Definitely highly unlikely that they would. But I'm fairly certain if they really wanted to they could. Without knowing the exact details of the written agreement its hard to say for sure. But we all know the history of this server with RMT from staff members in the past. Is it impossible that they could find P99 in breach of their agreement if they decided to shut it down? I'm not so sure

Only need 1 shaman to handle malo/slow and if thats handled all that's really left is FoS/Sta buffing and patch healing. Every guild on the server has more shamans than they need so you end up being bored a lot. I was in the process of leveling a rog and cleric alt near the end of my time on P99. Had a 54 rog and 53 clr that I was going to play when needed cause an extra shaman when you already have 4-5 in raid is nearly useless.

Posting on P99 forums has nothing to do with whether or not I enjoy P99 my friend. I really really don't get this logic and so many different people try to use it against me saying that cause I post here I must secretly love P99 and wish I was playing that instead. You don't really believe that shit do you? My p99 accounts are still sitting there ready for me to play them whenever I want to. Dontcha think if I really wanted to play P99 I would? I've been logged into P99 less than 10 minutes total since the day I started on Phinny. Most of that time was to gather screenshots to post on RNF.

I know I talk a lot of shit around here and most of my posts are trolling but this isn't one of them. Phinny is more fun to me than P99 has ever been. Raiding is hands down the most fun aspect of the game to me and I don't think a single sane person (Even most of A/A) can deny how shitty raiding is on P99. Whatever faults Phinny may have I can easily look past them because the most important thing to me (raiding) is sooooooooooo much better than the alternative. I can say with 100% honesty and a straight face that I have not had the urge to log in or play P99 again even a single time since I left. I still enjoy logging on here and talking shit though. The forums and the game are 2 completely separate things to me. I know that's hard to believe for some reason :P

Top favorite being OoW. Truth be told I really didn't even like "Classic" EQ that much if we're defining Classic as Base EQ through Velious. Luclin PoP GoD OoW were all more fun in my book. I didn't start to lose interest in EQ even a little bit until DoDH and even then the biggest reason I retired was cause all my friends quit for WoW. Prolly would've kept playing if they didn't. What would've really ruined live EQ for me is mercenaries and its the main reason I couldn't stand going back to play live any of the times I've tried to. Mercenaries just undermine the whole point of the game imo.

I guess whatever handmedowns trickle out. Passed down a CoF and CoCW to people yesterday after people upgraded.

This isn't a recruitment thread by any means, we're running 50+ deep on our scheduled big raids, but if people want to kill monsters casually with some normal socially adjusted folks then phinny is a good place to do it even if you don't come our way. I've become a big fan of not doing naked CRs.

You're 100% right in a way. I don't try to make that argument much around here cause brainless classic purists are the worst and trying to talk sense into them is pointless. But in a lot of ways Phinny is more "hardcore" than P99 is. Certainly not across the board cause we do get easymode CR's and map/compass and yada yada. However like you said Velious isn't the permanent state of Phinny (unlike P99) so you need to actually progress to keep up. I could come back to P99 in 5 years and be no further behind than I am right now. Doesn't sound very hardcore to me. The only REAL hardcore thing about P99 is also the worst part about P99 and that is: Poopsocking.

Not to mention due to mitigation/presence of the mighty in many cases the dragons/boss fights themselves are a lot harder on Phinny than they are on P99. Whereas raiding on P99 I'd say 99% of the "difficulty" is who can stomach staring at a wall longer and who can FTE first. Still boggles my mind a bit how people can feel so high and mighty about being better at staring at walls for 16 hours than everyone else. The ONLY people who really have any leg to stand on with their claim to be better than their competition is the people who actually get FTE.
