Hello there tanky brothers. I just hit 58 on my pally & for the most part I've had a ball on him. I've acquired Jboots/Peg cloak/MR gear/Epic/1h knight sword from hate. My gear is pretty much Thurgadin quest(I need corroded greaves to complete). I'm not too much into raiding cause of my schedule. Aside from getting the 8th coldain ring and maybe a Eyepatch of plunder, what are some goals I should shoot for? Only other character is a 36 necro. Thanks in advance.:D

If you can manage bracers of benevolence those are extremely good bracers and quest is easy outside of winning the turn in

The turn in with scout charissa? They roll on that now? From my research it was a a cluster click fuck fest. Please enlighten me. Aegis of Life, nice item but can't see the use of it besides resist. Is there something I'm missing? Thank you Erati and Koopa for your responses.

Yeah, scout charisa. I assume it's still a click fest but I haven't attended one in months

If you're not interested in raiding very much then you're approaching the plateau for a non-raider in this era of the game. As you surmise, there are a few odds and ends here and there you can pick up, maybe save up plat to buy rots off the high-end guilds if that's your idea of fun. The most important thing is to try going around and group different areas so as to get some good use out of that stuff you acquired.

Make pals (pun unintended) by looking for people that need help on quests, etc.

you can obtain the 9th ring without a raid force, just need a few friends (a wizard really helps) and one round of plate house.
Exp in seb until you camp your own hiero cloak and fungi? Definitely ring 9 and a falinkan circlet. Join one of the smaller casual guilds that do posky on a schedule to score a 41% haste belt and maybe attend some of Eabon's pick up tov raids for some mold upgrades and maybe a flurry drake shield of the protector when he starts taking a crack at those.

paladin / shaman duo in crypt is some of the most fun paladin'ing i have had, highly recommend.
its very slow kills but you have much utility and tank wayyy better than a rogue/shaman duo

that belt is terrible for you Trunge - no hps/crap ac - dont waste the quest items
since you are in AM you should be going after the Lady Nev SK 41% belt if thats where you want haste

I know how you feel. I hit 58 on my Epic Pally pre-velious and haven't really done much with her since then.
Have you done the Divine Might spell quest (http://wiki.project1999.com/The_Bones_of_Darak_Lightforge)? It's pretty fun and the only semi-challenging part is the one from Kedge in Phinny's room. But any pet class can pull off the seahorses for you to swim down there.
I love my Pally but I've moved on and I'm leveling alts. I now have 5 50+ toons all with their epics which is kinda cool.
If you do move onto alts I'd recommend hitting 59 first for that 90% rez. Having a rezbot is handy when leveling alts even if it is only a 90%.

Question: how does having a rezbot benefit your alts?

Thx Username17, I'm also in Hampton Roads area btw. I have a good list of objectives now and feel a little more enthusiastic about grinding out the next two levels. I've done Divine Might (fun quest really). Thank you all for the suggestions.

Small world. We're in the same guild at the moment. Mostly I'm on my Shadow Knight, Andoric. If you've (nearly) completed your character, stick to doing the content you find fun. There's more to the game than gear. I understand the folks who bust their butts to build a character just to shelve it once it's built--some guys enjoy the building phase of a project more so than using the result--but I think it's a pity all the same. I've been 60 on my Shadow knight for years, peppered with extremely long stretches of seeing no equipment upgrades, sometimes upwards of a year and a half. Even so I still find things to keep it fun enough that I'm not inclined to start anything else.
Best thing you can do as a Paladin is make friends with an Enchanter or three. The two classes can do some pretty nutty things together--rest of a group being optional.

You'd make your alts on a separate account. That way, you can ask your friend to log one in to get a rez.

Even if I made my alts on separate accounts, there's no way I'd ever give out my account info to do the above, nor recommend it on P1999. I've seen too many folks log in to emptied banks wondering where everything went. I know some folks elect to take that chance, but I wouldn't.

A lot of people on p99 have people they can trust. Maybe not random guildmate, no... but family members, spouses, RL friends or even people that played on live together.
I have a really tight-knit group of friends that met on p99. We share account info, gear, and even made community accounts for rez/ports/etc.
I even have account info of a friend I've known for maybe 2 months? I've been helping him get exp and gear and he knows I have no reason to take any of his stuff.
Another example, I lost power in Hate and went LD. I texted my friend to log me in and get me out safely. Having quality friends is great.

My rezbot is on my alt account but I have never used it to rez myself. Don't share your passwords people.
Having a rezbot isn't about rezzing yourself. It's about quick death/wipe recovery of others you're grouped with so you can continue on with the Exp. If I die on an alt I leave a corpse till someone else shows up with a rezbot. I've traded rezzes before with someone else who has a rezbot in the zone.
People are more apt to group with you if they know you have a rezbot in zone too. If you're new the zone you can /ooc PST Rezzes/Cleric buffs. Also, 40 sk lfg.
That usually gets me a group fast. I'm not above buff bribing my way into groups if needed. I'll sometimes switch back over to the cleric when I'm leaving to re-buff.

Yes, it is pretty handy to be able to rez back in group mates (especially if that group mate is the cleric!)

the whole point is that you have a throwaway account without any overly valuable droppable gear on it that you care about to rez on. an account with only your cleric or paladin on it and nothing else. keep it parked where you're leveling or raiding or whatever, and have a friend log on when you need a few clicks. if you're really paranoid, change the password to something temporary and switch it back once they're logged on. probably a third of the red server has logged on one of my rez bots or one time or another and i've never had anyone mess with them because there's nothing worth taking on them.
keep in mind it only takes a couple days to get a cleric/pally to 60 on red so it's a lot less time invested to have a rez bot on there. i don't play blue, so idk it might not be as worth it on there. the amount of time my rez bots and port bots have saved me is enormous compared to the amount of time it took to level them.
also if you're grouping, you can use the cleric to drag your group's corpses and rez the group cleric back up if you're really against sharing.

I agree Xaanka, the cost/benefit ratio to doing that on Red is doubtless much different than it is on Blue. Not only do people level more rapidly on Red, but I can only imagine they die more frequently as well. My Shadow Knight hasn't died outside a raid situation since, uh, sometime last year I think.
I also agree that a throwaway account changes the rules as well. I have a throwaway Rogue door-opener that I've given a few folks the info for because I don't care if it gets stripped, stolen, or outright deleted. My comment above was with serious-use characters and alts in mind, not purpose-made utility throwaways. Don't give out the info for characters you care about!

Too late for me, I guess. I only give my info to people I trust. They have no reason to do anything to my characters, though. Just like I would have nothing to gain from doing anything to theirs... To each their own, I guess.
