Well? I was looking up something on youtube and someone said it weirdly, or so I thought. But they were American, I'm English.

So, which do you use? Just curious.

You say it how Webster's says to say it or you're wrong.

This isn't an abbreviation like SoW. This is an actual word.

Personally I think it's really funny when people on VoIP ask for a "Sow" (pronounced like the female pig) vs a "sow" (as in sowing seeds, pronounced like So). It's just never made sense to me when people say it like we're talking about pigs. Pigs just never seemed all that fast to me haha.

I pronounce it sew because it makes you go so fast and ends in a w.

That doesn't mean people don't pronounce it differently in different countries. They do.

Thankfully on this occasion the consensus seems to be what I use, "alak-rity" <3 :)

Another one threw me today, apparently if you see the name "Warwick" some people across the Atlantic say "wooor-wick", rather than "worrick" as we would in England :p

My favorite British reshuffling of syllable emphasis is in "advertisement".

American: ADvertisement

British: edVERtissment

Although, in retrospect we Americans are the ones doing the reshuffling.

Alak-rity. There are so many words in EQ I never thought about the pronunciation for until I started using things like vent/discord. The biggest surprise to me was sow.

They're faster than a seed that's buried in the ground.
