Lower case player names

I've seen quite a few people with lower case first names, and I know it's achieved by shift+left during the naming part of character creation.

But this isn't classic, this never would've been allowed on live, and it's very jarring to see and always reminds me that I'm playing on an emulator and not really EverQuest.

Why is this allowed?

End of the day, what's considered "classic" here is kind of up to the whimsy of the developers.

Basically, the GMs are too busy with other stuff to deal with relatively trivial concerns like this one; I think if you try /petition -ing these names you'll just be told not to bother. If you're really passionate about this issue maybe you can apply to be a GM and then run around changing the names of anyone who has a lower case name or violates the name policy.

I'm pretty sure it's technically not allowed, but it's so minor that no one really cares.

Honestly it's kinda sad that people even do it....the only reason I can think for ANYONE to do it is simply to be a dick.

The following types of names are considered unacceptable:
* Forenames containing titles within them, such as, but not limited to: The, Lord, Lady, Master, King, Knight, Sir, Father (e.g. Sirtallon, Lordeagle, Mothermaggy, Darksister).

Wouldnt it be sad if someone you where a total dick too reported your name for being a clear violation President ? I know i would shed a tear.

Would be a bummer. My guess is the GM's let me keep it under grandfather rules. No one cared about naming policy until the server really spiked in popularity 4-6 mo down the line. Would be sad to get a name change after that long a period with it.
