob and take their time, which is their preference.
Thoughts?

Do new guilds have to be able to solo kill Gorenaire at 4 AM?

BDA is more than capable. CSG has killed a NTOV dragon. Divinity has killed LTK, Jorleag, Telk and Gozz before the trainfest began.
Please try to keep the comments constructive, thank you for your response though.

It shouldn't affect your opinion of the proposed system. If you don't like it that is fine, just put the reason down and let's have a constructive discussion. I will respect your opinion and try to keep the discussion on point.

#1 Literally time and time again it has been stated there will be no rotations. GM's don't like that.
#2 You use the phrase of someway and somehow, you don't even know how to make these rules work.
#3 the %'s are arbitrary. I can assume you're in BDA given the inherently biased looking %'s.
#4 what if a guild can't kill a target when it comes up? how long till engage?

To be honest since bda is the #2 guild now, they should actually get a little higher % imo, all bias aside

Forum Quest FTE Proposal
I propose that we have forum role play contests each week to determine what dragons each guild will get. Every guild can enter 1 writer, 1 additional poster, 1 RnF specialist, and the winner will be voted on via polling. GMs will have super votes that count as 30 regular votes.
1)In the event of a tie, an open mic music competition will take place over skype until a winner can be determined.
2)In the event of a double tie, both competitors will prepare a comical GiF - the winner gaining rights to 1 dragon their choosing.
3)In the event of a triple tie, the RnF specialists come into play. Whoever can cuck the other the hardest via Meme’s, slander, GiFs, Asperger references, BDA propaganda, and general trolling will win the event and the dragon.

Spryler these conversations would probably gain more ground if spoken to the guild leadership honestly. Opening this up to public debate is most likely just going to push this thread over into RnF.
I have listened to about half of the guild summit so far while driving and it seems as though most of them could work together. After they come to a solution they could then garner support from each guild from the leadership down.

You are referring to a class system. It's been discussed and not wholey discarded.

On one hand, I don't understand why we can't all share. On the other hand, everybody getting dragon kills is NOT CLASSIC...But getting BiS loot on a character literally means nothing here. P99 is about alts, quests, leveling, and doing things you never did on live. very much a "enjoy the journey" scenario.
I wish all of you the best - I will be spending the bulk of my time in non-raid zones. I think the only mobs that should be "competed" for are mobs that drop epic pieces that a guild member needs, ST key mobs, and Vulak. Everything else should be rotated and the insanity of 25 man tracking teams put to death

While I do not play on Red, I do play Eve Online. I propose that these boss mob zones become a player versus player zone. So if you want something, prepare to fight for it; and once you have it, prepare to defend it. Thus instead of these little foot races and whatnot I read about, bring enough people to defeat the mob in question _and_ enough to keep yourself alive.

Federation of Allied Players (FAP) 2.0 open to the public. I would be willing to provide some consulting experience for all parties for a platinum fee. I spent two weeks on version 1.0 forums before Class R rotation shut down. I also bring a diversified portfolio of NGO consulting and corporate audit experience.

Whenever a dragon spawns, all raiding level 60's are auto-encumbered, all casters are silenced, and all are ported to odus. Ready, set, race.

Hardcore raiders are more in it for the competition of racing spawns than they are for the pixels. What you propose is to eliminate their style of play by giving hand outs.
Not that I have time to be such a raider. The island of Sodor is a busy place and waiting with bind sight for 16 hours is not really useful.
Also, you know, BDA. ect..

I know I spent way too much time thinking about the intricacies of this server.
Your statement is ignorant of the time/effort leadership of the raiding guilds put into this game.

Great system! It's about time that people who aren't in guild leadership positions step up and share their wonderful ideas. Since those leaders don't spend any time thinking about how this all works, its very likely that you'll come up with some brilliant solution that they never thought of.
I don't know this man, but this is clearly sarcasm. Thanks for recognizing how much work we put into all of it.
