Like that one server that was popular for like a month until all the Innoruuk worshipers dominated the server leaving only elves, troll shaman and a few select humans and such?

Sounds neat and all but it sounds like Red99 now where everyone joins the same guild if they want to raid but you are forced to be an elf in an elf simulator.

Edit: Yup, logged in to check. Lots of dark elves, evil/neutral human classes, half elf warriors, all troll classes. history will be bound to repeat itself once all the good deity people go back to blue after the novelty fades. also seems strange to split red99s low pop up even more, almost cruel

Most would accept a wipe of red if teams were definitely on the table - the original idea was for only 1 pvp server in the end so red would roll into teams or vice versa.

Doesn't matter if discord has a smaller portion of players as it is without expansions. 3 expansions worth of content has way to much item bloat and spreads the players really thin.

I think with the red population there currently is any red server would be better expansionless.

Or no expansions. There really isn't the pvp pool here to draw from like live had with 1000's and 1000's of curious players in the day. Trying to be unbiased saying that. I'll likely play discord, it's closer to faction wars which is more my cup of tea.

IIRC Tallon and Vallon were both more popular than rallos even though it was the sole FFA server (ofcourse, there were other factors ie item loot/4 level range/ etc).

Personally would love to play on a teams server and could probably convince others to give it a try under the right circumstances.

Discord servers are always novelties and typically die with a swiftness

But that's the glory of Discord, it is classically a temporary server so once the novelty wears off and there are only 50 neckbeards playing it we can wipe it clean (and reboot it as no-expansion teams)!

Teams be good. Need to make sure it has the right breakdown though. I'd like to see something like:

Elves: Dark/High/Wood/Half(opt)
Shorts: Dwarf/Gnome/Halflings
Men: Humes/Barbs/Erus
Uglies: Ogres/Trolls/Lizards

Would have to unlock some additional classes for certain races to make it work, like:

Monk for Delf/Gnome
Sham for Welf/Dwarf
Wiz/Enc/Mage for lizards
Bard for halfling/Ogre
SK for Gnome

As a bard on live who misses the ogre mask, I would welcome this and might actually play on the server. But only if the newer instrument graphics were enabled.

C'mon you know they'll never do anything un-classic. Best teams setup:

West: Qeynos Humans/Half Elves, Barbarians, Erudites, Ogres
East: Freeport Humans/Half Elves, Dark Elves, Trolls, Halflings
Island: High Elves, Wood Elves, Kelethin Half Elves, Gnomes, Iksar, Dwarves

This gives each team access to every class and will mix up the min-maxers (ie. West has Ogres but worst territory, Island has best Monks/Necros and easy Kunark access but no fatties, East has best Classic territory + solid races).

Would be fairly blue to start as there wouldn't be many lowbie clashes but that would allow teams to gel and level up to where PvP actually starts to matter and attract people from blue. Creates opportunities for en masse PvP events as players and guilds get past the newbie stages.

If I had to pick what team would get the most population I'd guess East due to a nice proximity to Guk and SolB and some popular races (Halflings, Dark Elves) but I think this setup would get as close to 33/33/33 as possible because each team has their advantages:

West: Min-max wet dreams in Ogres (anything they can be), Erudites (casters), and Barbarian (Rogue)
East: As I mentioned before, popular races in Halflings and Dark Elves, solid tank/Shaman race in Trolls and a great grip on leveling grounds from 1-50.
Island: Start with sole possession of Faydwer and Kunark, best Monk/Necros in Iksar, solid tank race in Dwarves and good caster races in HE and Gnome.
