No really, I do sometimes, then I look at the population and think, hmm how am I going to make friends HA. Not so concerned about being killed, it's a pvp server it is bound to happen. Might be nice to do content I've never been able to do on blue, but it doesn't seem like a classic EQ experience when no one is around, might as well play p2002. Just thinking out loud. Don't worry about the pvp, it is almost non-existant until the higher levels.

The early levels are the hardest in terms of grouping, but after that you will find enough people that group regularly and everything is open.

That plus you can pretty much go anywhere anytime. The PvP makes it interesting.

Pick any class you feel comfortable soloing with until level 30+. It will be hard to find groups on your first char until you get to at least 30. With your second char you can PL with gear or a friend on a group dependent class pretty quickly.

Enchanter would be a great first choice if you can stomach soloing those first few levels. There are a lot of twinks you could duo with down the road and raiding guilds also welcome Enchanters. It would also be pretty easy to find some people to help you out with CHA starter gear too so you can start charming asap.

red is a great way to say goodbye to the p99 project.

You're not going to want to go back to blue because of blue names, lines and rule lawyers but you'll hopefully come to the same conclusion most of th server has already in that it's dead and not worth investing significant time into it. Have your fun and get out.

If you're on drugs this can be the best or worst thing to happen to you depending on your outlook and prognosis.

and most of the server runs around with 150+ magic resist.

Play a rogue or wizard, or a cleric or something if you wanna definitely contribute but honestly playing whatever makes you happy is the best bet. People will work with it.

Join Red. It's fun. XP is fast. You get cool shit pretty quickly. And 70% of the people are actually pretty decent.

Also, the OOC filter is a beautiful thing, although sometimes it's pretty comical.

Tommy blue would never work for me because my favorite thing to do on eq is roll up raid buffed with ds and a fungi killing groups of new players. Blue can't offer me that.

I mean depending on how deep your pockets are. I'm just getting to the point where I can afford high resist gear on top of what I have. Not a bad idea to have a few slots interchangeable with resist gear & normal gear (i.e. froggy crown in your back pocket) but my theory is just get the best item you can for that particular slot.

yes...you're first and primary goal is to get enough MR to not be rootable with either 1x tash/maloish spell on you for your level range.

I did today , luckily I was grouped with two fungi twinks so I was not harmed, the twinks even tried to let us kill the guy for fun. It was a good welcoming to the server today. Got 14 levels xp is nuts.
