I am in <Europa> and will have (maybe) more to raid in the next 10 days then usually, which is nice. But I still got few friends in Awakened for who I feel sorry.

I dont know much about Awakened, but Nogard, Eberron and Swiftie been very nice to me so far.
The suspensions dont reflect the individual charakters in the guild.

Anyways, its only 10(30) days without raiding. World gonna keep moving and Awakened will raid again. But till then the little asshole inside me gonna enjoy this. It reminds me of the good old time at classic :)

I spent a very short time in TMO pre-kunark. At the time, I thought that it wasn't the place for me. but looking back, I realise that I just wasn't ready for P99 raiding back then.

I found a place in Taken right when they formed, and had the opportunity to learn to raid alongside other people that were also learning. We clawed the guild up from very humble beginnings to get to where we are now.

I'll skip more of the history lesson, but the people that I have played with over the past 5 years have been instrumental in getting us to the point where we can reap the benefits of a lot of hard work.

When Rogean finally gets sick of all of this nonsense and kicks his server box down the stairs, I'll have many great memories of the experiences and accomplishments that i was lucky enough to be involved with over the years, happy that I was able to share them alongside the many excellent people in Taken/Awakened.

Any other guild just can't compare.

Just shows how poisonous the competition is and what the raid scene has come to. The lengths some people go to best the other. There has been so many bad decisions and shady things done by almost all of the top raiding guilds that have been on this server. Sometimes intentional, sometimes not.

When I see people go to the lengths of getting a spy recruited to another guild so they can use screenshots of guild chat or forum posts to use in RNF it reminds me what type of people I'm dealing with.

As for the recent suspensions, these were not intentional things done by leadership to screw the server around. These were bad decisions made by members, members that have seen or learned these things from the competition, everyone is guilty of similar doings.

I believe when you're sitting at the top and you're in such a terrible atmosphere to play in you're under the microscope. In turn, Sirken falls under the microscope. I believe when the shenanigans reach a certain point something needs to be done and he got it done.

Awakened is being made an example of. We pushed too hard to be the best, made a few mistakes along the way and are paying the price for everyone in the raid scene here. Should the competition have paid also? Yes but that's not always the point I suppose.

I can say though that if I was in a leadership role and was kicked continuously when I was down by the community like this I would probably say screw it. Fuck all your player agreements and your attempts to resolve issues etc. we will abide by server and GM rules only and petition your complaints. It would make the environment for everyone more toxic but when this is what you're dealing with I wouldn't want to work with any of you but I suppose that's why I'm not in that role.

So to finish with a quote, the time for honouring yourselves will soon be at an end, look forward to getting back to some more healthy competition.

It just saddens me to see the raid scene still just as, if not more toxic than when I left.

I remain in Awakened because they allow me to be and I know should the raid scene e ever get mended Awakened is going to be the best place to be a member because all of the best players are here in concentration. There is not one single force on this server more capable.

Similar to P99 after the top 2 guilds who are pretty much tied it drops off a bit. This is by no means set in stone but if you want my opinion the top 4 guild rankings probably look something like:

2 <Asylum of Shadow>
3 <Echoes of Elysium>
4 <In Virtue All Stars>

1 and 2 are about even and could easily swap positions in PoP or another upcoming expansion. Same with 3 and 4. After that it becomes kinda blurry. <Rosengard III> is a pretty solid euro guild. <Resolute> has some good players. Once you get past the top 4-5 guilds I'd say just go with whatever guild fits your schedule the best there isn't THAT much difference. Again just my opinion though. I'm curious as to what you're basing your ranking system there on. AoS gets pretty much every open world target and they compete a lot harder. How does OGC rank first over AoS?

Because they KS'd some of AoS's shissar wraiths when AoS killed Emperor in open world when the instance was bugged, to get themselves some keys they didn't earn and cut into AoS's Key count. Also they exploited killing the wraiths in a corner of the room allowing the advanced loot window to gift planes rifts to players without Emperor keys.

Then they killed Aten Ha Ra first. This is the kind of shit that progression server "racing" turns into. When all the mechanics and encounters are solved already it's just a matter of who is more clever with their exploits to see who gets to claim 1st kill.

Once we get into 100% instanced content with no real benefit to open world content we will see what nerds end up doing. I expect AoS to crumble somewhat as they seem to live for that open world shit. Come GoD outside of like Txevu, Mshas and Primals I don't see much content for them to nerd on. They may just live in Qvic 24/7 though?

Similar deal with OGC. When you get the raid limit cut down to 54 it will be interesting to see what they do if their massive roster overflows 2 splits and can't fill 3 splits.

Currently, every zone has an open world version. So if you're downing your instance + dominating the open world as well, your guild is getting 2-3x the loot everyone else is that are just sticking to casual instancing.

Open world is just the regular zone just like here on p99. There's an npc called the Agent of Change whom you can access the instanced version with a group or more. It's usually located in or close to the zone you're trying to access. Then there are picks you can spawn. It's another instance of the open world. So lets say there are 40+ people in lower guk, a lower guk 1 will pop to accommodate the number of people in an open world zone. Raid bosses don't usually spawn in a pick.

While I fully acknowledge this isn't fool proof. You can compare the time it takes to clear VT as one metric of quality of players in your raid and overall raid organization. If you have a full raid and you still spend 5 hours clearing VT you probably aren't near the top of the spectrum. If you can 3 split full VT clears in that same amount of time or 2 split and have a record clear time of 2:32 you're probably doing okay.

We don't sit at entrance. Raid moves through the zone. Some trash is cleared some is skipped. Knowing when its better to clear and when its better to skip is part of being a good raid leader. Being able to execute kites and pulls and dealing with traps.etc is part of being an organized raid force of quality players.

My accounts are still sitting there fully geared and ready to go. I won't be 1% worse off than the day I left cause P99 is staying in shitty ole Velious forever. I've had at least 6-8 people PM me or send me tells in game on Phinny from P99 that decided to give it a shot AFTER the mass BDA migration. I completely disagree and I guess that's why we don't see eye to eye on who's #1. AoS is currently (to my knowledge) the ONLY guild on Phinny that gives 2 shits about open world targets in 99.9% of cases. OGC has a geared as fuck raid force going into PoP and we've hit like 1? maybe 2? open world targets period since I joined and its just cause they happened to be up when we were about to instance it and decided to double dip. Not cause we actively sought it out and poopsocked for it. Instances are all you need to get most of your guild completely decked out in current expac gear before the next one drops. Especially if you're 2-3 splitting shit.

AoS is the only guild that does open world. If you want to define the best guild by who gets the most open world they win by default I guess? I personally define best by who beats the final boss of the most recent expac first and that's how its calculated on Phinnykills as well. OGC beat AHR before AoS. We can argue about the questionable methods they used to win the race but the scoreboard stays the same. AoS and OGC both downed AHR on 10/2/16. I forgot about Darkwind in my previous post. I don't really know much about them all I've heard is people shit talking them and I think they're a euro guild? But them and EoE were tied for second kill day on 10/11/16. After that its Entendre, Resolute, Rosengard and IVAS on 10/16/16. My list wasn't super far off I just forgot about Darkwind and Entendre. Plus I'm a little biased towards Resolute and IVAS cause I know some really good players in both those guilds.

2nd - I know for a fact his guild OGC zoned into an OW AoS emp kill and got half their rifts. This is after AoS owned OGC on that emp kill and they were super salty and plotted the shard theft.

3rd - OGC and AoS both used training and other super shady tactics getting their VT shards when luclin first came out. They both trained and KS'ed legitimate camps. They are both scum bag trainers and hated by 99% of the server.

4th - "OGC doesnt pull VT bosses to zone in" holy fuck this is a pack of lies. Ive seen it so often its funny. This guy is a scum bag trust me

5th - His superior guild raid force of OGC for POP by only doing instances and split VT. Joke. ANYONE clearing VT in phinny has 100+ people in full VT gear. 1st - He says AoS did "shaddy tactics" for AHR. AoS cleared VT to AHR while OGC used known bugs to pull bosses and skip 90% of trash (and they still managed to BARELY beat AoS to AHR by like a few min)

2nd - I know for a fact his guild OGC zoned into an OW AoS emp kill and got half their rifts. This is after AoS owned OGC on that emp kill and they were super salty and plotted the shard theft.

3rd - OGC and AoS both used training and other super shady tactics getting their VT shards when luclin first came out. They both trained and KS'ed legitimate camps. They are both scum bag trainers and hated by 99% of the server.

4th - "OGC doesnt pull VT bosses to zone in" holy fuck this is a pack of lies. Ive seen it so often its funny. This guy is a scum bag trust me

5th - His superior guild raid force of OGC for POP by only doing instances and split VT. Joke. ANYONE clearing VT in phinny has 100+ people in full VT gear. His claim his guilds toons are better geared than the rest of the server is just false. Being fully VT geared on phinny is like saying "Hey I got this anus where I shit out of. Bet none of the rest of the world has one!"

reason given was "training" but basically the entire zone was being trained around at the time, so SirkenLogic(tm) dictates that the most widely-known person in the zone is obviously responsible

From what I recall it wasn't "training" either. It was delaying the pull or....something to do with hesitation. Simply put, he was using the same tactic that Taken was (from my perspective, maybe Rogean or Chest can actually correct me if I'm wrong.

It was something about Taken had the first attempt, but Chest didn't give enough time for them to recover and try again....

Expansions came out 2 a year. They come out 4 now and means less time in shitty as fuck xpacs like DoN.

It was funny watching the history of the second try at progression servers unfold.

Fippy was the first (I'm not counting the 2007 ones, they were a different story). On this server you had to beat the content to open a vote for the launching next expansion. Fippy was super popular, so much so that a second server was opened (Vulak). This was back in 2011 so p99 hadn't achieved the legendary status (or notoriety) it has now. People WANTED a nostalgia server and this was finally their chance. And the evolution of the server really showed this. 9 days to complete vanilla, 13 to complete kunark, 16 for velious, 13 for luclin. I don't know what the completion dates were after this. It got funny after that. As I said, the progression servers were seen as nostalgia trips for most the players. Not many players felt any nostalgia for GoD, and the vote to open it failed repeatedly, especially thanks to the poor behavior of the raiding guilds at the time talking down to the more casual people who wanted to experience their nostalgia as long as they could (sound familiar?). It did eventually pass, and from then on the population hit the shits, first raiding guilds leaving because of the stonewall, then everyone else leaving because the vote succeeded and it was no longer nostalgic EQ. The server still exists, but by 2015 there are posts mentioning that there were zero people in the bazaar (note: Takp, which currently tops out just over 200 people, normally has around 35 bazaar traders for comparison), and its only slightly behind the Live servers in progression.

The overflow server from Fippy was called Vulak. This server is dead. The casuals left with the death of nostalgia and there wasn't enough people to feed the few raiding guilds left enough people to maintain their rosters. Posts as far back as the beginning of 2014 were complaining that the server no longer had a population large enough to advance. It somehow managed to stagger its way to SoD on the backs of one terribad guild, but they are gone and no one expects Vulak to ever advance further. Any hope in 2015 was ended by Ragefire and Lockjaw.

Four years after Fippy was Ragefire and Lockjaw soon after. The main difference with these servers was a nod to those who wanted slower releases of expansions (basically the casuals who wanted to maintain the nostalgia factor as long as possible). They have six month unlock timers. Or, they did at first. This is changing as the nostalgia population quits. Both of them are as far as I know still in Luclin for a while yet, but having learned from previous history, DBG is increasing the expansion rate to 3 months after PoP, since the nostalgia casuals will quit then and Vulak proved the raiders won't stay if the progression is too slow. Notable about these servers was the failure to address the extreme power disparity between classic content and modern class balance; the servers were notorious for botted mage armies camping literally everything in the game.

And now the much faster moving Phinny, obviously aimed at the raiding population, with no votes that hamstrung earlier server progression. Instancing to prevent cockblocking, only "trueboxing" allowed.

Sometime this year there will be another progression server (basically already confirmed). Smart money is it will be after Phinny hits GoD and the same casual population collapse that hit Fippy and Vulak strikes; the new progression server will pick them up.

1st - I didn't say AoS did shady tactics to kill AHR. I admitted that OGC used questionable tactics to win the race to AHR. I was referring to the "rift stealing" incident. Open world competition (On the rare occasion it actually happens and its not just AoS circlejerking themselves) is pretty ruthless. I don't believe for 0.00001 seconds that AoS wouldn't have done the same thing if the shoe was on the other foot and neither does anyone with a functioning brain.

2nd - Basically covered this in 1st. Competition happened. AoS got outplayed then cried about OGC playing unfair while they consult their ShowEQ batphone

3rd - Again welcome to competing for open world mobs. Are you new to Everquest or just being dumb? AoS and OGC weren't the only guilds aggressively competing for shards and resorting to trains/KSing. It's not exactly a surprise that the top 2 guilds would be doing that. Both guilds have and will continue to do whatever it takes to win on expansion launches even if it means bending/breaking the rules and stepping on other people/guilds. This isn't exclusive to Phinny. Stop by the P99 Raid Discussion forums if you need proof.

4th - I have seen some bosses pulled to zone in and never denied that. I've never seen AHR pulled to zone in and the vast majority of the time I don't see any bosses get pulled to zone in. Depends on who's leading the raid at the time and what pullers/kiters we have to work with. I wouldn't be embarrassed to say we pull bosses to zonein all the time if we really did that. I don't know why you think I'd lie about it.

If you honestly think all 18 guilds with AHR kills on Phinny have 100+ fully VT geared players you are LITERALLY the least intelligent person I've ever encountered on this forum and that's saying a hell of a lot. Phinny is actually amazing. Honestly, if you are planning on going from Vanilla to Live... yes whats the point (might as well just play live and save yourself time). But I am doing it just to experience gearing and raiding stuff when it first releases and remembering old times. I understand Phinny is not 100% accurate to what live was 17 years ago but the things that are different are SOLEY quality of life changes and are fantastic. There is no pay to play unless you mean 18 dollar krono but honestly you would have to spend a fuck ton to get even the most basic gear.

I plan on playing through PoP and maybe get my 2.0 in OOW. But after that I see no point in playing any more. I originally quit after OOW/DoN because how the game was and the lack of enjoyment I had playing it. And I plan on quitting around the same time on phinny. Then likely I will immerse myself back on p99.

That's the difference between P99 and Phinny(and why p99 will always have a decent pop). On p99 you are STUCK in a specific moment forever. A good moment. But the same moment none the less. There is no moving on. P99 will never get to Luclin or PoP or Epic 2.0 stuff. The game was still fun during those eras. Also, P99 will always be here. So when my phinny fun runs out I can always come back and pick up right where I left off. But Phinny is an amazing opportunity to get a brief glimpse of the past and its full of people all wanting the same thing. I do not ask people to try phinny cause p99 is bad. But a little detour to enjoy something different for a while can make the p99 fun last a bit longer.

Phinny on daybreak is the worst server I have ever played on. the shit is BEYOND easy. and people train/cheat all day. No GM's monitor the server. I got my monk max lvl and geared in like a week. Playing on daybreak makes you wanna give sirken and the other gms that put up with our shit every single day/week a good pat on the back. I find it hard to call yourself a top guild on that server since everyone can just instance their shit. who cares about open world kills they spawn everyday and you can just get the loot in your instance. When people can train dragons on you in VP mid engage and you can kill everything and the dragon... yea.... I remember getting all the resist gear on daybreak that I had on p99 and felt dumb asf cause you dont even need it lol.

AC works here and has since Velious launched. It's relatively straightforward to parse. A high AC tank on Vindi will get hit for max 25-30% vs 40-50% of the time for a low AC tank.

Yea MR seems to generally be the exception. Having a high level of FR/CR/PR/DR doesn't seem to increase effective spell resistance to the level it should.

A level 60 Warrior with 200 Fire Resist shouldn't be getting hit for full damage by 90% of the Fire Wurm AOEs in HOT for example.

Most cold has -Cr check on raids in velious. Still helps while exping and kunark cold raids. Poison helps on the 3 or so fights it checks if you raid you notice it. I don't really get your point.

Chests train wasn't intentional...he dropped agro a millimeter too close to the wl zone line as taken was zoning back in from their failed attempt...framed perfectly for the gms...just bad luck...even though the whole server was training eachother lol...chest is a stand up player from the years I've played with and against him
