I'm having fun on a new Enc alt, but I just hit Lvl 8 and now gonna be forced to go all the way to HHK to get my pets lol so I'm wondering is there anywhere near HHK that's better than CB?

Anyone have a brief little where to guide for enchanted soloing at my level through 20?

Is it even efficient to solo as an Enc?

Thanks!

Whirl Til You Hurl.

You can solo almost anything in the game.

As for places to go at level 8... Crushbone is probably your best XP, but it can be crowded. EC/WC orc and derv camps will get you into your late teens at least if you want to go that route.

Not too sure, but I think there are noob mobs in Highhold Pass. At least there were mobs green to me @ 23-24 when I was running to HKeep.

how close to Necromancers are Enchanters at soloing? no where near, or very capable?

now i can just use my pet to soak up dmg while i kill things, but how will i solo in the future?

I've res'd about 20 enchanters for every necro in the end result of a 'difficult encounter' in my lifetime.

You will peak when Whirl becomes mana efficient.. You will then hit the vally until 39, which is the first real sweet spot for Charm (assuming you've stocked up on CHA gear).

As with *any* class, you'll be far more efficient (faser and/or safer kills) duoing with another pet caster or a healer type than you will soloing as a lowbie enchanter. Not to say that it can't be done, enchanter certainly a viable solo class. It's just usually better to be partnered.

About the only thing you don't want to do is surround yourself with 4 melee classes who like to make big pulls and target mobs using F8. ;)

This is correct. Fortunately, soloing the entire game is just one facet of life as an enchanter :p

I'm only interested in Soloing as a second option. i understand enchanters main role is a group support, and i like that equally.

When you get to level 12, or so, go kill the sisters at the camp near the Mistmoore entrance in Lfay. They drop bronze weapons exclusively, and there's a wood elf ranger vendor nearby. They're good until level 20, or 21. Then you're good to kill yard trash in Mistmoore.

Nope. Just lull them, pull 'em 1 at a time. Let your pet tank them. Whirl til You Hurl, if you have it.

They're really not great XP after level 16. The XP you get at that point is a nice bonus to the awesome money you can make selling the bronze weapons, but they're mostly going to be low light blue or green by then (I think the highest level one is 13 at most).

That's not to say I didn't level to 20 at that camp... but that's only because I was farming plat for Jewelcrafting at the same time, and it was easy money :P

Definitely not the best place to do it, though. The orc camp by the GFay zone in Butcherblock is decent XP a little higher than 16. You could also get into a gnoll or orc group in Highpass by then, which will be pretty decent until 21 or 22 in a group and probably a little higher solo.

Getting groups before 29 (when you get Clarity) is rather difficult as an Enchanter, as Clerics can Paci to split pulls, so CC is a non-issue except in 'oops' situations.

Kind of a trade-off for Whirl working as a stun-lock if you ask me.

When Kunark comes out, it may be easier as Breeze will be available at 16 (I think it's 16).

You can solo the entrance mobs in Najena though I'm not sure when they become green. Nice exp bonus there.

Another good option is Kerra Ridge. Pretty sure that at 16 there are tons of dark blue mobs literally all over the entrance and you never have to lull more than 1 mob at a time.
Not certain of the zne exp modifier there but there should be some form of exp bonus there.

It's also a much easier dungeon to get to than you think. Tox is in the first group of ports that druids and wizards get and it's only a zone away from there. You can bind at the druid ring and have a nice halfway point between Kerra Ridge and Erudin, plus you can sell to the druid NPC there.

Come to think of it, that zone is ideal for a soloing enchanter. Just make sure you know which mobs are the casters (shaman healers) and plan your stuns accordingly.

Do Saben Tucross. I hunted her from 16-20, and she was amazing exp as a necro. You'll have to be really careful and only use darkness/heat blood/fear/leach (since heart flutter and poison are really hit/miss in terms of resists), and be 100% mana before each fight, but it's really good exp.

Be ready to get aggro a lot though, unless you're fighting mobs that con blue to the pet(s). My friend and I duo'd with a necro/ench combo, and I got aggro all the time. Mind you, we only played up to lvl13. As for an approach, bank all your gear including all your money, load up invis and try to find a druid to port you to Misty Thicket. Then run to HHK, where there is a bank in the basement, and go up to buy the spells.

When I went there, I made more plat than my spells cost me by doing some vendoring runs for soloing mages and shamans upstairs. So it's not <that> bad an idea to go there. Be sure to grab the higher level ones too and bank em.

Pffft, I had to run all the way from Ak'anon to HHK when I was lvl 8, without any ports or buffs...sometimes, you gotta do what you gotta do!

Also, don't forget, you have one of the most powerful abilities in the game! Don't be afraid to use it, even if it means a high chance of death. The best Enchanters conquer their fears, and act without hesitation!

/shrug... And neither could Enchanters in the... real.. everquest. And even in the most generous form of an early RNG xmas present, I'd love to see an enchanter lull-jump their way to Efreeti using EQ Live lull-checks from back in the day. And then hold the camp with old-world charm duration RNG.

Enchanters can't solo Dino, either. And even if one claims they can, GL finding a seafury clops to drag halfways across OOT every 6 minutes while simultaneously holding the camp.

Regardless, the only way he's going to regret his decision to go enchanter is if he actively seeks out pick-up groups in his teens and 20s. ;)

Dev - for peak times of the day, you can't get more consistent un-contested pulls with decent loots than Lavastorm Mountains. Should be solid till about 18.

Other good spots at 16:

Unrest
Highpass
East Karana
South Karana
Lake Rathe
Oasis
Upper Guk
Najena

One other super secret spot i'll let out of the bag for ya at your level that's never, ever camped and a nice little afk - xp spot:

The 3 dry bone roamers in the Feerot Spec Caves by Fear Portal. Perfect for your level, bone chips sell well, and you can vendor the rawhide armor and research components that drop, too. Just make sure you IVU over to the fear rock, and watch the one roamer spec that can path directly to the fear portal (90% of the time specs are camped to heck and it won't be an issue).

Well i have a 25 necro it was my first char. but it was boring, solo grinding is too easy. just darkness fear dot dot sit wait. wtf is fun about that lol ENC i always gotta be on my toes mainly because the mob has to have a crack at me before my useless rusty sword and kite shield will attack it.

IVU is Inviisbility to Undead, you'll need it to sneak by the specs to get to the dry bones.

Oasis has no ZEM boost, it's a slow xp zone. The bonus to it is there is always people to group with and mobs to pull. But for levelling it'd probably be the last zone on the list i typed out that i'd reccomend, simply because it's very crowded and loot sucks unless you are doing Orc Highway.

ok this is how i see it. Unrest trash mobs are garbage for me at 16 now. all LB and give me about less than .5% per kill. i just got PWNd in highpass orc group cause they are mostly red at 16 for me and my CC doesn't hold on them purely because of the level difference. if there were a crowd in there maybe i could get a full group, and EK SK and Rathe i'm not familiar with other than the aviak village and centaur village (which was fucking baller btw because of the non agro and GREAT loot + a vendor) but i cant go there til later
