Steamfont, Not GFay

He's just inside the zone-in from Steamfont, not GFay, at a small collection of huts, along with some Gnomes.

He seems to be fairly easy for my 14 Druid alt with self-buffs & ~2-3k worth of twinkage.

Good xp, nooby loot, only faction hit is with Faery.

I am a lvl 14 wood elf ranger. i camped ole fear head and killed him about 6-8 times. it seemed every time i killed him the next time was harde. it finaly got to the point where he killed me four times in a row. it seemed like he learns with each battle. I dont know if that is true or not but, thats howit seemed to workout.

I tryed solo this guy with blue pet problem was he resisted fear 2 to 3 times each time i tryed fear not counting resist on Darkness line.After being killed by him,skeleton and lvl 40 horse i have giving up come to conclusion wait till lvl 16 are pets just aint strong enough to have npcs resist fear 2 to 3 times.Looks like im off to Sister Island atleast i know i can kill them.

Ok this goes to 13 waarior know you cant solo this guy he will kill you without 13 lvl Cleric.He hits up to mid 30s and stuns dont mess with him not worth affort.

I take the chance to pop ole gear head everytime I come through LFaye. I have evene spent more than one hour camping him. Last night, on my way to Ak'Anon to buy spells, I popped him and got some extra loot. Not only did he have the short sword that he always does, he dropped a rusty long sword. Now, this is not much, but it does prove that he drops at lest more than the rusty shor sword. I dont know if this is due to the changes in LFaye since the patch but he now will drop more than the shortsword. Maybe we will see some of the things he has been rumored to drop..

I"m a 13 warrior with average equipment for my level. Can I camp him without difficulties?
Also, will he aggro any of the gnomes around him?

yeah you could camp him. Faydwer is like my home on all my characters, i like to stay around here, i have never camped him myself, for fear that Happ Dremblood would agro on me 8(, but other than that i doubt he has a good drop.

I wonder if ol'e coghead is now nerfed. I camped him again last night. The first couple of kills were cake. Then he started resisting my root, like almost everytime. And he did max damage everytime he hit me. It got to the point that I had to leave him alone. He took me out twice and would have a third time if I had not gotten my gate off in time.

Cognoggin spawns at the small collection of gnome huts right in front of the Steamfont zone in LFay. He spawns on top of a small metal outcropping.

What I am about to say I am 100% sure of. How? My lvl 15 wizard was having trouble finding good places to get XP (I was so sick of Crushbone it wasn't funny). So I went to LFay, and camped Cognoggin for the entire level. I killed him at least 35 times.

Now then:

* Cognoggin is ALWAYS a lvl 13 Warrior.

* Cognoggin ALWAYS drops A Rusty Short Sword, and no other items. He also drops randomly between 5 silver and 5 gold.

* The ONLY faction Cognoggin has is Faerie. Yes, after camping him for a level I became KoS to faeries.

* Cognoggin is pretty tough in melee for his level, he hits pretty quick, and from the mid twenties to the mid thirties. He however has very low magic resistance compared to most other MoB's of his level.

His spawn time is almost identical to the time it took my wizard to meditate to max, so he was a perfect camp for me. Add to that the fact that there are never any MoB's around the area where he is and you have yourself a great camp if you don't mind the faction hits.

this is ALL true and accurate, also i have doubts that he can be kited unless ye have SoW AND he is Snared, he sems to run faster than the average mob, he's got 'bout 300hp, hits fer 32 with the delay of a rusty short sword, and is generally fun to camp, oh and spawn is 6 minutes for him and all other gnomies by the cabins, this is all correct, i've killed him 73 times(was KSed 4times)
and other than what i've added here the above information couldn't be more correct

Gearheart drops what you are looking for, trust me. I killed him many many time; the only loot was A rusty short sword, no more, no less.

he drops a part that is required for a quest. I havnt gotten it yet, because I talk a faerie faction hit, and i cant afford it for a quest that i must take around level 40 with the faerie queen. Does anyone know if there is a way to increase faerie faction? I love killing him (good exp)

As a 12th season magician I soloed and camped him. He ONLY lowers faction with faeries (who really hate me now). The loot is 3gp-few cp and ALWAYS a rusty short sword. I just used my water pet with burnout and a fire shield and nuked until he was dead, and no, I'm not twinked

I am a lvl 14 druid on the erollis marr server and This guy does give cruddy loot but GREAT exp. I just snare him and then run and hit. If i run out of mana then i Finish him with my FS morning Star. Do not fear though because the zone is not far from where he spawn and people are usually there camping the other people and they will help u out.

This guy is tough he cons white to me at 13 and he hits REALLY hard around 32! and I have a very high armor class for my lvl! worst of all he drops crap for loot!

I camped Cog for about an hour and a half last night. At 15th level, he cons blue to me, dangerous. He really wasnt much of a problem unless he broke my root spell. When he did get free, he would do good damage and he is fast on the attack.
