I admit Warren sounds kind of like a psychopathic idiot on Foreign Policy...But she is the only one that understands the tax code well enough to catch a lot of BS. I guess the question is -- is she just trying to say what she needs to in order to sound tough, informed, intelligent, and slightly masculine on T.V.?
My guess is yes.
But Bernie probably is the best I've been thinking. Bernie is the least corrupt out of any known Democrat.
Warren's style is just toxic to a lot of people. Bernie can win some white rural voters, Warren can't. Also, Warren is the only person I'd vote for trump over at this point. Every time she talks I feel like I'm listening to my 2 year old granddaughter

I don't know shit about newsom I'll admit that, but Brown isn't popular? Biden would win for sure. No one thinks the popular gov of California could win?

I feel like after the cuck'ing for hillary while her base simultaneously rippped him for being a sexist and at fault for her losing, means that he would get trounced in 2020... still the best politician for the job, despite his SJW flaws. But I doubt it could work.
Too many independents on the right know who he is now and think his name is synonymous with cuck or communist. He had a window but the DNC shut it for him.
mickmoranis
11-21-2017, 09:31 PM
Also he is on record for saying the GOP politicians accused of sex harrasment should resign, but defending Frakin and saying we shouldnt worry about the past as far as bill goes.
So hes digging himself into a hole that would get him shamed hard in a fight with trump in a way that trump voters would be energized from. Just not possible anymore.
Im sure we'll see Warren as a half assed attempt at the left trying to pander to the sexist women of the party and the cucky men who want a socialist. She really is the perfect candidate for the libtardnation.

Well, you could perceive the people living under the degradation of the IRGC as victims yearnig to be free or you could give a worse nation (Saudi Arabia) the green light to start a war that they'll lose, thereby dragging Americans into conflict with people who don't actually want to fight the US
Iran helped us in Afghanistan in 2001 and cares more about stability than the Saudis. But yes, if you are a sucker for the Israeli position then Iran is certainly a problem. How does igniting another war in the Middle East solve that, I wonder?
Apologies, by Iran being a problem I meant the regime in power for the past few decades, not the people of Iran as a whole.

Yeah, I agree. But the people who are our friends in the region (Israel and Saudi Arabia), are arguably just as bad. Saudi Arabia is worse and run by the Arab version of Jared kushner. Crown prince dumb fuck of the house of saud is going to start a war with Iran, mismanage it and face surprising resistance from the Islamic republic, and then we'll get dragged into the conflict. Saudi Arabia wants to fight Iran to the last American

Roy Moore is a jackass from Alabama who wears a cowboy hat. Even though Alabama is by no stretch of the imagination a western state where that kind of hat is historically justified.
I think that's all you need to know about Roy Moore.
Edit: Moore rejects the theory of evolution, saying "There is no such thing as evolution. That we came from a snake? No, I don’t believe that."[167] In 2010, Moore ran attack ads in the Republican gubernatorial primary against his opponent Bradley Byrne, questioning Byrne's faith on the grounds that he had supported the teaching of evolution while on a local school board.
Moore has been described as holding "virulently anti-gay" beliefs.[166][13] Moore is supportive of laws to make homosexuality illegal, and has argued that same-sex parents are unfit to raise children, that openly gay individuals should not be allowed to serve in government, and that the legitimization of various forms of "sodomy" may cause suffering in the United States.[166][13][194] He believes that homosexuality goes against "the laws of nature" and stated it is comparable with bestiality

And that brings me to one of the reasons I thought to bring all this shit up:
The big Washington food fight (https://www.politico.com/story/2017/11/26/food-lobby-consumer-tastes-washington-190528)
The Grocery Manufacturers Association is essentially falling apart. I think it's because elites are realizing they want skinny, stronger, better looking inferiors. So their done doing this game of hide-the-sugar and toxic preservatives.
See in the past they banned together -- if we all sell crap, then entire grocery store will be filled with crap! and everyone eats crap, therefore we don't have to stop selling crap. But then the defectors began to offer healthy options like whole wheat products.
Soon it will be a race to pander to all the health conscious 30 year old millennials. This is the fastest group of people signing up for the gym now BTW. So if you want to be part of the better looking 30s/40s/50s crowd -- id get your ass to the gym.
Kind of got lost among the debate about whether it was wrong to call people fat when their fat ass is oozing out of their cloths and they have that down-cast "ahh shit I'm fat" look on their face. This condescending bullshit -- as if they don't know what you're doing.
But I ask you -- Is the free market going to solve the problem of obesity? Or are we going to have to make it straight illegal to sell cinnabon at 7/11's....no one should indulge in something that unhealthy and not even get the real damn thing at a bakery somewhere.
Maybe we just have to make it illegal for all fast food burgers to be half fat and extremely low grade meat. Maybe people can't be trusted with the responsibility of demanding better food. So then McDonalds or whatever would have to try a business model where they provide real meat in their burgers on whole wheat buns or some shit.
If we leave it to consumers -- will we have quality food widely available? Or will we continue to have to be considered a health nut and pack our own damn salad lunch to avoid eating shitty quality food?
We'll see... I think authoritarianism might be the answer through. You guys do understand why having junk food EVERYWHERE and health food more limited is a way of encouraging fatness and unhealthy indulgence right?

Americans are busy. We work more hours per week than any other worker among the advanced western democracies. So a lot of times they have to eat out (until they have a very organized home life and can pack their own food). The vast majority of that food is in a race to the bottom to taste good.
What's the best way to make things taste good? Well putting a bunch of butter on the veggies will help. Maybe a ton of sugar and MSG in the sauce will get critics raving. Some kind of heavy carb on the side is usually the options like sour dough bread or a big ass russet potato (nice and buttery too). That is -- if your not just having french fries like everyone else does these days.
Everyone is doing it. Too many young people and ectomorphs get away with this -- and the rest just get fat or are construction workers that do lots of heavy physical work (even then some get fat). So they have no visible reason not to order the fries until their doctor insists they are dying.
Fries are fucking delicious. They are potatos fried in oil with salt -- amazing. All you need is stuff with sugar to dip them in like ketchup and complete that primal desire to seek fat, salt, sugar, in a solidly filling potato. It keeps coming back because there is no nutrition or fiber in them.
People are too weak and stupid to say no to that. Right now there is probably some guy planing to get fries having read that. Maybe fries should be illegal. Just during lunchtime. Bars can sell them or something.
Don't get me started on how fucked up donuts are. Are we really going basically state-sponsor donuts by providing them next to the cofee at every damn government office in America? These damn things kill -- they are the worst of the worst health-wise and they probably put your workforce in a food coma before 5.

But you do care. You even said if they were someone you loved or as you put it, "liked" you'd even loan them money to help them with their medical costs.
that was a hypothetical answer to a hypothetical question you gave me about a family member being fat.
Im talkn strangers. I could care less if a stranger is sick.
I also wouldnt lend them money.
but if they were my family that is a different story.
However, even they dont get a pass just because. They might be better off dead IMO.

I think it's easy to write such things like this, especially if you never had a loved one in such a position, or you yourself have always been fortunate enough to not be in such a bind.
Over time chances are such trials may come your way, I hope you fair well if you have to face such situations regarding medical expenses, health crisis, etc.
I realize you use hyperbole at times to make your points, but a lot of what you write is not very realistic concerning other people.
I think you apply your own personal experiences to how you think things are or should be in your own mind, when that's simply not understanding the world around you. This gives the appearance you lack empathy, but I feel this is not the case. I think you just lack experience and the wisdom that comes with such experiences.

Because of the high cost and unpredictable nature of medicine -- it's best if we use a collective emergency pot of money to pay for those that happen to need it.
There are some health problems that are more predictable. We should try to prevent the ones we can. It starts with us deciding we are not going to eat fucking french fries, or donuts, or deep fried meats covered in sweet and sour sauce.
But getting hit by a car or having some kind of cancer or tumor...not really predictable. Not realistically. So you can't realistically expect people to save for the eventuality. Making them all buy health insurance is probably the worst way to deal with this problem. But that's what were stuck with because no one has the balls to look the insurance corporations in the eye and say "you're going to have to fire everyone and liquify your assets."

uh i think you're not reading though, no offence.
Have you payed for someones cancer treatment in your family?
No?
Then dont presume that I am fortunate enough to not have someone in such a bind, i have. I have also not been expected to pay for their cancer treatment. That is how I know I would never feel guilt if a family member were going through the same thing, because of an inibility to make even the most basic of decisions. Such as not eat at mcdonalds.
If they were fat, and dying because of it, i certainly wouldn't even consider paying for their "treatment" to make them not die of fat.
Simply put, if people are dying of heart disease and diabetes, there is no way in hell, im voting for the guy that gives me mandates to pay for their healthcare.
I am right in that line of thinking, hence the inability for us to pass single payer healthcare in the USA
there is a huge difference between us and people in countries where they have that. They recycle, they take care of themselves, they eat healthy, and live safer lives because the government has taken away some of their inalienable rights.
We wont, dont, never will, and will never give up those rights.
So our health costs are astronomical.
And instead of fixing those peoples problems, you spend time bitching at people for being greedy that they dont want to spend all their money fixing someone else, who could take care of themselves on their own but because they are of a weaker stock, wont.
Sorry, no. Hard pass. Wont be voting for cucksanders... thanks for ensuring my decision.

So I read the National Review's hit piece on Warren (http://www.nationalreview.com/article/454121/elizabeth-warren-native-american-heritage-harvard-fraud). Again trying to make mountains out of molehills on the Native American box being checked on her college application. That and some wobbly over-emotional BS about the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB), an unconstitutional monstrosity that was designed to exist above and outside our nation’s system of checks and balances.
Oh boohoo we tried to make an institution that could tell banks to split up -- what a monstrosity and travesty for the country. Except it was always just a in-case institution anyway. No matter -- Republicans killed that and felt good about it.

I never watched this ben Shapiro guy, but felt inclined to check him out seeing how many people here seem to idolize him.
I found him entertaining to listen to, he's articulate if not a bit hyperactive in his delivery.
I found comments to him most interesting though, particularly from Trumptards (did I do it right?) that got angry that Shapiro "insulted" Trump when he was critical of Trump lashing out at Elizabeth Warren during a ceremony that was gathered to honor the codetalking Native Americans.
Even Shapiro called Trump a "buffoon" for this. Perhaps it's not racist, but nonetheless it was highly distasteful and cartoonish to decide to use this platform to attack Warren. Shapiro went in great depth on this topic too btw.
This only showcases Trump's lack of empathy and constant need to feed his inner ego by using his platform to tear others down instead of using it to lift others up. It didn't surprise me one bit, he has been a raging narcissist his entire life.
My point is, Trump supporters defend Trump blindly and show no objective critical thinking as Shapiro does on Trump. I have to respect that about Ben Shapiro.

but in the context of a cultural movement spurred by agents of the state executing black people in the street, it's a pretty obtuse and insensitive point to make at this time. for reference, i'm referring to "Black Lives Matter" vs "All Lives Matter", which is a big part of how we arrived at this point.

https://www.reuters.com/article/us-usa-trump-russia/ex-trump-adviser-flynn-charged-with-lying-to-fbi-expected-to-plead-guilty-idUSKBN1DV50N
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - U.S. President Donald Trump’s former national security adviser Michael Flynn lied to the FBI about his contacts with Russia’s ambassador to the United States, the U.S. special counsel’s office charged in a court filing made public on Friday.
The Office of the Special Counsel, which is investigating alleged Russian meddling in the 2016 U.S. presidential election and potential collusion by Trump’s campaign, said a plea hearing for Flynn had been set for 10:30 a.m. EST (1530 GMT) on Friday.
Flynn is expected to plead guilty.
Flynn, a retired Army general who was fired from his White House post in February after revelations he had misled Vice President Mike Pence about his conversations with the Russian ambassador, is a central figure in the federal investigation led by Special Counsel Robert Mueller.
The charge against him is another escalation in an investigation that has cast a cloud over the Trump administration since the Republican president took office on Jan. 20.
In a filing with the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia, the office said Flynn made false statements to the Federal Bureau of Investigation on Jan. 24.
Flynn falsely told FBI officials that in December 2016 he did not ask Russia’s ambassador to the United States to refrain from escalating the situation after Washington had imposed sanctions on Moscow, according to the filing.
The sanctions were imposed by outgoing Democratic President Barack Obama.
Flynn, who was a senior adviser to Trump before the president took office, also falsely stated that he did not recall the Russian ambassador telling him that Moscow had chosen to moderate its response to U.S. sanctions as a result of his request, the document alleged.
The filing, dated Nov. 30, also said Flynn falsely stated that he did not ask the Russian ambassador earlier in December to delay a vote or defeat a pending U.N. Security Council resolution, and that the ambassador never described Russia’s response to his request.
Moscow has denied a conclusion by U.S. intelligence agencies that it meddled in the election campaign to try to sway the vote in Trump’s favor. Trump has denied any collusion by his campaign.

Once again Mitch McConnell -- one of the richest men in the senate despite that he only ever worked for government -- saves the day for Republicans (https://www.politico.com/story/2017/12/02/how-mcconnell-got-tax-win-276015).
I don't understand how the red necks in Kentucky that vote him in aren't aware that very little happens in Washington without McConnell's approval. He plays ultra conservative card in public and with his voting record. However, behind the scenes hes the big centrist lining up the votes for every fucked up policy since the Bush era.
McConnell is the Republican Hillary Clinton. He's just smart enough not to try to be president.
Edit: Seriously, Hillary would have been a lot better off staying a Senator.

probably. bernie had more appeal than Trump to the heartland and swing states, of which Hillary had absolutely none.
Question is, would Trump go after Bernie the same way Hillary went after Bernie? Using "socialism" and calling him "socialist" as a repetitive slur.
If Hillary were to have been eliminated in the primary, does Trump use her playbook and beat Bernie head to head? Is "he's a socialist" meme adaptable to the Trump campaign or was that just a Hillary elitist California-NYC demo thing. I'm not sure how the heartland would respond to the slur, since we don't educate low info voters on different types of governments, nor is Bernie actually a socialist which adds an extreme layer of difficulty in explaining.
2016 regardless of your politic was a once in a lifetime whopper. We'll retell it decades from now. "remember that time Hillary celebrated her win on a private jet while facing a landslide electoral college loss of epic proportions"...."tell us about it dad!"

MORE appeal? I suppose. Let's be honest both were hideous choices, right? This election was the first time where I honestly felt I had zero choice.
I despised Hillary's fake stupid southern accent when she ran around southern states coupled with her disingenuous faky shit eating grin, she just oozed slimeball. I know enough of her past political history as well as her husbands to understand I wanted nothing to do with her in the White House.
I looked at Trump nearly the same just with slightly different slimeball attributes that made him 100% disgusting to me as a human being. He's nearly the same as Hillary only he is less eloquent in speaking and seems a bit more stupid, but he is adept at trolling on Twitter I guess that is a plus?
Fact is they both are narcissistic lying sociopaths.
When I seen that these two presidential nominees were being propped up before us as a nation, I understood then the puppetmasters truly were in full control of who was to be our president because never have I ever see such a pile of shit to choose from regarding who was to be the next POTUS.

You guys don't even realize what this tax bill means. It's Republicans signaling that they gave up any chance of getting a popular majority in the near future. The tax code is historically unpopular and I have not even seen good "fake news" reasons why it should be good for anyone. Some garbled B.S. about how trickle-down economics will surely work this time!
Tim Kane* published an article (https://www.realclearpolitics.com/articles/2017/12/03/redefining_winners_and_losers_on_taxes.html): Redefining 'Winners and Losers' on Taxes to convince us. It says that we were looking at it all wrong. Who cares if its better for rich people than poor people -- that point is ...it's good for America
Awww folks...Doesn't that warm your heart?
But the more realistic take is Republicans Are Looting the Treasury While They Still Can (https://www.thenation.com/article/republicans-are-looting-the-treasury-while-they-still-can/). Because they know even if Trump can pull off a re-election somehow -- a lot of them and their lobbyists are pretty much fucked.
*Timothy Joseph "Tim" Kane (born April 28, 1968) is an American economist, currently serving as a research Fellow at the Hoover Institution and editor of Peregrine, a journal on immigration to the United States. He was formerly the chief economist at the Hudson Institute, a Senior Fellow of the Kauffman Institute, and was Director of the Center for International Trade and Economics at the Heritage Foundation. These four are what you'd likely find in market at the moment.
Blue Testament, American Pilsner
Satyr's Swill, German Bock
Hopostle, American IPA
Sweet Salvation, brown ale
Those top three are the three most in Market. That area is tough to crack for us for varying reasons. The Downtown Specs usually has us in stock tho'. We have more brands (like a schwarzbier and traditional roggenbier and our pilot system brews that donxt get dumped) on at the brewery if you want to make a little trip up to the Kingwood/Porter area (not that far or long of a drive).

More hops is definately not a general solution, and if you see anything above 113 IBU's then it's a marketing ploy since 113 is the maximum amount of isomerized alpha-acid hops can give to a wort.

Party doesn't mean shit in this country. Presidential candidates and their supporters can spearhead changes in either party. So you just have to get like 34% of the country to agree with the important parts of your agenda.
Every year voters get smarter because of the internet. They are going through that process of getting lied to and losing faith in most politicians. Some are even getting to the point where they see it is all a big shell game with the economy.
Eventually the populists will take over. But I think you guys need millenials to age into voting a bit. We fell for every stupid democrat centrist full empty promises put in front of us so far. But I think the next round we will have more demands.

u need to lay off dsouza's pipe :)Uhm, no. The socialists ruled the country, until Hitler put a bullet in his own head. Hitler LOOOOVED him some socialism. Spoke on it, wrote on it. He praised socialism in Mein Kampf. The Third Reich forced socialism on Germany and was far more socialist than any current country in Western Europe.
Socialism is the cornerstone of fascism. When Hitler visited Mussolini in '34 he was in awe of all he had done. Idiots will point to Mussolini leaving the Italian Socialist Party and speaking against that Party... saying that made him anti-socialist. Completely wrong, as Italy had a tyrannical command and control economy that hunted down capitalists like animals. He left the party because they weren't brutal enough.
Anyway, Hitler learned from this and took it back to Germany, where he was just a fledgling tyrant, and started his "reforms" in which he and the industrialists allied to take control of the economy, largely gearing it for war, and steering resources to the war machine.
Most things the Nazi's did were progressive. There wasn't that much that could be called reactionary, some of the valkyrie shit, the Roman salute and stuff. But Nazi's brought universal healthcare, built the worlds first superhighways, created the People's Car, supplied abortion on demand, built lavish government buildings, expanded scientific research, promoted the arts, etc, all progressive things.
Nationalism isn't right wing or left wing, its the opposite of globalism. Its like fingernails on a chalkboard when i hear n00bs get that wrong. Same with populism, whose opposite is like oligarch-ism or something.
I haven't read Dsouza (occasionally see him on tv), but I have Jonah Goldberg, Leonard Read, Ben Stein, Dr Kissinger, Milton Friedman, etc, etc, etc who have written on the subject.

Uhm, no.
I haven't read Dsouza (occasionally see him on tv), but I have Jonah Goldberg, Leonard Read, Ben Stein, Dr Kissinger, Milton Friedman, etc, etc, etc who have written on the subject.
this feels pasted and i fucking hope it is. very stupid.

David Brooks outlines why the bullshit story that Republicans didn't bother with this time, actually does matter:
Compare the tax cuts of the supply-side era with the tax cuts of today. There were three big cuts in the earlier era: the 1978 capital gains tax cut, the Kemp-Roth tax cut of 1981, and the 1986 tax reform. They were passed with bipartisan support, after a lengthy legislative process. All of them responded to the dominant problem of the moment, which was the stagflation and economic sclerosis. All rested on a body of serious intellectual work.
Liberals now associate supply-side economics with the Laffer Curve, but that was peripheral. Supply-side was based on Say’s Law, that supply creates its own demand. It was based on the idea that if you rearrange incentives for small entrepreneurs you are more likely to get start-ups and more innovation. Those cuts were embraced by Nobel Prize winners and represented an entire social vision, favoring the dispersed entrepreneurs over the concentrated corporate fat cats.
Today’s tax cuts have no bipartisan support. They have no intellectual grounding, no body of supporting evidence. They do not respond to the central crisis of our time. They have no vision of the common good, except that Republican donors should get more money and Democratic donors should have less.
The rot afflicting the G.O.P. is comprehensive — moral, intellectual, political and reputational. More and more former Republicans wake up every day and realize: “I’m homeless. I’m politically homeless.”
Deniable plausibility. It was least plausible that tax cuts for the rich were to help the country in the Reagan era. Hell, even George W. pulled it off...even then there was some eye rolling.
But this Trump era shit...there's just zero pretense. "Yea were corrupt so were cutting taxes for our donors" -- everyone knows that's the story. It's not like some creeping suspicion in the back of the average voter's head, it's the official story.

For that to happen -- Republicans in USA will have to be signaling their desire to impeach. So far it appears that mostly Democrats are interested in impeachment.
Democrats are kind of our international party as well. By that -- I mean most of the people that work in International Affairs are Democrats. So the world gets a bit of Democrat spin with their USA information from these people. I think it is a similar situation in other countries.

There is no such thing as a real "tax cut" for anyone. It just means that the taxes are going to be shifted (one way or another) to someone else. Consumers pay nearly 80% of the taxes in the US through embedded taxes. Embedded taxes are those taxes businesses pass down through the cost of goods and services. So by cutting taxes on corporation it is the best way to symbolically cut taxes on the largest group of tax-payers...the middle class.
If you believe that ANY politician has your interest at heart you are bat-shit stupied. Politicians become Politicians to get wealthy. Trump did not become President because the Populist movement supported him, he was the ONLY choice that was not the establishment. As opposed to a candidate that became wealthy because politics (ie. Clinton), Trump could not be bought as he was already wealthy. At least THAT is the hope.

How likely is it that Trump will get fired?
Pretty damn unlikely IMO, at least for the next year or probably even 3 years. If he wins reelection in 2020 then maybe a chance he gets fired if Dems pick up a lot of seats? I mean look at this tax bill that is probably going to go through that has something like a 20% approval rating from the voter base.
Trump is pretty much toeing the party line and republicans are in power, and in the next elections in 2018 I don't think many republicans are even up for reelection so unlikely dems can gain the majority. Even if they could impeach, it's unclear if Mike Pence is even a better alternative (or anyone the GOP could throw forward.)
The only way I see it happening is if something definite comes to light about this russia collusion thing and that it definitely happened prior to his election.
Thanks for your opinion JurisDictum & Lojik.

The price of something is determined by what people will pay for it. I'm not saying S/D controls everything -- quite the opposite. What this means is: People will only pay a certain amount for milk. As well, people will overpay a certain amount in certain areas. This is how pricing works these days. It's usually done with secret price agreements reached by an oligopoly.
When business says: "raising taxes -- we'll just pass it down to the customer" -- that's a talking point some policy advisor told them to say not the god's honest truth. Sometimes they do pass the tax on to the customer -- but only if it makes since to. They aren't going to charge $2 more for shitty cheap milk because not enough are going to pay 6$ instead of 4$.
Now when all cigarettes are taxed at a flat rate -- price goes up. When the corporate tax raises...cigarettes stay the same price. It depends on the product or the situation.
Corporate tax are popular because when a company gets rich -- it can often pay high levels of tax without negatively impacting prices or salaries of individuals. But that is a ground level view.
The macro view does show how corporate taxes are a way for the rich to put taxes on the expense account instead of paying them on an individual basis. But what Trump did: Cut tax for corporations, Cut tax for individuals (rich ones mostly), and didn't raise hardly any taxes except demolishing home ownership breaks and other breaks (none of them are going to be the ones his donors use).
So yea we got rid of corporate tax...but it isn't accompanied by a shift to taxing the wealthy -- we didn't really make a whole a lot of progress. Unless of course our masters in Washington are planning to let the democrats raise the taxes on the wealthy again.
That would be the virtuous cycle -- getting rid of bad taxes with Republicans and getting good taxes with Democrats. But it requires people understanding there are good taxes and bad taxes. Anyone who doesn't already own a house? Trump just costed you way more money than you ever are going to get in his breaks.

As a source of federal revenue, corporate taxes pale in comparison to individual taxes. Since the effective corporate tax rate is already hovering around 20%, I view the tax reform legislation less as a money grab for the rich and more of an absolution for corporate tax evasion.

Corporations do not get rich..shareholders get rich..and most shareholders are the middle class through mutual funds and investments (retirement) accounts.
To put it simply Corporations do not pay taxes unless they sell something. If a corporation does not sell anything and does not generate any revenue then they pay 0 tax. Tax breaks for corporations improve shareholders value, increases employment and create a welcoming business environment.
But i see you are fully subjective in your view about this issue and it does not matter what anyone else could say to convince you otherwise.

It goes Sale (- sales tax) --> Revenue (- business expenses + corporate tax) --> Profit/shareholders (who then get personally taxed).
So no, corporate taxes are not the same as individual taxes. That was my point you seem to be trying to argue with. Yes corporate tax can cut into the shared pie of profit (although not if your claiming they just "pass on" corporate taxes to the little guy). But its not the same as taxing your individual piece of pie.
But if taxes are to be progressive (i.e. the rich pay more proportion of their income than not so rich), they have to be done individually. Otherwise you have business picking up the tab for shareholders making millions dollars off of the business.
By that I mean, taxes come from somewhere right? Right now, the system is set up to tax a business instead of a person (to the degree that we relay on corporate tax). I have said in the past its good to shift taxes off of business and onto people.
What Trump is doing is "starving the beast" though. It's a Reagan strategy where you purposefully create a revenue shortage so you have an excuse later to cut otherwise popular programs.
He cut the corporate tax rate without replacing them properly. Just empty trickle down promises.
Edit: I'm also not a big fan of sales tax. And it should be illegal not to include tax in advertised prices. I'm sick of the "fake price" on everything. If you live in Oregon for awhile you'll see how nice it is not to be nickle and dimed all day.

Price elasticity will affect how much of a tax is eaten by consumer or producer, yes, but even if a producer eats a higher percentage of the tax dollar cost you'll still have to pay for that tax in other means, whether it's reduced product availability, reduced quality, increased transactions costs, etc.
On the corporate tax yes I kind of agree, the effects of a higher corporate tax rate are probably less clear than one would imagine between write offs for business expenses and transfer pricing practices of some of the biggest US corporations. For smaller corporations that can't navigate the US tax code as well the corporate tax rate is more of a burden and I do think it hinders small business. I agree as well that taxing businesses isn't as effective as targeting individuals.
I'd imagine there are companies that would find it worthwhile to come back to the US to incorporate, so the lower corporate tax rate would be somewhat offset with a higher pool to tax from.

Let me be clear. The best thing Trump did in this plan was lower corporate tax. I just think the rest of it stunk. He is kind of setting up the Dems to look like massive taxers. IDK wtf I should expect though.
Here is the pragmatic reason we have corporate taxes: We get actually get them. When you go after people's individual money -- they take it more personal. So it can be harder to keep up with the bullshit and actually get them to pay up.
So Trump did the easy part and not the hard part.

I'm sure some corporations will return from their foreign tax havens, but I'm not sure how many or what impact that will make.
Concepts like deadweight loss to taxes and the Lauffer Curve have validity, but the amount of revenue to the treasury the tax cuts will produce is anyones guess.

The thing to keep in mind about global competition when it comes to corporate tax rates...The main factor corporations consider is the cost of doing business in the country. Corporate tax rates are just one lens of expense. America is going to be more expensive because of things like wage rates, regulation, and simple cost of location.
So I'm definitely skeptical its going to end up with a net balance on tax revenue. The deficit is totally going up. The Republicans aren't going to shut up about this once their out of power again.
Edit: Generally rich countries provide highly educated overseers for the upper class's investment projects...also known as upper and middle management. Also, skilled labor that takes a great deal of capital to do (making apple chips). This is how we maintain our trade advantage. We are not doing as well at keeping up as the more "socialist" countries, however (Germany Sweden etc). I use "" because they are actually capitalist countries with a dash of socialism in them.

The USA labor force is one of the more skilled and educated in the world. Most of what is produced there still is higher tech than what you might get out of Malaysia or China. This negates the some of the effects of the higher cost of doing business there. You aren't going to get Woopie Cushion manufacturers back. But you might entice, say, GE Healthcare.
I know Ford Motors cancelled plans to build a plant in Mexico. This affected me personally because we were supplying die parts for there. But they returned to re-order those for a US location. We might see more along these lines.

roy more lost because alabama was sick of him anyway. he had bad optics before the allegations. but it also kind of shows that more boomers need to die off before any real change can be made.
but lol if anyone genuinely believes the allegations against roy moore. or any allegation raised against a republican during an election represented by gloria (((allred))) ever. if anyone else is representing that case, yeah i'll take it seriously. but if (((allred))) is representing it, that means that nobody else in the country would touch it. if (((allred))) represents an allegation against someone it means they're probably a safe person to let babysit your kids.
for most lawyers having her kind of case history would have been the end of their career long ago, but she's made her career out of representing and actively seeking out women to make false allegations during elections. she's been doing this for several decades and there have been hundreds of cases represented by her brought forward and blasted through the media, but none of them ever end in convictions or anything. quietly in about 1-2 months (((allred))) will drop the case against moore, and you'll never hear about it again. the media won't tell you about it, certainly not to the extent they told you about the allegations, etc.
if anyone doesn't believe me i'll challenge you: ban yourself for 1 year if the case gets dropped, and i'll never post again if moore is convicted.
a good example of this would be the 2012 election. a lot of new people are paying attention to politics now, which is cool, but a lot of people don't remember events that only took place a few years ago so i'll give you a refresher:
in 2012 Herman Cain was the frontrunner in the election and started polling ahead of the Chosen Golden Boy Obama. then all of the sudden women started coming forward saying he sexually harassed or abused them etc. two at first, then 4, then more each and every day non stop.every one of these cases was represented by (((allred))). Cain dropped out and the republican party ran with sandback cuck Mitt Romney who had no chances of competing with Obama during the election's projected black turnout. a few months after the election it came out that every single allegation was false and not a single one ended in conviction or even went to trial.
that's how we got stuck with obama for 8 years. thank the republican party for cucking out.
the point is baby boomers and GOPe cucks are borderline retarded lemming-brains, not any better than your average leftist. GOPe has no interest in doing anything other than being the controlled-opposition rhino party. i think everyone already knew this though.

i'm sure a lot of lefties are just rolling with it to countersignal but its pretty funny that some of them genuinely believe the allegations and think moore should have stepped down. when the democratic party has run multiple child rapists in elections this year. ed murray anyone? he raped something like 8 crack addicted teenage boys in the 80's while working as a social worker, and his own cousin, and they ran him until his own cousin went on tv. the democratic party had no issue running with that guy. there was another one like that too. weird there hasn't been a lot of moral panic about those allegations, which have actually been proven true, from the left.
hell i don't believe in taking unfounded allegations as truth myself, but if we're going to say allegations against people like moore should be taken at face value to be "on the safe side" why aren't leftists alarmed that over 75% of the people being named in metoo allegations are jewish democrats? and the rest male feminist democrats? that's not bullshit either, if you look at the list of people accused its totally true.
some of these #metoo's are really dope though. i know a few random celeb accusers and as far as i'm aware they're all telling the truth. the #metoo thing is definitely a more grassroots, genuine thing. the moore+allred thing has more been the democratic party's way of capitalizing on it.

if anyone doesn't believe me i'll challenge you: ban yourself for 1 year if the case gets dropped, and i'll never post again if moore is convicted.

roy more lost because alabama was sick of him anyway. he had bad optics before the allegations. but it also kind of shows that more boomers need to die off before any real change can be made.
but lol if anyone genuinely believes the allegations against roy moore. or any allegation raised against a republican during an election represented by gloria (((allred))) ever. if anyone else is representing that case, yeah i'll take it seriously. but if (((allred))) is representing it, that means that nobody else in the country would touch it. if (((allred))) represents an allegation against someone it means they're probably a safe person to let babysit your kids.
for most lawyers having her kind of case history would have been the end of their career long ago, but she's made her career out of representing and actively seeking out women to make false allegations during elections. she's been doing this for several decades and there have been hundreds of cases represented by her brought forward and blasted through the media, but none of them ever end in convictions or anything. quietly in about 1-2 months (((allred))) will drop the case against moore, and you'll never hear about it again. the media won't tell you about it, certainly not to the extent they told you about the allegations, etc.

a good example of this would be the 2012 election. a lot of new people are paying attention to politics now, which is cool, but a lot of people don't remember events that only took place a few years ago so i'll give you a refresher:
in 2012 Herman Cain was the frontrunner in the election and started polling ahead of the Chosen Golden Boy Obama. then all of the sudden women started coming forward saying he sexually harassed or abused them etc. two at first, then 4, then more each and every day non stop.every one of these cases was represented by (((allred))).
