Hi everyone! First let me just say this project is great, and I will be addicted to it for quite a long time I will imagine now that I am here. A buddy and I were leveling up last night and we talking about how this server really does feel like it did back in vanilla, mainly because the players we have met so far have been very awesome and helpful. So kudos to the creators/hosters and players alike on that.

I played from Kunark era all the way until GoD just came out. Played a warrior up to level 65 with 200 or so AA. So it's been quite a long time since I have played EQ.

My friend and I are leveling up a druid/nec duo, however since I plan to go at this pretty hardcore I want to level up a warrior also and was wondering if anyone was interesting in teaming up.

I know warrior is a tough class to level as it is very reliant on grouping (especially on this server) but it's something I am pretty set on doing.

An absolutely wonderful player named Marmalede from Bregan D'Aerth gave me some very awesome blackened iron gear so my gear isn't looking to shabby for starters. Hoping to end the day here around level 5 or 6 but I am more than willing to wait up if someone was interested in a reroll.

I'm going to go check out the guild section of the forums but if anyone has any recommendations on some active guilds that don't mind the lower levels please let me know. Would be great to get active and getting to know people.

Anyways, if anyone is interested in playing together pretty actively please let me know and if you have a suggestion for a good guild I am all ears.

Great to be here, hopefully see some of you on the battlefield =)

Hi Safegaurd, just like you, a friend and I started just the other day. We are playing a Warrior / Bard . And as soon as we get an IP exception for my house my wife is playing a druid with us.

Like you I have a Necromancer I'm planning on playing for when no one else is on to group with, or wife is at work so I don't pass everyone up.

And like you said, so far the community is great. I cannot wait to see what the guilds are like!

Nagrith - Gnome Necromancer
Tathos - Halfing Warrior

The guild I'm in, LifeAlert, is very active and newbie-friendly. Check out the application here: http://lifealert.rlsgamer.com/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=3

If you're going to be starting a warrior, the most important thing is to have proccing weapons for aggro. If you don't have that, you're going to be pretty useless as a tank. The Polished Granite Tomahawk is an excellent low-level warrior weapon; you can buy it in East Commonlands for around 100-125pp. You can farm up that plat by selling bone chip stacks, spiderling silk stacks, and high quality bear pelts. Later on, you should get an Obsidian Shard for 400-500pp.

Fantastic tip, thank you. I've already made 25p just soloing here in the Feerott so I will definitely go for that axe.

Man, I'm so rusty from playing other games. =D

I played a Gnome Enchanter til about the same time as Safegaurd it sounds like, little bit after PoP and several hundred AA's.

As a warrior should you be duel wielding when you hit that level or shield weapon combo? I know you can do the inventory item switch out on the fly for bashing. Etc. But seems like when I quit warriors were all duel wielding?

And I will have to look into LifeAlert as well, a good home for leveling up to 50 would be really nice. Just to have some friends for ports or to level with. =)

Warriors will generally dual wield or use a two-hander. The shield is not used as often (at least as far as I've seen) since it means less aggro, which means less time spent tanking. You can always slam for spell interrupts anyway since you're an ogre.
