Hi. The names Junedi and i have been playing MMORPGs since EQOA was released on PS2. Before then, i never had internet so the possibility of this new MMO experience was very enticing to me. At first, it was frustrating. I had no idea what to do. I didn't own a PC so i couldnt look anything up. I relied on the community. It was a humbling feeling announcing to the EQOA world "Hey, I have no idea what Im doing. Can anyone help?" Not knowing what to expect. If my words would just be ignored. But, they were not. The EQOA community was strong. I enjoyed learning. And in turn, helping others. I enjoyed the grind sessions, just getting to know the other players. I remember reaching max level and doing my epic quest. Getting my awesome sword. All the help from my guild mates and "strangers" alike. Unfortunately, shortly after frontiers was released, i joined the military and "lost my way". I didnt have the time to play anymore.
After i was released in 2010. I started playing WOW. It was impressive to me. Flashy and easy to get into. That was the hook. After awhile, i realized it was lacking something. The community, to me, seemed self centered and focused. I felt like i was in a constant race. Gear gear gear. It became very bland and wasnt very enjoyable. I played WoW off and on from time to time. Started branching out to other RPGs but they seemed to all go mainstream. Not as focused on community. I attempted to go back to EQOA but didnt realize it had been sunsetted.

Unfortunately, for me, it was too late. Couldn't say goodbye to old friends i had made. I doubt if Ive even been remembered. One thing I didnt lose is how a true community in an MMO impacts your life on a personal level.

Long story short:

I found out about project1999. And how some old EQOAers were giving it a shot. Took interest and it seems like the MMO ive been missing.

Currently only level 1 but that will change. Time is at a premium.

Im also an ex-EQOA player and just recently came to project1999. Definitely the closest thing to EQOA I've found. Hell the music, spells, races, classes are all pretty much the same. The map is almost the same too. EQOA was just a bit quicker paced and more forgiving in the earlier levels. If you wanna group up I'm Landaren, lvl 12 Enchanter. Are you on the EQOA Revival facebook page?

Assuming you can look past the forum trolls and the occasional bad apple in game, the p99 blue community is very much what you're looking for in an MMO.
Welcome! :)

Yep, on the revival page. It's amazing the work everyones been able to do with, for lack of a better term, a dead game. Can't wait for online free-roam. It'll be awesome running around Norrath with friends.

Let's group up sometime. I've convinced my brother to give this a shot (he's an old EQOA'r such as ourselves [Dareus 60 SK on DH] so i may be rerolling tomorrow. We are partial to dark elves cause Neriak is awesome lol One of us will be a tank. The other dps. We'll catch up.

Make sure to check out the guilds section! I've only been able to find two guilds which accept low level players: Kittens Who Say Meow (somewhat whimsical name, but good people so far and the one I ultimately went with) and Venerate (They seem to have a more mature humor level and are a bit more put together when it comes to websites and things). Both seem like great options, though I'd love to be able to join up with someone for regular play, haha.

I'm currently a level 4 Druid out of Qeynos. (Getting ready to attempt the trip over to Feydark and the Dwarves, I think)
