It is possible for them to avoid our defensive surveillance with an assortment of WMD's*, like it is possible for them to invent time travel and smoke us all out when we were an English colony. We have constant military survalence on their land and water boarders. We probably have spies and high grade listening tech in the country itself. It's an A-frame cabin by a fishing lake. I put in a decorated trail through the forest to it too, and a waterfall and pier on the lake. All in survival mode, I mostly only play survival mode, in hard or hardcore.

I don't mod it heavy, just vanilla with some environment mods like lighting and for performance, and an environment sound mod that adds the sounds of birds, crickets, cave water dripping etc depending on where you are in the game.

Really though, the whole situation, it's not dependent on just a single region of the world. I think this is one of the biggest differences in comparison to say the very historic Cuban Missile Crisis (we are in history yet again).

So, it's not just NK, but we have in direct relation Iran and Pakistan to NK. Those are NK's close allies and very active in their own hot spots causing not only concern but too taking actions.

So this involves at least three regions, India, Syria and SK with Japan. And all three countries in question (NK, Iran, Pak.) are able to project munitions far beyond their borders. And really those are only the adjacent countries in the firing line, this is pulling in many countries including all the nuclear powers (US, Israel, China, Russia, Great Brittan etc.). And we don't even know where China stands in this, though Russia is becoming obvious. NK is their border state after all.

But the threat of NK may very well be underestimated. The estimate is that they have some 30 nukes and 13 years ago were given plans by Russia on how to build Enhanced EMP warheads. Those are miniaturized, very low yield weapons, but cause great havoc on electronic systems over a wider area than regular nukes.

The problem with the educational system has nothing to do with funding and everything to do with the lack of punishment for students who misbehave and disrupt the classroom, and the idea that if you study hard, you are "acting white"

When you factor in all the time off, teachers pay is competitive. Again, money is not the issue, it is the lack of discipline in the classroom, all the social engineering pushed down from on top, the lack of parental involvement and support, and society not valuing intelligence and learning, and actually actively working AGAINST learning (the "acting white"/Uncle Tom criticism of students who might otherwise want to try to learn.) The idea that if only we gave every student some fancy computer/tablet/smartphone and chairs plated with gold they would somehow learn so much better is a bunch of bullshit and not evidence-based one iota.

In the past. Freedom was a huge improvement over government coordination at pretty much every endeavor except military and infrastructure. Just ease up the chains a bit and let the people do what they want.

The thing is, that only gets you so far...These days you need not just any government -- but smart government to coordinate things. Otherwise we will fall behind. And by we I mean the entire country -- but particularly the ordinary working people.

Too much freedom is a bad thing IMO. Humans tend to go to shit with complete freedom. The opposite of freedom is obligation in many ways. But whoever accomplishes much without feeling obligated?

What's wrong with independence? Freedom and liberty is part of what made the US so innovative. It's our rugged individualism that makes us so unique. Much of the world changing innovation has come out of the US over the past 200+ years.

Imagine the world w/o the innovative contribution of the US due to it's independence, you might imagine a 17th century world for the most part.

In my opinion North Korea could withstand global thermonuclear war and wait it out 100 years underground.. I think that is what they are hoping to achieve.
