Rolled up a Dwarven Cleric today and got to tooling around with him. I forgot how brutal this game can be at times (red con outside Kaladim) and haven't played since sometime around Legacy of Ykesha's launch in 2003. Any tips or hints? I've already run into a few friendly players, one of which dropped some mesh gear on me to get me started and I'm infinitely thankful!

Welcome back to classic EQ! Dwarf cleric is almost as cool as halfling cleric.

Here's a tip: Don't take any wooden nickels.

I have no idea what it means, but it was told to me long ago and, so far, it's been sage advice. :p

Focus on killing nothing but decaying skeletons until they stop giving experience. Save the bone chips and turn them into the Paladin guild at that point for massive exp gains. Then make the journey to Crushbone for grouping. Collect belts and shoulderpads for exp turn ins as well. Both these quests also give armor.

Did the bone chip quest for about a day and went from lvl 3 to 8 by the next day, gives tons of exp. I then went to EC and got a bind at FP, joined a orc group and went to lvl 11 in another day and a half. EC is great cause of all the higher levels willing to throw some epic buffs on you. Those help alot.
