Missing EQ, thinking of returning

Took a long, long (and necessary) hiatus. Might be looking for adventures with pals again sometime in the near future. I've skimmed over some of the posts and it seems so much has changed. Still, many familiar names out there. Looks like I've missed out on a lot.

I miss the raiding, backing up friends heading to the bottom of dungeons, rezzing complete strangers caught in a bind (including my "enemies" - quotations because I don't believe I really had any), power leveling and buffing folks as I pass, duo'ing the seemingly impossible.

Honestly, what's the box look like these days? I wonder if the posts are mostly FQ'ing or if I still have some friends online? Hoping the latter is true.

The leadership of Empire was so toxic right now the pop is less but getting rid of a lot of those players will make red99 better in the long run. The server is so much better right now. That being said, the toxicness wasn't all Empire leadership in other guilds like Azrael, Nihlium, Hokuten, Friends and a bundle of players that hurt this server. Guilds like Force, Red Dawn, Vae Victus,(Samwise guild) Prophets of Slosh, Casual Scum, and Tempest are the type of leadership and guilds that are\were good for this server.

Guilds like Force, Red Dawn, Vae Victus,(Samwise guild) Prophets of Slosh, Casual Scum, and Tempest are the type of leadership and guilds that are\were good for this server.

By a corrupted GM banned stripping people's accounts he banned and sold the items. But my first banning was justified.

@ Salem: you in fact murdered me many times :) I always lived by the man code and took my beatings if need be. If I couldn't get my corpse either by force or stealth I'd log an alt and say GG. I have no player database, but keenly remember being hunted a few times while duo'ing HS with Loudog. I took my beatings and moved on.

@ sickpuppy: Yes it's me, though I was in RD at the time (never TMO) and checkraise was the only other cleric present to loot the gloves. He wouldn't even roll against me, just said take them. I'll never forget it. I'll also never forget how much I despised Mrbiggs. But then I had an opportunity to group with you in the Hole to help some other guy get an item for his epic. You and I were the more experienced players of the group. I was hesitant and apprehensive to group with you at first but quickly found that you were highly experienced and actually very friendly.

Sektor, et al: you were never the type that paid much attention to players like me, not that I needed that attention. You got caught, took your licks, moved on. I wish others would too.. I have no grievances and you're a decent guy.

Colgate: always extremely fair and good to me, had an amazing playing with your day your guild. Had things been different after nihilum split I think you'd have really appreciated my council.

This thread has gotten slightly off topic but I'll say I really am happy to see some familiar folks posting here. I doubt I have it in me to restart on a progressive server but I'm enticed at the idea of coming back to red soon

If anyone considers the leadership of Ragnaros and Tune good for the server you're an idiot, or blind. Also lol @ all the failed guilds mentioned (force, rd, cs) alongside tempest. Funny that every single officer in tempest was a member of one of the "toxic" guilds you listed. Ponder that for a second, they're so less toxic now because they have a different tag...

It's because there's noone else that plays dead99 now, (66 of 80 players online a couple nights ago were tempest and a few allied slosh, raiding) hence why population dips into single digits now including YT tracking toons logged in and anyone that might be at char screen Server is done, wipe it clean.


TL; DR toxic members of tempest aren't toxic atm cuz pixels and noone to pvp against since empire was the main pvp'ers on the server, a fact that is now proven

Bah. My last post was butchered by a bad connection on my iPhone. Also wanted to include Agatha and thanking him for all the help and fun times leveling alts, and tradesonred "Torporrrr" hahaha I'll never forget the fun in Seb. Seriously miss EQ and all you guys.
