Well I'm the process of that.

I try not to bitch as much about everything going wrong for the working class. I don't talk about socialism rising with any gusto anymore. That's all old news at this point.

The fact that socialism might win out means that it will likely happen the way it often does. Things get moderately better for the working poor (that's their payoff to society) and the players shift. Away from those currently doing "well" but not ruling. Even some of those ruling. But some of those in the ruling class will hold into their influence and wealth.

I used have some stupid notion the surveillance state might be pushed against. I don't think so anymore. That's exactly where were heading. Social credit systems. Monetized internet. No online anonymity.

So I'm going to go ahead and guess big Tech isn't going to slow down, isn't going to be reigned in. And the people running those companies don't care about anyone holding on to their wealth but themselves. I'm not sure what they plan to do, but that probably what will be the best bet in the longrun.

This all very simple spitballing one beer in. But I'm a few years away at least from actually being able to say something particularly useful to someone like you.

To gain/keep power in an electoral system, one of the most effective strategies is to expand the electorate. Immigrants, women, people that can't/don't vote normally. You can get their votes and gain power.

Another strategy is to make sure voters don't unite by common interest and do you in. So you divide them by fanning the flames of racial, gender, and religious resentment.

This is how feminists get power. Both sides at the top levels benefit from feminists narratives pushed out by Government, AT&T, Disney etc...
