Alliance. Who's down?!
Was pumped for this but vanilla just feels too basic. Ended up re-subbing to legion and then quitting gaming in general. Hope this is just a phase or maybe I'm done in general. Can't seem to find satisfaction in any game anymore. Dunno wtf.

A Chinese gold selling website for the Nostalrius / Elysium project got hacked and player info was made public.

If you play on the server and are curious if you recognize some of your fellow players as being pathetic enough to make a purchase, there ya go.

Burning Crusade private server with Gummy as the coder has my attention. Vanilla WoW was a great experience, no doubt, but the BC expansion was superb and remains my favorite.

vanilla has NOTHING To do other then wait for 40 mans, BC is just a shitty rep grind
UTHGARD
AMEN!
I mean, have u guys seen the timeline for it, you'll be doing MC for 8 months b4 BWL. Also, if there's one thing we've ALL learned over decades of mmo launches is you don't play on launch day. Especially WoW- its gonna take you 2 days to make lvl 10 lol.
If anything, the PVE server that just got released is a better deal cuz AQ is on the horizon & that was some fun raiding (along w/Naxx).

The log-in server is getting slammed, this leads to everyone getting stuck at authenticating. Please log-in only once every 30 seconds.
No shit, that's what happens when you have 28,000 people trying to log in.

The armor and weapons styling in BC looked really bad even by Warcraft standards but the group content had proper difficulty tuning....probably the only time in Warcraft's history where that was the case. Many pick up groups failed at their instance attempts--as it should be. No satisfaction is taken in winning when victory comes automatically.
The pre-expansion game revolutionized the genre (or arguably, suffocated it) due to its leveling which was, let's not forget, seen at the time as a significant improvement over EQ and its older clones. The game at level cap was rather dreary and poorly thought-out, but that's not what earned Warcraft its millions of subscribers.

Work 40-50 hours a week and already level 28 on Elysium PvP. I don't work harder, just smarter. WoW Vanilla PvE is pretty boring but rolling around with a few friends ganking is pretty fun.

Okay, a quick recap.
Nostalrius closed its doors to upwards of 12-14k players a long while back due to a C&D letter issued by Blizz, and a hotly rumored threat of a financial investigation. Some of the members of the server staff made overt attempts of claiming to be representatives of players wanting classic wow in an attempt to gain employment at Blizzard. This failed miserably, leaving their project adrift.
For whatever reason - the one they gave was that it was an effort to continue classic WoW for all of it's fans - the Nostalrius staff gave limited access to the player account database as well as full access to their game server core to the Valkyrie WoW project. The Valkyrie staff closed their own vanilla project in an effort to reset the servers for a fresh launch of the Nostalrius core with the promise of restoring old accounts of the Nostalrius players on two of the servers.
Over 30k players responded to Valkyrie's offer. Within 3 weeks some form of motivation was given to the Nostalrius staff that were still on board to announce that they wanted to take their ball back and go home. The accounts that had not been claimed from the old Nostalrius servers by their players would be erased, and more than that, one week in of the server set launch by Valkyrie saw access to the player database ended.
Enjoy the resulting dumpster fire. It's a pretty big one.
https://forum.nostalrius.org/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=45489
and then we have Valkyrie's reponse.
