Hey guys.
Is there a way to change the chat color of a failed Feign Death as a monk? I can't find it in alt+o > Colors. I am thinking there is a /usercolor # associated with it?
Any insight?

If you are trying to recognize when it fails I would add a sound trigger to it. I doubt there is a way to change ONLY monk FD fail msg, and changing a category in general I assume won't help you? Not sure what you are trying to accomplish though.

I use one for tells. I set the trigger on "tells you" text, and it's working.

They most certainly do, I use them alot.
I have audio triggers set up for: things I want to buy in EC, for incoming tells, that my pet has engaged a mob, a particularly loud and annoying one that tells me I've entered Freeport/ButcherBlock via boat, that a spell was resisted, that a DoT has worn off....

What client are you using? I'm using titanium and all the buttons in the audio triggers window are grayed out.

I'll have to look into this, but I don't play with sound on the majority of the time. Usually music. I'm fine with changing a whole group of actions colors, so long as the FD message changes with it. As of now, it is white, along with the majority of the other text messages in the chat window.
I want it to stand out.

It's my understanding that only Titanium is stable and works with P99.

I also use Titanium and it works fine.

Click on Everquest button, go to actions, audio triggers.
Start by writing the phrase, then select the sound, then click create.
The "Create" button will be gray until you actually have a phrase to use.

ir0nfist...How do I change an entire category of colors, that of which includes monk FD? I'm at work right now, but I remember trying "death message" "special abilities" and a few others to no avail.

I'm happy I saw this thread, I had no clue about audio triggers. Hopefully they're simple to set up.

It really is super simple. Obviously you will want to set up different ones for different classes though.

Guinea...I know how to change colors of text, but ir0nfist alluded of a way to change specifically the text for FD, among others that seem to be correlated with it in the "Text Description" part of the picture you posted.
Put more simply: I can get to that window, but I don't know what "Text Description" Feign Death is attributed to, thus I do not know how to change the color.

Hrmm... maybe my custom ui is messing this up? I'll have to try this on a character with the default ui.

alt+V is the default key combo to open the audio trigger window

Can a mod answer this? I don't want to use a sound alert.
How do I change the text color of a Feign Death Failure? Is it possible?

I figured out why my audio triggers window wasn't working. The eqlite installation deletes the audio triggers folder.

I tried and tried and tried to change the color. Ended up changing all the colors available... still no luck. Audio trigger.

Possibly designated a /usecolor # of it's own?

audio triggers work without sound, so whats the deal? way more useful than colors anyway imo. Just turn down ingame sound of everquest (alt-o) but leave the sound of your computer/notebook on.

Fine, I concede. I'll have to look for a new UI since alt+v doesn't load this window for me.

I agree.
The only downside is when I get tells while speaking in Vent the entire raid hears a gong sound. Lot's of fun when I'm playing my chanter. ;)
My solution to that is to only raid with characters that can't buff... no more tells. :p
just fyi, there is not a key mapped to it by default...
alt + O > Keys > UI > scroll all the way down to the bottom, it's the second from last.

Seems nuts that it would be a huge secret. Can't find anything in documentation or web searches. Let's just make rogues.

So i assigned "fallen to the ground" as an audio trigger, and i can test it and hear the sound, but it won't work in realtime...wtf
edit....do i need to zone for this to take affect?

Looking into a couple things here. I had posted something to try but you don't want to do it as it could cause issues. I don't have a monk to find which setting it is but trying something else.
Ok, while I can't test to find which category pertains to the monk, I can tell you this. The text for failing is stored in eqstr_us.txt. Now, if you want, you can alter what this text says when you fail, capitalize it, put a crapload of exclamations or weird characters on both sides of the text string. You cannot use notepad to do this. I think it adds whitespace or something which causes it to get screwed up. You can use something like notepad++ or scintilla or basically any editor you would use to write code or something. You will find this line 1456 %1 has fallen to the ground. I assume this is it. You can change that to whatever you want. This may be for seeing it happen to others I dunno so search for what it tells you when you fail minus your name. It seems like you can't use ascii symbols or if you can I didn't figure out how yet.
As far as the audio trigger, I'm not sure let me look at it real quick. After typing in the string to search for and selecting the sound, did you hit create? It should show up in the bottom area of the audio triggers window.

Sure did. I pressed play to test it, hit create...hit appy, it went into the drop down and it still doesn't do it, very strange...volume is up on computer as well. EQ music/sound/realism in EQ options is all the way down though.

I am retard (<Sarcasm). I was searching for the text, "Phisting falls"...not "Phisting has fallen"
All is well in my low-IQ world now.
