The thing with mass shootings these days, these MINORITY of mass shootings that happen in America but trigger the outrage and media storms (because any of us could be in one, not just the day to day gang banging that normal's don't actually care about) where innocent people are shot up by a nutcase with a gun... Remind me more of the rash of serial killings that were rampant through America between the 1960's to the 1980's

The serial killings were a fad, self fulfilling prophecy so to speak, its a natural effect in society, but they sort of seemed out of control and they were happening more and more.

The reality was they were inspiring each other, they became a fad, and as shock and horror by the masses and the press died down because they were over reported on and seemed to have no solution, interest waned in them and eventually the numbers of them died down. Make no mistake, these killers were performing these killings not just to apease their sick desire, but also their narcissistic ones.

I feel like these mass shootings are our generations serial killings. And like the number of serial killings in the USA, they will die down. Its a fad. A fad that appeals to sick people, but a fad none the less.

Make no mistake. If someone is going to perform a mass shooting, they have an interest in the same mass shootings that you're upset about, only instead of being upset that they happen, they think about other things they are upset with and get inspired to do one themselves. They want the attention, the self gratification, all of it.

As the collective horror over these events die down, which it is, hence the LV shooting just fading into memory mere months after it happened, means that these record breaking mass shootings themselves will start to die down as well.

Will they ever come to an end all together? HELL NO.. there will always be mass killings.

You could get rid of all the guns, and you'll still see em. We saw one with a truck last week. You could give everyone in the country food and shelter, and you'll still see them. You could give everyone the healthcare they deserve and security, and they'll still happen.

But.. what we see these days, the attraction of playing lone survivor and settling the score by making it to the front page with a record breaking mass murder, will eventually die down. At least in the form that we see it today. Excpect bombs or some shit to be another version of this that you'll see in your golden years, or maybe robot drones controlled by hacker psychopaths, who knows what horrors we will see as time goes on.

Are we at the peak or the decline of the American mass shooting? that remains to be seen. I feel like we're due for many more, but we will see them start to peter off over the next 10 years.

But.

It depends on state but in the end after all the paperwork to be a legal importer or buyer youre going to be out a up to around 8k even in the deep red states.

First, it is absurd that the Democratic Party now gives over 700 superdelegates—almost one-third the number a presidential candidate needs to win the nomination—the power to control the nominating process and ignore the will of voters.

Second, in contrast to Republicans, Democrats believe in making voting easier, not harder. We believe in universal and same-day voter registration and ending antiquated, arbitrary and discriminatory voter registration laws. These same principles must apply to our primaries. Our job must be to reach out to independents and to young people and bring them into the Democratic Party process. Independent voters are critical to general election victories. Locking them out of primaries is a pathway to failure.

In that regard, it is absurd that New Yorkers must change their party registration six months before the Democratic primary in order to participate. Other states have similar, if not as onerous provisions.

Third, in states that use caucuses, we must make it easier for working people and students to participate. While there is much to be said for bringing people together, face to face to discuss why they support the candidate of their choice, not everybody is able to participate because of work, child care or other obligations. A process must be developed that gives everyone the right to cast a vote even if they are not physically able to attend a caucus.

Finally, if we are to succeed, we must fully appreciate Brazile’s revelations and understand the need for far more transparency in the financial and policy workings of the Democratic Party. Hundreds of millions of dollars flow in and out of the Democratic National Committee with little to no accountability. That simply is not acceptable.

Special Counsel Mueller Issued Subpoena for Russia-Related Documents From Trump Campaign Officials
Special counsel Robert Mueller’s team in mid-October issued a subpoena to President Donald Trump’s campaign requesting Russia-related documents from more than a dozen top officials, according to a person familiar with the matter.

The subpoena, which requested documents and emails from the listed campaign officials that reference a set of Russia-related keywords, marked Mr. Mueller’s first official order for information from the campaign, according to the person. The subpoena didn’t compel any officials to testify before Mr. Mueller’s grand jury, the person said.

The subpoena caught the campaign by surprise, the person said. The campaign had previously been voluntarily complying with the special counsel’s requests for information, and had been sharing with Mr. Mueller’s team the documents it provided to congressional committees as part of their probes of Russian interference into the 2016 presidential election.

The Trump campaign is providing documents in response to the subpoena on an “ongoing” basis, the person said.

A spokesman for the special counsel declined to comment.

Mr. Mueller and congressional committees are investigating whether Trump associates colluded with Russian efforts to interfere in the 2016 U.S. election. Mr. Trump has denied collusion by him or his campaign, and Moscow has denied meddling in the election.

In their letter, the senators mentioned a document that Mr. Kushner had forwarded involving “a Russian backdoor overture and dinner invite.” The letter doesn’t give other details about the material. A Judiciary Committee spokesman didn’t immediately respond to questions about the document.

The senators addressed the three-page letter to Mr. Kushner’s attorney, Abbe Lowell. What they fail to realize is, it's not really the socialists that are coming for their farm or is going to make them move or their kids urbanize. It's the capitalists -- particularly the elite business wing of the Republican party.

They vote Republican and it is often completely and openly run by the business wing. Military is kind of uncontroversial, and Organized Religion seems content as long as the candidate is right on abortion and doesn't molest boys and/or girls.

you're comparing things that happened in the GOP with things that may happen with the DNC they are two different groups of people who behave entierly differently.

So nothing that happened in the GOP, should indicate what will happen in the DNC.

If the economy is hot no one unseats Trump. If GDP is 3.0 or better. Blue collar wages are already climbing significantly in 1 year. That keeps the rust belt firmly in GOP hands. Well, you could perceive the people living under the degradation of the IRGC as victims yearnig to be free or you could give a worse nation (Saudi Arabia) the green light to start a war that they'll lose, thereby dragging Americans into conflict with people who don't actually want to fight the US

Iran helped us in Afghanistan in 2001 and cares more about stability than the Saudis. But yes, if you are a sucker for the Israeli position then Iran is certainly a problem. How does igniting another war in the Middle East solve that, I wonder?

I admit Warren sounds kind of like a psychopathic idiot on Foreign Policy...But she is the only one that understands the tax code well enough to catch a lot of BS. I guess the question is -- is she just trying to say what she needs to in order to sound tough, informed, intelligent, and slightly masculine on T.V.?
