As a former Europa member I can also say the enchanter was never guilded there but good job trying to put 2+2 together.

If you grouped with me it would likely have been on my rogue, necro or SK. Tekilya grouped with my SK and said I was the best he'd grouped with before he found out who I was :)

You're doing better than me! I'm 6998/5782 buffed. But my boots are god awful. Need to hit up a FFA Tormax and get a head (I think they're still BiS in Luclin. Maybe Emp Boots?) and my earring is that shitty one from GE. We 3 split VT for the first time last night and that awesome clicky root ring dropped and went for min dkp in another split. Aten mask went for super low too but not my split. Really coulda both those. Taking 3 weeks off of raiding to fly back to NY and visit family definitely hurt my pixel gains.

Oh well. 6 months of PoTime means we'll all be full BiS with any reasonable amount of effort going into GoD/OoW.

Cause there were a few options:

A. Join a guild that is DKP but will be raiding at 7AM on Wednesday every time an expansion launches. I have a job and can't make those raids so I wouldn't really be able to partake in the progression part of these servers. Came here to progress, not farm.
B. Join a loot council guild that knows what it's doing/is somewhat hardcore.
C. Join a DKP guild that is casual.

So I elected option B.

Seemed like a logical pick to me. I'm sure some of my guildmate nerds are taking off weeks of vacation to level up, but atleast they're not going to be posting 9:30 AM kills on a workday to claim server firsts.

That's really what killed me on EQLive. The progression races shifted from just besting/figuring out content fast to "who can log on at 5AM Tuesday when our lockout is up to beat this raid and acquire more keys". Cause there were a few options:

A. Join a guild that is DKP but will be raiding at 7AM on Wednesday every time an expansion launches. I have a job and can't make those raids so I wouldn't really be able to partake in the progression part of these servers. Came here to progress, not farm.
B. Join a loot council guild that knows what it's doing/is somewhat hardcore.
C. Join a DKP guild that is casual.

So I elected option B.

Seemed like a logical pick to me. I'm sure some of my guildmate nerds are taking off weeks of vacation to level up, but atleast they're not going to be posting 9:30 AM kills on a workday to claim server firsts.

That's really what killed me on EQLive. The progression races shifted from just besting/figuring out content fast to "who can log on at 5AM Tuesday when our lockout is up to beat this raid and acquire more keys". Way more raids and they batphone tons of shit that OGC doesn't even bother killing. OGC seemed like the best option to fit my criteria and I had already made a few friends here. So if I have to suffer through 1 week of insanity and raids morning noon and night then so be it. Its worth the trade-off.

EoE has a ton of boxes in it. And the LC has been very fair so far. Mains obviously get priority over boxes.

It wasn't made clear to me. Also even if it was it's still total and complete bullshit. Clerics don't fucking need priority on FT items. I joined OGC on my cleric within like 2 days of hitting level 60. Every item I was wearing was prolly worth 10-15k combined on the bazaar. I jumped right into raiding Ssra and VT and did just fine. I ended many fights with 50%+ mana left over with garbage gear. One of the main raid leaders said openly in mumble "How is this shit geared app keeping pace with our best geared clerics?" or something along those lines during my first week. If you don't suck and play correctly clerics can heal current content with little to nothing gearwise. If you have a mindwrack necro you can prolly do it naked.

Chest and co gave the first robe to Doab cause he likes Doab and gives him first dibs on a lot of shit. First KT head on P99. One of the first (If not first?) KT head on Phinny. 3-4 pieces of BiS at the time of receiving Vulak Robe when most raiders had 1 or less. I don't have any problems with Doab in particular and he deserves to get good loot. But so did many other people that hadn't received nearly as much. Pretending like the BDA loot council is anything CLOSE to fair is the most asinine thing I've ever heard in my life.

There's a certain amount of randomness to parses but it's not 100% random. It's relatively easy to see who's a good player and who isn't over time. You obviously can't base it on 1 or 2 parses. Over the course of 3-4 months I was the only necro to be in the top 5 and I was regularly top 1-2 on fights that don't resist half my dots. Most other necros were between 10-15th place. That's not randomness.

In my ~18 years of MMO games a variation of DKP is the only loot system that even comes anywhere close to being fair and rewarding people proportionate to their time/effort invested.

I got nothing better to do. Not working til later tonight and I'm mashing /assist /autofire on my ranger on the other computer getting some pre-PoP AA. Everyone would be bidding on all raid drops instead of just the total raid drops a smaller guild would get when "competing" with another guild. Those ultra rare drops would be bid on by the same people all of the time. Wouldn't this be an advantage for everyone? Maybe Ex-TMO can weigh in since this was the status quo for nearly half a decade.

Why? The top % is still getting all the loot. It'll spread out to some more people with everyone under one roof, but the guild as a whole is still getting all the loot, so that's more loot for the top % of "earners".
