Did you have a hard time finishing the game? I would have at least made a few mistakes, that would have taken some extra concentration lol.

Should be playing burn decks as you either win or lose almost instantly.

Since only nerds know of this game, one has to wonder what that makes the OP.
Also, he is spam posting on an emulated Everquest forum.
That's like mega-ultra nerd. It is legend.

I play MTG a few times a year with old friends.
King nerd I suppose!
I quit buying or trading for cards when they changed the design layout to look like Star Trek.

That was a big turn off for me as well. There was no need to mess with the look imho.
Made $3500 off my rares and complete sets when I was getting ready to move a few years ago. And I still have a trunk full of playable decks... but don't know any players anymore.

Sold all my cards last year for 2,400.00 to some guy on craigslist. And he drove from 2 states away to get them. =D

I agree. This is around they time when people stopped making fun decks and everyone and their mother was making "net" decks. Is it really fun playing my fun deck against your burn deck. Can we play again please?

I played beta through unlimited and have at least one full set of arabian nights floating around somewhere along with some of the older ones.

People pay big bucks for them. A relative of mine actually owned a couple Moxes, a good friend of mine who still plays has a black lotus and a bunch of other very high-profile original cards...

Yea people pay big bucks for those older sets/cards you gotta think some of them are pretty old now. People that play tournaments like them because I think they do diffrent rule sets like classic etc.

I've sold about $1,500 worth of old cards in the last couple months. I go through them every couple years and it's always worthwhile. I still have in excess of 30,000 cards after pulling somewhere in the neighborhood of $15K out of them since I quit playing in 2000.

Hrm I think SKYPE would be great for the MTG community. I played for a while back in 96-2000. And have a modest collection of cards sans moxes and black lotus. My favorite deck was a variaton on pox. I made a point to collect all the dual colored lands I could find.

Cashed my collection out for around $3,500 when I stopped playing paper in 2008. I had a Mox Emerald, a playset of Mana Drains, Playsets of all Revised Duals, Juzaam, Playset of FoWs, and pretty much everything you can think of outside of the 8 power I didn't own. In retrospect I really wish I had held on to them, since Legacy has become popular the dual lands and FoWs and stuff have doubled in price (I think people pay like $150 for a playset of duallands/FoWs now). If I were selling my collection now I don't think I would have had a problem pulling down over 5k for it. *sadface*
I've spent about $500 on modo since I quit playing in paper though.. M:tg like EverQuest are 2 of my ultra nerdy passions I'll probably never let go of. Both are still going strong 10 and 15 years after I started. :)
Edit: Lesson: If you have Magic cards that aren't garbage, especially old ones DON'T FUCKING SELL THEM! Two years from now you'll double your money, 5 years from now you'll triple it. I don't think the game is going away anytime soon.

A full set of Arabian Nights is worth about $1800 atm. I would take good care of your cards if I were you, especially if you have any valuable alpha/beta stuff.

If I were rich id prolly own all the old sets just for the hell of it and keep them in binders nice and clean. Hell I might even play with them in protective sleeves of course. My favorite card art is prolly the Shivan Dragon, Juzam Djinn is pretty sweet looking to MTG has some of the best card art.

Since Scrye is no longer published, what is the best reference for trading card prices out there? Id like the one most relevant to MTG obv.

starcitygames.com and tcgplayer.com have the most articles and track all the decks that win regional and higher tournaments.

I played legacy goblins and used to go to tournaments and so forth, I highly enjoy the game but turned into a hobby I couldn't afford to keep up with. Been contemplating selling my collection to put the money towards upgrades on my car.

My weekly get together includes Magic, I love this game. I also have a shop on TCG right now I'm trying to build up more. Level 3, just need about 20 more sales and I'll have the final Seller Level!
