What are your favorite spell particle graphics? Least favorite?

Favorite: Undead nukes and the Coldain ring clicky
Least favorite: invisibility/gate bubbles

Bonus favorites: Ground Bloom and Happy Panda fireworks

I like the disease dots necros have, and splurt how they cascade a huge stream of I-dont-know-what onto the mob for many seconds long it's cool looking!

My least favorite, now this might just be cuz of the sound too, is canni. Weird cloudy green shit poofing around the shaman with that awful sound accompanying it. Hate it.

Fear. The 3D effect of the skulls is still pretty great. Bind Affinity still looks amazing.

I read somewhere that Verant contracted an outside developer to create the particle effects and whoever that was did an outstanding job in that era of computer graphics.

The uhh, the buff one!... you know the one! it was always cool to clearly see what level ( ish ) someone was depending on if it was green, green and orange or green orange and blue! It's also the prettiest so there

My favorite: Druid evac spell line graphics. Like the poster mentioned before me, the level 39+ buff graphic is pretty nice as well. Easily my second favorite!

Least favorite: see invis seems kinda blah to me.

On a side note, my favorite during true classic was the healing graphic. If I recall correctly it had the same graphic we have here on p99, but it also had these big blue bubble effects when the heal landed. My memory on the timeline could be wrong I suppose. I definately remember it being that way a long time ago! :)

Huge fan of the hp buff spells when they have all of the colors as well. I remember the first time I cast it and the blue was there, blew my mind.

Least favorite would likely be see invis.

Set opacity to like 15% and you can see mobs AND the spells.

Least Fav: Canni line and sound. For a spell that is cast as much as canni, something could've been better.

Least: cannibalize and the bard buff songs

Favorite: Wizard Harvest, any "Thunder" line (think Wizzy, Enchanter, Cleric nukes), all of the disease/poison dots (Bane, Pox etc.), Cannibalize, fire spells with the graphic of Starfire/Sunstrike - all of these after 39+ obviously. Starfire/Sunstrike is probably my favorite behind Wizard Harvest.

Least Favorite: See Invisible, Acumen, pet summoning spells

Surprised no one has mentioned the stun particle effect (like Stunning Blow off Adamantite Club). I dig the red and the sound it makes. Also like Flash of Light for some reason.

Sidebar... was opacity classic for particle effects? I don't remember using it. Hell, I didn't even know it existed on p99 so maybe it was, so many of those menu features slip by me.

It wasn't in any classic client. You could only have it completely on or off back then. But It's probably best to allow players to scale the effects back rather than forcing the on/off.
