Letter of demand issued to manufacturer Niantic.

Concerns over data collection and data dissemination have been raised, and demands made to provide a written testimony as to the collection methods in regards to its function.

A final point of contention raised by high-profile Senator Al Franken (a top VP pick for the Clinton campaign) is whether the data collection is fully anonymized.

And how this collection may or may not be essential to the operation of the app itself. A full explanation is expected within a reasonable time frame (under threat of subpoena if Niantic does not issue a reply)

I used a throw-away google account to sign up. I looked at the other permissions when I downloaded and decided there wasn't anything I personally had to worry about.

At most they could be logging my location via GPS.
