My girlfriend and I are going to start playing either tonight or this weekend. I think we settled on a Cleric Warrior combo. I heard the server needed clerics and an extra tank could never hurt.

Anyway I just wanted to ask if anyone could spare anything to help get us started out. Bronze .. a decent weapon... whatever it may be. Thanks in advance.

Same here. Loved saving up the coppers for a full set of cloth (or leather or whatever), and wielding a cracked staff or rusty sword until I earned the right for the uber stuff (like fine steel, lol).

L1-15 untwinked and ungifted...one of the very best parts of EQ imho.

That said, I can give you stuff too if that's what you want to do - just send me a tell.

I didn't get rid of most of my patchwork armor pieces until late into my 20s. I had a blast, just recently at 34 got rid of my leather boots... HAHAHHA...

Anytime I saw a critter running around with a cracked staff I let out a small shout of joy as I chased it down and slashed it to bits to get at that 1pp piece of wood!

I did it the hard way. I wanted banded for my Pally so I saved up bonechips and spiderling silk to get enough platinum to start smithing and make my own. It was very satisfying.

as a stamina paladin who also picked the best race statwise (high elf) I was so weighed down when i finally got full bronze that i could barely run anywhere. good times

personally, the best part of Any MMO for me is the beginning. I enjoy the struggle of accumulating stuff, not having money, making your own first piece of gear. etc... once you have some money and and resources and things become easier, not as fun anymore.
