I want to play RED but...

I've been wanting more and more to play on RED99, but I can never commit myself because I keep hearing all these rumors that they are going to take down the Red server one day because its population is so low most of the time. Can anyone prove this isn't the case without a doubt? I wouldn't want to start here and then have them recycle the server into something new for the majority.

there's no extra expenses having red99 running so as long as blue99 is of interest to keep running i don't see why red99 would shut down, you already have no gms on red99 so it's not taking a toll on anyones time at this point

Really not even trolling stick to blue. There is zero point zero that happens on red as far as pvp.The people leading the top guild are server rejects with banned characters for hacking, rmt and various other stuff.

I don't want to put the project down. I think the staff did a wonderful job and gave us Classic pvp eq. But just wipe this shit already and actually bring life back to the server.

Red is fun. Definitely worth giving it a shot..

I have multiple 60s on both Red & Blue. If Red had the pop of blue it would be a far superior server.

The pop probably wont effect you too badly over there if your North American.
If you're a euro like myself though, red is a tough life.

Give it a shot I say. Forget the bluebies who have never tried red but seem to know so much about it and put the server down. I think you'll be pleasently surprised

This is an emulator and there is no guarantee. The only person who can make that decision hates the red server but at the same time, as Smedy mentioned, it doesn't hurt him to keep it open. It doesn't mean that one day it won't just go poof.

many of us here have been playing red99 for years, and many of us plan to play for many more

people have been crying for a wipe since the first month, 1st year, 3rd year, and now

many on the forum are bitter about there experiences here and do nothing but discourage others to not play here

i dont think rogean hates red. he just doesnt take part in it, which is probably a better thing than the alternative. ppl have been shouting for a wipe since like month 6, but that button hasnt been pressed after what, like 4-5 years now?

tbh id be more worried that blue would be obsoleted (not wiped) by the release of a new time-true progression server. i think thats the long term goal after all. and red? na itll be here unchanged for probably another 5 years. sad or cool, up to u

I think they look down their nose at red. Similar to the English and the Irish. I picked this up from listening to Rogean and staff talk on podcasts over the years.

Verant knew back in the day that it's easier to manage servers if you put the worst assholes all in one place and let them shit on each other.

After reading all the comments I have decided to give it a try. I got up to level 9 so far as a bard named DJtiesto if anyone ever wants to group, or just sit there and collect exp while I swarm kite (need that group bonus xp!)

I'm making the switch from blue to red, wish me luck!

My first mistake on this server: Making my bard start in Kelethin instead of Qeynos... Didn't cross my mind that finding a port would actually be difficult! Let's hope I can find a bind once I get over that direction!

You don't actually get more XP with people in your group unless you are able to kill more mobs with their help. Bonuses are applied before split.

yeah if you are swarming dont invite anyone to your grp that will not speed up the process
