Sondland: Trump directed me to work with Giuliani to push Ukraine on investigations. (https://abcnews.go.com/Politics/trump-directed-work-giuliani-push-ukraine-investigations-sondland/story?id=66341931)
The U.S. ambassador to the European Union will tell Congress that President Trump directed him and others to work with his personal lawyer Rudy Giuliani to push Ukraine to announce investigations, but that he was in the dark on the extent of Giuliani's efforts and the political motive behind it.
Sondland will tell committee staff and lawmakers Thursday that Ukraine announcing "anti-corruption" investigations "was one of the pre-conditions for securing a White House meeting with President [Volodymyr] Zelenskiy," the country's new president eager for U.S. support.

Rightwing activists are attempting to spread new laws across Republican-controlled states that would ban criticism on public university campuses of Israel and its occupation of Palestinian territory. (https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2019/oct/16/conservative-activists-want-to-outlaw-antisemitism-in-public-education-why-is-that-a-bad-thing)
Pro-Israel and conservative lobbyists are encouraging state lawmakers to outlaw antisemitism in public education, from kindergarten through to graduate universities. But the proposed definition of antisemitism is so wide that, in addition to standard protections against hate speech towards Jews, it would also prohibit debate about the human rights violations of the Israeli government.

One of Warrens advisors i know is an economist who has looked into the development of the top capital techs - google, iphones, the like - and has seen, although their visionary pioneers were important, these products would have been little more than novelty toys if it weren't for billions of dollars of state investment dumped into tech research.
You can be sure if Warren's star continues to rise you can guarantee the government is going to be pumping tax dollars into tech missions, not disimilar to the dynamic of the space race, which will (theoretically) lead to spin off products for innovators and visionaries to capitalise.

Mattis took advantage of appearing at a black-tie dinner in New York on Thursday to roast Trump, unleashing clearly pent-up criticisms since he resigned from his post in protest last December. “I earned my spurs on the battlefield; Donald Trump earned his spurs in a letter from a doctor,” Mattis said. Syrian Kurds accuse Turkey of violating cease-fire. (https://www.politico.com/news/2019/10/18/fighting-in-kurdish-held-syrian-town-despite-cease-fire-050659)
The Kurdish-led administration in northern Syria accused Turkey on Friday of violating a U.S.-brokered cease-fire that went into effect overnight, as fighters from both sides clashed in and around a border town that has been one of the fiercest fronts in the Turkish invasion. A spokesman for the Kurdish-led fighters said Friday they were not withdrawing from Ras al-Ayn because Turkish forces are still besieging and shelling it.
Criticism of the cease-fire deal, which President Donald Trump called “a great day for civilization,” mounted. E.U. Council President Donald Tusk said it was “not a cease-fire, it is a demand for the capitulation of the Kurds” and called on Turkey to immediately halt its operation in northeast Syria.

Turkey’s pro-government dominated media hailed the cease-fire agreement as a clear win for Erdogan. “Great Victory” read Yeni Safak’s banner headline. “Turkey got everything it wanted.” Sabah newspaper headlined: “We won both on the field and on the (negotiating) table.”

Turkish president Recep Tayyip Erdogan has said that Donald Trump’s recent letter to him broke with “diplomatic and political courtesy.” It emerged on Thursday that he reacted angrily to the letter, throwing it in the bin and commencing the military offensive, which has left dozens of civilians dead and displaced hundreds of thousands.
Trump also told him he could make a “great deal” with General Mazloum Kobani, leader of the People’s Protection Units (YPG), the Kurdish-led militia that is allied with Washington in the fight against Isis. Erdogan said he was offended by the suggestion that he would meet with Gen. Mazloum Kobani.

Trump seemed to be confused about the nature of the event, announcing that “this is the first time for a woman outside of the space station,” and repeating seconds later that it was “the first-ever female spacewalk.”
NASA astronaut Jessica Meir corrected the President, who seemed to think this was the first time women had ever performed a spacewalk, while making history. Many women have performed spacewalks, or extravehicular activities. Cosmonaut Svetlana Savitskaya was the first woman ever to conduct an EVA in 1984. NASA astronaut Kathryn Sullivan became the first American woman spacewalker later the same year.

Mystery traders 'made $1.8bn from stock bet' placed hours before Trump tweeted talks with China were ‘back on track.’ (https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/us-politics/trump-twitter-china-chaos-trades-stock-bet-market-a9162251.html)
One trade, made just before Iranian drones attacked Saudi Arabian oil production facilities, netted $180m. Another trade, made shortly before Mr Trump announced a delay in tariffs on Chinese goods, made $190m. The biggest trade of all came on June 28, while Trump was at the G20 meeting. There, he met with President Xi and announced trade negotiations were "back on track."
Analysts are divided over whether billion-dollar gains by mystery traders are suspicious or just coincidental.

Republicans lawmakers exasperated by the White House’s lack of discipline and coordination: “Mulvaney needs to learn when to stop talking.” (https://www.politico.com/news/2019/10/18/mick-mulvaney-press-briefing-050855)
“It’s not an etch a sketch,” Republican Rep. Francis Rooney of Florida said about Mulvaney’s comments. “It is kind of hard to argue that he didn’t say it, right? If I understood it correctly, he basically cleared up what was a matter of some vagueness that he basically said it was a quid pro quo.”
“From a legal standpoint, the entire defense is totally shattered by Mulvaney’s admission,” said a Republican close to the White House. “It's like admitting guilt and then saying, ‘It’s just not that serious.’”

America was 'Great' because we leveraged the power of being the global Hegemon to our financial benefit in the wake of most of our competition having completely destroyed industrial bases in WW2. That was and always has been the key to our success since we became a major world power. That shit doesn't happen in a vacuum.
To give up that position by embracing isolationism is to make your dream of 'Make America Great Again' even more of a fantasy. We don't need to maintain an army in Syria or anything, but we have to be smart about draw downs to not toss geopolitical advantage to our rivals, give birth to new terrorist movements and destroy our alliances. It could have been accomplished with an absolute skeleton force, if done smartly.
This hasn't been that smart way.

the only one that benefits from the occupation of middle eastern countries is israel and arms manufacturers, AIPAC is the worlds wealthiest lobby group and have both sides of the political aisle within the US under their influence
us "gaining" points with israel does nothing for the US strategically, if anything israel has been a terrible ally caught red handed committing espionage and even firing upon US forces with vague nonsensical explanations
the lower class people in the US are economically pressured into joining the military because they are from zombie industrial towns with no oppurtunity and then are exploited to the exclusive benefit of foreign powers who then PAY our politicians essentially weaponizing poverty within the US in order to bring in more money to our political entities and their allies (contractors, defense industries like halliburton or lockheed martin) through lobbyist
it's class warfare and disgusting, it's really obvious and the only people who don't acknowledge it are people who regurgitate shit they hear from talking heads in the media
it isn't a partisan issue, both parties within the US are participating
i won't even go into how it is also a form of wealth redistribution from the middle/lower class american tax payer to an oligarchal super rich few that own and participate within the arms and defense contracting industries

You actually can have it both ways. This whole shitstorm only happened because Trump gave Turkey the go ahead. A skeleton force on the border with a stern "Don't do it" was all we needed to protect the Kurds. You don't have to have our army actively kicking ass to get a return from them - what we need is the force projection to cause the other guy to consider it not worth it. Which really does not require much from us.
Trump sucks. His Syria policy has been a complete disaster. Personally I think TD is nothing but an enormous conman playing the country for fools, but that's a seperate issue.
Obama sucked. He did a poor job in the Middle East imo, and his initial withdrawal was... well, pretty similar to what Trump just did. Bad call, broke the whole thing. Same thing Trump is doing imo.
Bush was a bull in a china shop and broke the whole thing in the first place. Saddam was not a good person - but Saddam had control, and in the Middle East the Strongman is everything, it's just the way that place works. See: Assad. We broke it, we bought it. I would be delighted if we had never gone into Iraq (and on bullshit reasons no less) but we did, and this broken ME is what we have now. We can either exert enough influence to try and stabilize it like we have been... or hand it to our rivals(RU) on a silver plate while creating a terrorism incubator.
Why is Russia so invested in Syria? It's the oil stupid. Syria is ideal as a transport hub for oil and natural gas to Europe, including that produced in Iraq by gazprom. Naturally Russian troops moved into US positions as soon as we dropped everything and ran. This is a major step in Russia cementing energy dominance over Europe, which is a pretty big problem for the US.

Okay, so there's this thing called the Atlantic Ocean, and it kind of makes shipping natural gas and even oil (although honestly, oil is easymode, but it is still a lot cheaper to not transport it that far) to Europe pretty fucking hard, but mostly the natural gas. This big, big wet thing means that our geopolitical rival (Russia) doesn't have to bother with all of this expensive, annoying business, and can just pipe it all right to Europe or ship it far shorter distances in expensive LNG ships as natural gas requires liquefaction before it can be shipped overseas (this is our big problem in the states fyi, the process is expensive).
Perhaps you have now come to the realization that our rival having control of most of our allies energy sectors is not a good thing, and that could do rather serious things to the current global balance of power that we do not want. Hopefully.

A) That kid signed up to join the military to protect America's interests
B) This is America's interest
C) The Kurdish population is in the tens of millions, generalizing them as terrorists is stupid
D) Conflating the Kurds in general with the PKK is an extremely incorrect brainlet view.
E) We have been operating in conjunction with the Kurds since before even Gulf War 1. We've stabbed them in the backs multiple times, but they are an absolutely different breed from Sunni terrorists.

Trump officials say aid to Puerto Rico was knowingly stalled after Hurricane Maria. (https://thehill.com/homenews/administration/466552-top-trump-admin-officials-say-aid-to-puerto-rico-was-knowingly)
Two officials with the Department of Housing and Urban Development acknowledged during a hearing this week that the agency knowingly stalled sending hurricane relief funding to Puerto Rico after missing a legally required deadline to do so. The officials said that the agency missed a deadline issued by Congress to start a process to help Puerto Rico receive billions in federal housing funds that Congress had allocated after Hurricane Maria hit the island in 2017.

No, it doesn't change everything. It just proves that when someone like yourself comes here and blasts Trump for incorrectly stating something, it happens on both sides. Whatever information you are getting is ALWAYS biased. For both sides. So yes, if you are not aware of all the problems or intelligence for that instance, you must go based off people that do. If you elect someone, you trust they have the nations best interest. Do you think Trump would willingly want to do something bad and go down as the worst President in history, do you think he's got some crazy motive to turn the US into a authoritarian country? He is doing what he thinks is good, if you don't trust that, too bad. Wait for next election and see what happens.
If your answer was yes to either question above, you are now diving into conspiracy theory territory. So I'd respond back with, "Just have faith in what the media is telling you" only works for 12 year olds, fools and conspiracy theorists.
Senegal chimps are not animals?
Well obviously you missed that point. Not surprised. The point was he had to say "unarmed animals," it's obvious that animals will not be taking up arms and fighting back. It's a virtue signal for shock value. And this was with the person who argued that meat farms are better than live game. And yes, I watch Rogan, I already know about the Senegal Chimps that will eventually reach the stone age in 10,000 years:cool:.

Maybe we can organise ethical hunting parties around the gold mines where we prey on the most deadliest animal (chimps with spears). Alot of the immigrant gold rush workers are from countries where chimp is considered bushmeat so we could recycle the waste product for a side business visitor centre bar 'Kebabpanzee' where we serve chimp kebabs grilled on a sharpened stick.

Meanwhile, several GOP lawmakers have reached out to White House officials to urge Trump to reconsider his Doral decision, which they worry smacks of corruption. At the very least, they’re pressing Trump to publicly commit to hosting the international leaders free, to avoid any appearance that he’s using his office to enrich himself.
“Zero chance they do it for free,” one GOP official predicted. “Remember all the Eric Trump cancer fundraiser stuff? Trump went ballistic when he found out the club wasn’t charging the charity.”

What does the Obama years have to do with me specifically and believing that you should be consistent? I'm with Ben Shapiro on the boat of I'm not always Trump or never Trump. I'm sometimes Trump. When he does something good that I'm for, I agree. When it's bad to me, I don't. He's the best option that would not diminish personal rights and force anyone to do anything.
On military applications, I would trust they are making the right decision just like we have for every presidential campaign. No one can predict the future, you are dealing with groups of people that have different philosophies, a ton of politics globally and back door trade deals, if any of us were to be the person to ask to make a decision with our knowledge, we'd surely make it wrong.

GOP congressman Rooney appears to announce retirement after criticizing Trump. (https://www.politico.com/news/2019/10/19/francis-rooney-announce-retirement-000291)
The news came one day after Rooney told CNN he couldn't dismiss the possibility that the president committed an impeachable offense in his dealings with Ukrainian officials. Rooney, who has been sitting in on closed-door depositions connected to the House’s impeachment probe, has been one of the few Republicans to publicly express alarm over Trump’s communications with Ukraine.
The Florida Republican said Friday he was “shocked” by Mick Mulvaney’s admission of a quid pro quo and said it would be difficult for the White House to walk the comments back, predicting it “very well could be” a turning point in the Ukraine saga. “He basically said it’s a quid pro quo, which is not a good thing,” Rooney said.

And yes I would. I can honestly say I've never gone to a forum and complained about Obama. Troll or not. I could say I would disagree with some of the stuff but never vocalized. From my experience, I don't like to comment because the company I am in was a start up. As we grew, we needed to bring people into our industry which is Finance & Insurance. 90% of the time, when you got someone who came in and tried to dictate from an outsiders perspective, they would fuck it up. When you listened to people who had the process or had dealt with the issues, even though it wasn't always clean, it was better. They had already experienced the problems and knew all the inner workings. Now, you are basically giving an ultimatum and saying that I'm stating "Trust the President or not." It depends on the situation. If you are an oil worker and Trump is doing something to oil, well shit yeah you have the knowledge and go for it. But the picture you are painting is that there isn't two sides to the coin and there is. There is the media and dems that have an agenda and there is Fox news, right wing media and Trump. You are putting your truth in the media and dems and saying Trump is a traitor. I am saying I'd like to see some outcome first.

“Again, that’s not what I said, that's what people said I said,” he replied. Asked by Wallace why the president “caved” to the bipartisan backlash, Mulvaney said Trump was “honestly surprised at the level of pushback,” adding that the president “still considers himself to be in the hospitality business.”

All they passed was Obamacare. And in response to the typical and expected replies, YES, the RNC also suffers from a similar mechanic, that is why Roe v Wade will NEVER be repealed, for example. Both parties are corrupt whores just looking to maximize the cash inflow

Democrats in the first 2 years of Obama actually did not have a 60 vote supermajority. Due to the deaths of Sen Kennedy and Sen Byrd, the Democrats could only piece together that supermajority through the help of Lieberman, who was an independent and opposed to most 'liberal' ideas, and the 'supermajority' was broken by Scott Brown winning a special election.
So basically, the 2009-2010 Democrat 'Supermajority' only existed for 4 months, in which time they passed a major healthcare overhaul that had to be semi-gutted just to get Lieberman onboard (Basically the reason we don't have a public option).

Do journalists who report on our president automatically belong to the “establishment?” Might some of them be concerned citizens who simply happen to work for corporate news outlets, but nonetheless report facts, like our President permitting turkey to commit genocide against Christians in north east Syria?
I’m not too worried, iranian Shiite militias fight dirty and will pummel Sunni trash into the earth, but nonetheless

Facebook chief executive officer Mark Zuckerberg has privately recommended several potential hires to Pete Buttigieg’s presidential campaign, a rare example of direct political involvement from one of tech’s most powerful executives.
Earlier this year, Zuckerberg sent multiple emails to Mike Schmuhl, Buttigieg’s campaign manager, with names of individuals that he might consider hiring, campaign spokesman Chris Meagher confirmed. Priscilla Chan, Zuckerberg’s wife, also sent multiple emails to Schmuhl with staff recommendations.

San Francisco's Homeless Problem Escalates
But to say the city hasn't tried to address the problem would be wrong. It has. The problem is that it has backfired spectacularly.
One of the biggest statewide blunders is Proposition 47.
Supported by the California Democratic Party and championed by the American Civil Liberties Union, the referendum was passed by a wide margin in 2014. The idea behind it was to reduce certain non-violent felonies to misdemeanors in order to free up resources for cops and prosecutors to go after serious, violent offenders. This included downgrading fraud, forgery, shoplifting and grand theft as long as the total value of the stolen property was less than $950.

Transgender Activists Force Always Brand to Remove ‘Female’ Symbol from Sanitary Products
Transgender activists have reportedly forced feminine product brand Always to remove the “woman” symbol from their product’s packaging.
Procter & Gamble, the company that manufactures the feminine products, bowed to the transgender lobby when a transgender activist named Ben Saunders allegedly complained about the company’s use of the symbol in June.
Saunders posted the brand’s reply to Twitter, which reportedly read, “We are glad to inform you that as of December we will use a wrapper design without the feminine symbol.”

Feminist Backlash After Sanitary Pad Company Caves to Trans-Activists
Prominent feminist writer, Julie Bindel, told The Mail on Sunday: “Removing the female symbol from sanitary towel packaging is basically denying the existence of women. We’re now moving towards the total elimination of women’s biology. The women’s symbol has been used by feminists for decades. This is pure cowardice and virtue signalling from these big corporate brands who are capitulating to the trans agenda.

San Francisco puts 22 states on blacklist for restrictive abortion laws
City employees in San Francisco are now forbidden to take work trips or do business with companies in 22 states that have “restrictive abortion laws.”
Mayor London Breed and Supervisor Vallie Brown announced the measure last week.
“Every day in this country, women’s reproductive rights are threatened, and we have to fight back. Just as we restricted spending with states that have laws that discriminate against LGBTQ people, we are standing up against states that put women’s health at risk and that are actively working to limit reproductive freedoms,” Breed said in a statement.

Transgender Cyclist Rachel McKinnon continues to smash women’s cycling records, the latest being a “world record” in the women’s 200m sprint.
McKinnon, 37, not only set the record in the 35-39 category but also won the 200m gold medal at the Masters Track Cycling World Championships on Sunday. Canadian McKinnon beat out American Dawn Orwick, and Denmark’s Kirsten Herup Sovang, who took silver and bronze behind McKinnon.
Dr. Rachel McKinnon, who was born a man, also won the 2018 UCI Masters Track Cycling World Championships in Los Angeles in 2018, among other events.
But not everyone was thrilled by the big win.
Jennifer Wagner-Assali, a competitor who lost to McKinnon in the past — but did not race last weekend — called McKinnon’s win “unfair,” the Times reported.
“It was an unfair race, and I accepted that when I pinned on the number, and I tried to do my best to overcome the unfairness,” Wagner-Assali said of McKinnon’s dominance over natural-born female racers.
“I do feel that hard-fought freedoms for women’s sport are being eroded. If we continue to let this happen, there will be men’s sports and co-ed sports, but there won’t be any women’s sports,” Wagner-Assali added.
