I havnt had the time to play P99 anymore :/ much less screw around on the Forums. but my Brother has, I have been talking to him about hooking him up with my gear.

If I just randomly Trade him all my stuff would I get banned for RMT? there is no RMT here.

Just quitting the game. Don't want his account to get banned lol

If you have a history of playing together and can prove it, it is unlikely you will get pinched.

Even if you get hit in a blanket wave by mistake, it would be easy to prove your relationship and reasoning behind giving him the items while you are not playing.
For some reason, I get the impression that your level 25 nercro and sub-12 alts don't have many thousands of plat worth of gear to be RMTing anyways.

No one will think that you are RMTing your bone chips. :)

Here are some tips for avoiding RMT bans:

1. Don't RMT
2. Prepare justification for all trades to prevent any possible future allegations.

Same, I stripped three characters when my playtime took a dive and distributed the items to my pals. Never got questioned about it.

might be waiting to do huge wave?

There have been a few waves since then.

Edit:
Now that I'm thinking about it, I can't relate my situation to OP at all.
Any GM that looked into my transactions would see that I still log in 5+ times a week, and often log onto the characters that have the items.

A GM that looked into OP's transactions would see that he traded all his gear and then stopped playing. Maybe your history of playing together will still help.

Through the countless "big waves" they have done, I have traded so many "big" ticket items to people for people to use/borrow/etc, and never once got even questioned for it. Is there a chance? Perhaps, but I wouldn't worry about it, if you did nothing wrong, and are mistakenly accused of it, I'm sure it would be repaired.

This is exactly how I feel about it.

How much does it cost to be your brother and what kind of items could one expect to receive in that role?

When trading large amounts of platinum or items for nothing in return, it's a good idea to send some tells explaining the transaction. People do this all the time with transfers and payments for MQs.

The idea is that a GM seeing the transaction as suspicious would hopefully review the tells/communications between the two players, and then could corroborate what was said with other logs e.g. encounter logs for MQs.

I know when I'm busy working, I will ask my friend if he wants to borrow my fungi for the week/weekend. I have another friend that I usually give all my loot to and occasionally he'll give me random amounts of platinum. Like Doctor said, though, logs would easily show us grouping almost daily and we log into each others accounts for various reasons.

That being said, nobody would suspect an RMT for your gossimer robe and dragoon dirk. :p

I have heard some horror stories about mistakes in an RMT ban with people just giving gear, but I will be stripping all my toons so I just want to be cautious lol

I have never had any issues at all. I transfer gear all the time between my accounts. Although my mules name is Transfersaurus so that may help lol.

Is that even possible? lol..

I didn't think GM's could access (atleast easily) those types of communications. If they could, why would they always require people sending them logs of incidents?

GMs can check chat logs. Its much easier for volunteers to be given the information they need though instead of going through all the logs themselves plus they probably use their logs to check your logs to make sure they werent tampered with.

First rule of anything on p99.... Whatever you do, dont let your "brother" play.

Its always the brothers getting up to no good :p

what if you had an account back in 2010 (or whenever P99 started), subsequently stopped playing and picked back up in 2016. But, you couldn't remember your password at first and made a new account.
...then you remember your old password, transfer some of your gear to your new account and stop using the old one. Would they ban you for something like this?

You could per se but you would have proof that both accounts belonged to you so you would get unbanned. If you are innocent you have nothing to worry about aslong as you keep your logs on. Only people that are permabanned are people who deserve it. I had it happen to me that a account i had bought (when it was legal) had belonged to a RMTer. I contacted the GMs through a petition asking why account was banned. They gave me the details and i then went through my logs and found my conversation about buying the account and the xfer of plat itself in my logs and gave that to the gm's and they released my account. This whole process took less then a day. If you act like a rational human being and have your shit in order you have nothing to fear. On that note i have also done 1000's of xfers for people over the years and have never gotten banned and a few of those xfers were for people who later ended up being RMTers(like Culprit). GMs dont just willy nilly ban people.

Generally only high end traders get mistakenly banned for RMT. They straighten it out if you are innocent.
