New to eq and p99 here. Played a ton of Everquest Online Adventures for the PS2 back in the day though. Super bummed when it shut down so switched to P99 to scratch the itch and have enjoyed it ever since. Currently have a lvl 13 Halfling Rogue and 11 WElf Enchanter. Thanks for being so generous! :)

Greetings, I just returned to the game after a couple years and am starting over fresh. The only issue is that this time I have 2 newbies with me. My sister and my girlfriend are starting from scratch with me and its gonna be tough paying for spells, starter gear and ports for all 3 of us for a good while. I can attest this mask would be put to good use and I 110% would pay it forward since 10k is way more than enough to get the 3 of us on our feet. Honestly I would probably sell it and keep half and give away the other 5k in 500 plat chunks to deserving new players. As far as about myself, I played the game way back in 2001 and it has been my favorite game ever since. Whenever I play a buffing class I always buff almost every stranger I pass by without being asked. I always answer questions to those that I can answer and am always willing to lend a helping hand with corpse retrieval's or whatever else I may be capable of. Anyway, I am sure there are those who could use the help just as much. Good luck to the winner and thank you for giving back to the community!

PS: If anyone thinks that due to the age of my account I am just looking for a handout, if you check my post history you will see that there is a recent post gap from 2014 until now. So I am legit starting over fresh. Not to mention I owned just a few cheap caster items on my old account which I am transferring to my new Enchanter for use. So no I am not a completely new player in the sense that I have played before, but I have two BRAND new players I will be supporting this time around.

I can relate to that. After I got sorted out by the community. I got my 2 brothers and 2 friends to join the game and I tried to fund for them since i had the head start buying and selling with what I had in EC. 1 year + later we are all level 60 with alts and are good.

OP why don't you sell the mask and maybe give 3/4/5k or so to different newbs? That would be more than enough I think. Ashon helped when I first started also, I won 2k in a raffle and even 2k was a huge help at the start!

Your post history shows you have a character that is at LEAST level 30 which would give you a huge advantage over someone who is just starting out, even if your character is gearless. I think there are actual newbs who would be more deserving of this, but yeah, I'm not OP!

I find giving items to new players I am grouping with on my lowbies works best. In the past 2 weeks I gave a warrior a full set of banded, 55hp rings, and a couple weapons and the guy is lvl 18 now, still playing, and going strong.

The second guy, a wizard of all classes to start with had cloth and a cracked staff. I gave him two 55hp rings, a cone of the mystics, 2 weapons and a robe. That wizard who i met at lvl 5 is now 16.

I just think it's more fulfilling giving items you know the player can use. Also, it's easier to judge what type of player they are when you group with them, so you can determine if you think they may continue playing and will use the items.

Too many scumbags and people looking for handouts will flock to this post now. I will never tell someone how or what they should give to other people, but I just think using the forums is not the best way to help those in need out.

Fairly new to P1999, lvl 28 druid recreated from my old char back on The Nameless that I played for years. Having a ton of fun visiting zones that I never saw on live. I was hesitant to try the same class but it's been so long, it's like going back to playing baseball when you were young. The basics are there and you just start to knock the rust off.

Hi, been in and out of p99 for a while max level char is a 22 mage i enjoy it but only really play him to earn coin to kit out a mele, so not really what i want to play. always loved sk but they are so gear dependent. this could give me a boost to start the char i want and make some real progress.

I started EQ right as Shadows of Luclin came out. Fell in love with the game. Played for a while, But somewhere EQ lost its way. Years past then i heard about P99 recently. Hello, I played EQ from 2000 to 2004. I had a lot of fun, as well as frustrating, experiences. My two main characters were a level 40 shaman and and a 35 warrior. Now I play an 18 monk, a lowbie necro, and a low SK. I've decided to level the monk, and I want to get past 40 to see new content in EQ. I could use the pp to make soloing on my char more doable.

I never said I was more deserving than anyone and I do agree with you, but the fact of the matter is I have a pair of HP/AC rings and a Robe of the Foci that someone gifted me long ago as the only items worth anything which I transferred to my brand new Enchanter. My GF is brand new and naked as well as my sister. As you are correct having a character on another account is an advantage, to play with my gf and sister I have to be on my new character. Not to mention I plan on buying spells up to level 30 for all three of us, a pair of rings and maybe a robe and weapon and I will be using the rest to help others. If my calculations are right I should be able to give at least half the money back to the community.

I knew since they are new to EverQuest that not having spells, bags and starter gear was going to make things a little rough at the start. Although I understand your feelings, my account was made in 2014, I only played for several weeks and then had to stop due to real life issues. Now I am back and re-rolled a fresh character and this time I have 2 others with me that are new, my gf having never played EQ before in her life. So honestly, its like my gf and sister won and I am the one with enough knowledge with how to use the funds to develop their young EQ careers. As I said before, it WILL be paid forward. I have already given out handfuls of plat to various newbies we have passed so far.

Anyway, thanks to all for the congrats. All I can honestly say is that unlike a lot of people I know that would be happy to have won, not many TRULY appreciate the gesture and the help like we do. It really means the world to us and honestly I think it could of made the difference between these girls wanting to stay and make it to level 60 and attain their first epic, or getting frustrated before they made it to double digits and move on.

As I am sure many of you know, most of the gamers these days are used to fast paced, low risk, high reward, instant gratification type of MMO's. Without some heart and dedication, it can be a tall order to get someone who has never been through the tests and trials of EverQuest before to fight through the hard part and stick it out to enjoy pixels of their labor.

So far in the two evenings we have played, we have managed to make it to level 6 (first 4 hours were spent getting us all together and buying backpacks, food, spells etc.) hunting in Toxxulia Forest and recently broke ground in the Warrens tonight. We are motivated and excited to make our mark on P99 and hopefully become valued members of the community.

Anyway, thanks again to the Targaryens for planting the seed to their EQ future, it will not be forgotten and I can't wait for us to all be 60, doing our own gift raffle here.

Orrus, thats exactly where we are leveling. If you need help with spells and a set of banded along with a decent SK weapon, we are more than happy to have you be the first person we share with.
