View Full Version : Indigo Brotherhood faction - How to fix?

Long story short, I killed the Orc Chief in Lfay on my Innoruuk worshipping human cleric... Before that, he was not KOS to dark elves at the camp in Lfay but now he is. I want to improve this faction without destroying my faction with the high lives and wood elves! Is this possible? Every quest or NPC kill I seen to raise Indigo Brotherhood seems to smash multiple good factions. I am hoping Sorne or someone knowledgable on factions can help me out.

Probably easiest to kill some elves and do some quests to raise THEIR faction a little (maybe do the quests first to give you some buffer faction to sacrifice to chase indigo brotherhood). If you only killed a couple enemies to go over the line, it won't really be much to get back to non KOS.

Here is one to kill (there are a couple in the swamp). http://wiki.project1999.com/Jyle_Windstorm

I think Ivory's right (although Aalderon is really the one to ask). You're going to have to lower good elf faction to raise Indigo Brotherhood again, then fix good elf faction via quests or the like that do not lower Indigo Brotherhood.

I'm afraid I don't know specifics on who to kill or what quest to do. Wait til tomorrow and I'm sure everyone's favorite bixie-loving bard will swoop in with an answer or two :P :)

Try having a high level pull out the mob you need to talk to, maybe charming it or pacifying it if required?

Indigo brotherhood is just the dark elf warrior guild, so those guys shouldn't matter to the actual quest giver, I suppose.

Ok thanks all. I figure that's it, I am going to wreck or lower some goodie factions then find a way to work them back up if I want to improve my DE faction. Sigh.

Yeah it's not for a specific quest atm, I just hate the fact I killed one orc and POW my non-KOS status with DE's is gone. haha.

I want to have this cleric walking and banking everywhere. ;) Plus I have quests to do in Neriak and I don't want to accidentally get DE aggro.

Thanks again.

Unless you accidentally stumble into the warrior guildhall in Neriak, there is zero reason to care about this faction.

Yea, the warriors keep to their guild. The guards don't care about dumb blue orcs.

Indeed. The warrior guild of Neriak is a hermitage unlike any other. They hate the milk and cookie elves each with equal fervor, but few venture beyond their apportioned corner of that dank hole in Nektulos, whence the inkblot menace trickles.

Send me a tell in-game I may be able to help. I just maxed Indigo Brotherhood but I am still farming necklaces for King Naythox Thex so I've been disgarding caps which give a massive +50 per 4. You need to be non-KOS to turn them in but if you only just barely went into KOS you may be able to borrow someone's velium pendant and become nonKOS that way! Otherwise you'll need to kill wood elves (slaves if you're not strong enough for guards) which will take a while.

I'll give you more details if I hear from you.

Just a warning, Jyle Windstrom gives negative merchant of felwith and kelethin... and these aree really hard to raise... it's either 4 shark skin per point or 4 item from newbie zone (including a non stackable ruined wolf pelt...). better look first if there are alternative mob that give indigo brotherhood but not loose merchants

edit: if just barely kos, ornate velium pendant + orc pick seems the best way... ther faction lost there are really easy to get back

Hey Aalderon, I got 4 necklaces turned in to Perrir, actually ran into two pathing NPCs that must be on the Dead faction (they hate my inny cleric) trying to get to him... Oh, before I could even give him the necklaces I had to get a note from his sister to raise my faction with the priests of Innoruuk (odd because, I am a cleric of Innoruuk!), in EFP, that was a trip finding her not a ton of info on the DE sister who sits in EFP cleric guild spot! Anyway, I am on the part where I got Whoopal's head, and I wanted clarification from you what I need to do next you told me ingame, but I can't recall what the next steps were? You mentioned not having to do a certain part I think? I am trying to get the Inny necklace quest done. Any tips/info you got as always are appreciated.

Yes, this needs to go in the bug forum, Human worshippers of Innoruuk should NOT be KOS to The Dead or anyone else by default... they are supposed to be Dubious.

Yep, she is also in the Dark Ones guild (Shamen) in Grobb. The quest is specifically tailored to bring the Innoruuk outsiders (Trolls and Humans) faction up so that they can do the Innoruuk quests. It gives a MASSIVE +300 faction with the Priests of Innoruuk for every turn in and is repeatable.

This is the part you can skip. You don't need Whoopal's head (unless you're a troll.) Just go to Wallin Slyfoot in WC and tell him you 'I will assist' or something along those lines and you'll get the leatherfoot orders to turn in. Be careful because Olavn N'Mar right outside the Spurned guildhall is also on The Dead - you'll need to invis past him until we get the faction bug with them sorted. There's also a pather that goes all the way up upstairs TO the turn-in NPC for the orders you'll want to avoid too.

The faction modifiers for deity: innoruuk, Class: warrior and Race:human/half elf seem to be completely off.

I was investigating it here: http://www.project1999.com/forums/showthread.php?t=164935 but never had any feedback.

Basically I found the p1999 guards were too friendly. The warrior guild, necromancers, clerics and casters were far too aggressive. I think the religious factions didn't value religion sufficiently.

These aren't the only ones that are off. We're aware of this but some of the issues are part of a larger problem with the faction scale overall. The issue is that while certain factions can be scotch-taped to work closer to how they should we need to have the system revamped and we can't revamp it until we have ALL of the classic data for ALL the factions from live. I've just about figured out the exact #s for every single modifier for every faction in Neriak - they won't all work on our current scale. It's complicated to explain and time consuming work but it is being done, rest assured!

If this is something that is interesting to you by all means send me a PM or tell me in-game.
