Stop using velium swiftblades

Jace mace is an amazing balance of afforable primary hand weapon that also does really good damage. 750pp for a weapon that's only 12% less damage than a Statue of Rallos Zek hammer.

Velium Swiftblade on the other hand is horrible damage. Yes it has 36% haste, but that does not make up for a 5/24 ratio.

I keep seeing people 50+ rocking something along the lines of a Crystalline Short Sword + Velium Swiftblade. Just get a 2 jade maces and SCHW. You'll do around 16% more damage for about the same price.

I use it in my off hand on my 20 ranger who has no other haste item. My offhand barely swings at this level. So the haste % is great for lower levels, especially those without another haste.
And yes good for archery too :)

Add to that 20% haste from fleeting quiver....and you have 56% haste on your bow!!! That is crazy! For only a couple thousand too.

You can plunk with your damn bow all day and your dps is still useless from it. There's a reason they literally doubled archery damage in Luclin. The only time to bow is if you have a BFG and need the dps. And if you have a BFG you're probably going to have a better haste item.

Low efficiency? Hah! A good archer can out-solo exp most classes! Not only that, but they can hold down camps others couldn't dream of (for example, soloing Tantor!!!!!).

I was engaged for 144 sec. Bit more than 8k! :P #2 DPS. I'm happy with that.
I imagine exquisite / primal / priceless perform similarly. Used my 43 / 45 Warbow.
One of these days I'll parse a full TS burn on something that doesn't stun / fear / need to be pushed.

I'm no archery fanatic, but you're wrong. I've been soloing all kinds of stuff mid-50's with tolans bracer+fleeting quiver+RBB+velium bow. Not good for exping, because it takes forever, but you can farm stuff you could never melee solo, with enough patience. If it roots and doesn't summon, I can kill it. Well, if I have kiting room, that is, it'd be tough in a dungeon. Tightest spot I've done was in Kedge vs. that fierce implaer in the first room.

If you ever get a skydarkener....that will change. You will be able to quad kite sentient armors in wakening lands, or the entire forest in plane of mischief....or wyverns....really nice exps.

Maybe a few years ago when I was a nooby I would have said the same stuff? "Oh no, an sk with low archery cap and a green pet couldn't kill stuff. Would take forever"....but...fast forward to what I know today, and having actually tried it...and it is impressive.

((Also small secret, sub 20 it is insane....since archery bypasses low level damage caps......so you can hit for 30-50's at level 1 with a nice bow :P Pew pew pew! I might make an ogre newbie archer with max str some day and be the hero of gfay!! -thinks-))

Yea, no one said it was killing them as fast as a wizard quad kiting. The difference is a ranger doesn't need to med between fights....so over a stretch of time, the ranger pulls ahead (which is why I could easily clear the entire POM forest, while other soloers around couldn't).

Well, you said it was useless, and it's not. I stated my use for it. I agree its not good for EXPing tho.

Quad kiting Wizard: 33 DPS (20 mana / tick * 10 damage per mana / 6 seconds/tick)
Skydarkener Ranger: 40 DPS (184 * 4 * 2 / 60 = 24 dps from procs + 20 dps from arrows)
Root rotting Shaman: 75 DPS (15 per epic click * 5 targets)
Charming Enchanter: 75 DPS (50 dps x two NPCs fighting each other x 75% uptime)

So this is hardly some magical gamebreaking method, but it's also kinda cool and creative. Granted Ivory has an annoyingly self-aggrandizing writing style filled with exclamation points, but I don't think his ideas are complete nonsense.

Ivory is the shit. The only issue is the summoning time for arrows. Its basically like medding up mana after a quad. Not as bad but you also cant go afk and do it. Ivory still the shit though. Make archery great again.
